Matteson deserves some credit here. I'm sure some fans will be calling for his head this off season but the numbers don't lie. #2 in fewest points surrendered. #4 in yards. That's excellent. His 1st year...Suggs and Reed missed PT....he had to form a new secondary in a QB/ pass friendly NFL...no real dominant DE pass rushers...no shutdown corner.... He's used what he has just right...not asking them to do what they can't and they are surviving their weaknesses.

Bears fans have to be sick about the Cutler deal. They gave up 2 1st round picks for him. He played Santa Claus yesterday. It takes a lot of work to get a passer rating that low. His receivers do stink but he had a running game in the 1st half to work off of. Flacco on the other hand was precise in setting the dagger. Great day for Joe: 21/29 for 234 yards and 4TD's with 0 INT's and a 135.6 passer rating. At the stadium you could see what Joe can do with receivers who get open and catch the ball. The Bears had nobody who could cover Heap... Mason was breaking free and the addition of Demetrius Williams gave Joe a dimension we've seen little of this year...the deep ball. All 3 receivers had a great day with Williams and Mason turning in 2 atheletic and acrobatic TD catches. I thought they left Flaccon play a series too long. There was no need for him to be on the field in the 4th quarter and he got sacked and it looked like his hip was banged again. The running game wasn't much in the 2nd half. Neither was Troy Smith who threw an INT. It was like both teams wanted to just get it over with in the 4th quarter. Great day for the defense...4 INT's, they had pressure on Cutler and Ellerbe, Barnes and McLain played well. If there's any criticism it's that they let a crapper Bears running game run on them. I leave this with 2 questions. Can Frank Walker turn in a final season stretch run like he did last year? He got an interception yesterday and immediately followed that up with a brainless toss of the ball 30 yards downfield to get a delay of game penalty. Can the Ravens make the playoffs at 9-7? Looks like that to me with the loss of Webb.

I guess they'll do the MRI thing today but nobody seems optimistic. This is seriously bad news for this season. The D has been playing very well...pitched a shut out....it finally looked like the situation at corner might be set solid for a few years with Webb and Foxworth but not for what is left of this season. Before this I thought the Ravens had a good shot at winning in Pittsburgh...not now...but we'll see.

Radio rumors say ACL...done for the year. He was great out there today...definately looked like a #1 corner (Foxworth had a great game too). This is very bad news. It throws some serious water on the win, playoff hopes and the possibility of doing any kind of damage should they make the playoffs.
