Check smokey.. I was thinking if they can win next week then I wouldn't be as worried about the Super Bowl because they will have a week off to heal. That is huge. The 2000 Ravens were spent after the Raider game and their playoff run....the week off helped them immensely. So next week...in my troubled mind...:0....is the huge hurdle.

lol! McNabb might be starting to choke...safety. BENCH HIM NOW!!!!... 7-5

Who are you pulling for? I'm an Eagles fan today...rather see them in Tampa if the Ravens should be there.

Yea dc...to follow though with your analogy... There are jabs and there are upper cuts to the jaw. The Ravens were bloodied by the jabs, but they delivered the brain snapping, upper cut to the jaw... I'll say this...I was thinking no way they could hold up in this top notch physical game. 17 games in a row, 23 guys on IR...losing Anderson (brief period), Rolle, Suggs, McLain's ankle...players were dropping like flies. They were losing in this war of attrition. Their legs were giving out to fatigue. They look so battered as a result of the last 4 games that I can't see how they can win another one... Seriously. These guys have given their all and at the moment...they seem spent. I cringe at the thought of another snotknocker with the Stealers only because the Stealers are the only team that can play this physical and because Ravens are definately not a healthy team...at the moment. We'll see as the injury report comes out this week....maybe there will be some miraculous recoveries. I fear this is the end of the miraculous run. I think this 2008 Ravens team might be "spent". They have proven me and everybody else wrong as to what thery can and cannot do. I hope they have one more surprise left.

"Shouldn't they be paying you to go to Pittsburgh?"

Funny how many playoff losers to the Ravens have said that in the past...."They're not that good".

Nice article dc...thanks. I said on the gameday thread that this was the hardest hitting game I've ever seen. That's a lot of hard hitting games considering the Ravens smashmouth stlye of "Old School" football. 'Rope a Dope' is a good term to describe this game although I'm sure that wasn't the game plan. It worked because of the character, heart, training and mental toughness of this Ravens team. All 53 men and coaches. The knockout punches came from the Ravens. They forced the turnovers with pressure and a higher physical intensity. The Ravens made the big plays and the Titans didn't. Plain and simple. The Ravens out punched the Titans. The NFL awards wins on who scores the most points by the end of the game. To score points, the football must cross the plain of the goal line. It matters not how much a team moves the ball up and down the field. No points are awarded for that. Only when the ball crosses the plain of the end zone. The Titans scored the fewest points. The Ravens out punched them in this most important catagory.

I don't like the idea. Although it's a meaningless game, I see it as a distraction to the playoffs and Super Bowl....like flies on your steak at the cookout. In the past, the main reason I turned it on was to see the mountains, ocean and beaches of Hawaii...to get through the cold of February.

The ball was out crav..I haven't watched the tape yet but from the game replays, that was clear to me. Hey..Ravens got the short end in their 13-10 loss here on that phoney Suggs roughing the passer call. This time we caught a lucky break on the 4th quarter, winning drive, game clock play...and won the more important game of the season...yup...13-10. These teams are even...in score and karma.
-
The crowd noise limited them...it's just about the loudest and most football savy crowd in the NFL. They had to go on a silent count the whole game...most importantly, Joe couldn't audible to beat the defenses with the big play passes. It's one of the limitations of playing on the road.
-
Funny but now that you mention it...I think I'm on a permanent 6 second delay when talking with humans.
-
Nevertheless, I'm grateful for the refs...

I couldn't take it crav. They are The Pits. Major annoyances and distractions. I turned the sound off and switched to my radio. It was that or destroy the TV. The radio was 1-2 seconds ahead of the TV broadcast so I knew what was happening before I could see it..." Crazy...but it actually took the edge off my nerves.

I don't think they ever want to see us down there again.

After watching the Cards upset the Panthers who do you think the Ravens will play next week? Stealers or the Chargers? I have a feeling the Chargers will win. Sunny southern California here we come. Might as well continue this unreal deja vou ride.....the Ravens went to California to beat the Raiders in the AFC championship game in 20001.
-
You mean Harbaugh's challenge of the catch that put the ball back making it a longer field goal attempt? It was huge. That's coaching and game management. Fishee wishes he had used his.

OH! Don't forget to read the Tenneessean tomorrow.... http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090110...1/90110026/1027

107-3 when the Ravens win the turnover battle.
-
I get mine from the Ravens website but you have to wait. They also put up the transcripts. Surf the web...ESPN has a great post game video of Ray Lewis...he's almost crying shouting "Halieujah!"...there's videos everywhere.
-
Yea...good play by Joe getting the ball to McLain there....Gaither held his own today...as usual. "Oops! Forced fumble."
-
The Ravens are due to arrive at the airport at 11:30pm...at the complex at 12:30am.
-
or they're going to be out of the playoffs. Cards up 17-7.
-
Didn't see it cleetz...I was hugging my son... I got it on tape so I'll catch it. He made the play...Joe Cool made the play.

Player after player went down. In an already thin secondary due to injuries Rolle pulls a groin muscle...Leonard knocks himself out forcing a game saving fumble on Gates. Suggs sprains his sholder. Willie Anderson goes out. "Bring the Pain" McLain sprains his ankle. Heap...just a physical wreck if you know what's happening with him. and the Ravens kept trotting out the next man...and they didn't let the dam bust. They didn't crack. I've never seen anything like it. Then there are all the players playing with injuries like 'one armed' Reed and Mason.
