I read this and thought...yea...maybe they are getting better. Thanks to Webb. We know the pass rush is critical to how well the secondary holds up but take that out of the equation for a moment and the question is: Is the secondary improving?

Anybody else watch the games yesterday? I hung on to the Alabama game and Texas/Nebraska game and flipped to the Cinci and Clemson games in between...it was an exciting day of college football while I trimed the tree. Great come from behind win for Cinci but they have no defense. Alabama (my favorite) rolled over Florida...crushed them...and Mark Imgram is my Heisman guy. The Tide was so dominant that I see Texas having no shot at them. McElroy is getting better and better at QB as the season wears on, Imgram is just one outstanding talent...Areanas on ST is incredible to watch, and their D is very physical (hope the Ravensd get Orlando McClain). The O line played the same smashmouth football. They are the best TEAM in college football right now. And Texas/Nebraska????...I couldn't turn the game off. I smelled upset all night. Two offenses that gave a new meaning to futility but one of then, Texas, was supposed to be great. That makes Nebraska's D great. What a show they put on and Suh has to be the 1st pick in the draft. For the night he had 4½ sack and 12 total tackles but that doesn't tell the story on his dominance play after play. I can't remember a DT playing so dominant...probably why I couldn't turn the game off. Here's the story on that game... I wanted that FG to miss because Texas is not National Champion worthy. So long McCoy...no Heisman for you. You either Tebow but he was classy through the tears after the loss. Nebraska's offense was horrid. Almost comic watching them try to gain 10 yards. Zac Lee was something like 2-8 for 10 yards and 2 INT's in the 1st half...around 35 yards of total offense. It was their D with 2 INT's that gave them Fielg Goal range and Special Teams. Special Teams almost pulled it off for the Cornhuskers to win the game. Here's the BCS picture... Great day of football.

"Tell you what...if the Ravens win in Green Bay then this team can win in Pittsburgh." It will mean they took the next step this year. That's what I'm looking/hoping for.

Me too. I think Monday night is their only chance to go 10-6...it's a must win game IMO. I don't see the Ravens winning in Pittsburgh....it could happen with some breaks but the best chance to go 10-6 is by winning Monday Night. I look at it this way...a loss to Green Bay means that this team is still falling short, has too many weaknesses and is not playoff caliber. That kind of team won't beat the Steelers in their house when they are desperate too.

Too early for me. The regular season is short and the off season long. I don't get into Free Agency until after the Super Bowl and the draft until March....but save this thread and list...it's a good work sheet to start with. I do see about a 30% turnover on this roster... anyway....I'm focused on the Packer game.

I'm hearing it will be in the teens come gametime....maybe flurries or light snow. When was the last time we saw the Ravens play and win in the snow? This is no walk in the park. Ravens on MNF???...another albatros. 21 teams have more sacks than the Ravens so without Suggs it looks like Rodgers won't have to worry. I'm not feeling good about this game. It's a must win to me because I feel even worse about the Ravens chances at Pittsburgh. The Ravens have to go all out...break out everything....have the perfect gameplan and execute it.

So if you have a decent computer, monitor and speed the games come through fantastic. Usually I tape every game because I like to see each game twice...once at the stadium and once on TV to get it all...and because I'm a fanatic. Anyway, I broke the VCR so this fills the bill. Plus this includes the playoffs. You can be watching the Raven/Steeler game in 5 minutes...literally. No, NFL.com is not paying me a commission...

Yea...last night Harbaugh said that was the call from the bench...if Farrior shadows Rice he's the target. The Steelers all week prepared to stop Rice...they knew he was the key....and they could not do it.

Nice thread....and good points pumpkinhead... Ravens/Steeler games are always ugly...it's hard to come out looking good so the win tells the tale. That's what you hang your hat on. At the game in the 4th quarter I quoted that line "You play to win the game!" to my brother. I was thinking of the Ravens offense. They had to take some big play chances...some risk/reward plays...conservative was not going to do it. and they did...going for it on 4th and making it broke the stalemate. Momentum shifted. The steelers were having trouble throwing. The Ravens front 7 on D seemed fresher due to continuous rotation of personel (they need to do this from here on out)...and the O seemed to be wearing them down. The Ravens had 'more' in OT. Looking ahead this offense has to "play to win the game". Not recklessly, but that attack and confidence attitude needs to be there going into Green Bay.

FYI...the Ravens defeated the Steelers 12/30/07 in Pittsburgh, 27-21, with a 3rd string rookie QB...Troy Smith.

Thank you for noticing Edwards...he's been playing great. Kruger will take the next big step next year after an off season of bulking up Ravens style and lot's of camps working on fundamentals. I think we have a "Keeper". He could become a real pass rushing DE but after seeing his athleticism on that play, maybe the Ravens develop another cyber-hybred. The draft looks good with Webb, Oher and Kruger emerging. Oh...McKinney has been filling in well also.
