  1. The idenity is the "Shoulds, Coulda, Woulda, Potential" Team. That only gets you losses in then NFL.
  2. Talk about wasted opportunities the Bengals and Steelers lost. Christmas only comes once a year.

    Hey

Thanks...I get the picture....it's too early to talk about receivers for 2010. Clayton and Washington disappointed me today...they were up against slappies....no seperation so it was "Joe Checkdown" day again.

    Hey

Anybody with ESPN Insider look up their latest rumor on Boldin comming to Baltimore next year...and post it here please!
  5. Birk and the 2 guards are not getting the push....the box was totally loaded and tight...if Flacco fakes the hand off and keeps the ball he could have walked in around the end. Or... Spread them out...go 3 wide and pound McLain up the gut. He'll get that yard 9 out of 10 times.
  6. Back to the topic...I totally agree about the wasted opportunities. Manning tried to give them the game with the INT's...the O couldn't convert to TD's. The D had a good day and their performance was wasted because the O could not find the endzone. Tell you what...Haushka would have been 3-3 on FG's today and I bet Matt would have missed 1 or 2 of the long ones. Cundiff did well on short notice.
  7. Bottom line...a team that can only score 16 points against a shitty Browns D and 15 points against a shitty Colts D is a fragile commodity. Hat's off to an improved D though.
  8. When Mason goes out at the 1 and doesn't make the TD I knew it probably cost the Ravens the game. They weren't going to score TD's today. They were too busy trying to get Cundiff in the Ravens record book.
  9. Well...he was a better option than 'Fair Catch' Carr.
  10. This team did play their ass off. The coverage was good and tight...D looked good. What looked bad was Clayton and Washington not being able to get open against scrubs. Contain Mason and Rice and there is no offense. The O line did a great job protecting Joe (Hats off to Gaither and Oher) but couldn't open holes running between the tackles. Hey...Cundiff is in the Ravens record book tying Matt for 5 FG's in one game and once again Matt kicked a game winning FG at M&T Bank stadium. What I see is a Ravens team that is a small step behind the Elite teams...close but no cigar...unable to take that next step and find the way to finish the game and win. A lot of .500 teams are like that.
  11. Who's that? Reed? There were 17 seconds left and 10,000 yards to go...he was trying to make a play.
  12. I need some time to think about this. The D played well....the O moved the ball but couldn't score a TD if their lives depended on it. Certainly .500 is a realistic neighborhood.
  13. Today's answer is: I guess not. Redzone O sucks.
  14. It sure would and that's my expectation. They did squat against a stinky Browns D. I don't rank the state of the Colts D (this weeks version) much higher. What I'm counting on is pride. They know they didn't execute last week (including Joe) and my hope is they come out focused today. It would be a fun game to see the Ravens put up 30+ points...they have the right situation and potential to do that...of course "POTENTIAL" will get you beat every time.

    Ouch!

Oh how the Truth could hurt!
  16. I can't stand the suspense... I'll be score board watching all day.
  17. If ever there was a time for Cam to call the perfect game then today's the day. The Ravens have to keep Manning off the field. They have to start fast, slow the pass rush and put up 7's. There's other ways to win but I don't see them. Does Cam have it in him?
  18. I've got expectations this morning and we all know how these turn out. Yesterday I wasn't expecting a Ravens win and I still don't although I think they have a shot. Today I'm thinking 'If the Colts team hopes for a win rest on Manning, why shouldn't the Ravens hopes be on Flacco for this game?' Clearly Manning is carrying that team on his back while various aspects of the team struggle. Now it's Joe's time IMO. That's a lot to put on a sophmore QB with a weak receiving corps but Joe does have a good line and running game. He doesn't have to throw 40 times this game...just make the big plays today. He's got to do it for the Ravens to have any shot at a playoff spot this year. Expectationa...it's a long shot isn't it?
  19. Let me know if you get one. I'll meet you down there.
  20. There's hope. The Ravens have a decent shot at winning this game but it will be on the offenses sholders to get out to a fast start, score and score TD's in the redzone. The good news is the opportunity is there to do it against a banged up, patched up Colts secondary. Freeney may not be able to bring his "A" game due to some hip problems. Speaking of Freeney and Mathas, I really want to watch Gaither and Oher on them. Should be a good trench battle. Hey...the Colts are caving in and giving up points too.... So they are beginning to bleed. So why not have the Ravens cash in on this trend? geo put up some telling numbers on how lopsided turnovers were in the Ravens losses to the Colts including Flacco throwing 3 INT's last year...so let's protect the ball this time! http://forums.extremeravens.com/index.php?showtopic=1133&pid=11159&st=0entry11159 Manning and the passing game can't mask forever a very weakened defense....can he!?! I'm thinking run a lot (Ravens are 5-0 when rushing for more than 18 times)...use the 3 headed monster...keep Manning off the field.....protect the ball....the 12th man yelling and blowing their faces out...and then there's Joe... Flacco has to finally take that next step and take over the game from start to finish. He's been on the losing end vs the good QB's. Close but no cigar. Time to light one up Joe!
