Mikie is right of course but it's a moot point anyway. We've been losing to Cinci a lot lately even with a full force, so there's no chance of dropping below the 7th pick of the draft unless Cinci of course, tanks it like Piss did. They never showed up.

Mikie is right about losing but that 3rd pick would have ensured the best pass rusher or CB in the game plus a whole lot more. Winning is everything, but beating the Bengals isn't that important if it knocks us out of the top 10. Then we'll get a Mosely or somebody good but staying at #8 gives us more and we can build on all that, especially since the draft isn't too deep in talent.

Z was one of the guys we got in the Ngata trade who did nothing this year. He was injured a lot too and had only 1 sack after starting the year injured. Z has contributed and played a lot but needs a lot of growing. Ozzie groaned when Piss drafted Dupree just ahead of us. Apparantly he was high on Ozzie's board too but the hated rival got him. Enter Z who made Dupree go in college by taking up so many blockers ala Suggs. Now we're seeing what Z can do.

Damn, what they did to the new QB in 2 weeks beating the Squeelers. Now that's coaching especially by Trestman who taught him the playbook in 2 weeks and who coached him. I praised HARBs on the other thread for his coaching in this game. He completely out coached Tommy and usually does. He's growing on me. I never liked it that he ever called a game and had to use someone else to but he's a great motivator and runs the other coaches well. I remember him saying after SB 47 that he keep calling up to Pees to keep adding pressure on KAP at the end of the game. He remembered Eagles and Skins coming back to win it on last play of the game. He didn't want it happening in the SB and it didn't. I just didn't like him getting rid of Boldin, Pollard and Reed like he did although Reed was done. Pollard and Boldin had great years after that and Ozzie said it was about production non personalities. Yea,sure. But HARBs is moving up. Not bad for a special teams coach guy only.

Ravens sweep. lol We have our backup QB - for now and I've been saying that about the o-line and the great job Castillo has been doing coaching Urshel up to take over Center for Zuttah both last year and this year. He was drafted as a guard but on draft day DeCosta said Urshel will be the Ravens center. Then Castillo moves Ryan to LG after he moved KO to LT w/o missing a beat. Ryan started out on the practice squad last year after learning he had sleep apnea which is controllable with eight weight program. He was drafted with a broken foot but Ravens were patient with him and developed him.

Highest he's ever drafted thus far. A win next week would drop us another spot or two but should still be in top 10.

More importantly, they win the 2d half two and thus sweeping the series. That makes the season a success in such a dismal year, beating Pissburgh twice plus dwindling their playoff hopes and keeping them from clinching them here. Who would have thunk it?

Gotta hand it to HARBs. He has his beat up team high for the game and trying to spoil Piss' playoff announcement. He had Ravens leading at half time. Also, I didn't see all that yellow I expected to. Stadium was filled purple. Squeelers are closing the gap and will win but kudos to Ravens for not quitting.

That was by far the ugliest SB ever and Bubba never wore his ring because the game was played so bad by both teams. In fact Arty Donovan said the same about the greatest game ever played. He said it was a lousy game and we played terrible and should have won it in regulation but it goes to the first sudden death game in history and history is made.

Other teams like Denver play strong in the regular season because they're in easy divisions like NEs but fall apart in the playoffs because the teams are stronger. What you're forgetting, is, we finally got rid of CAM in 12, Caldwell steps up and moved KO back to LG and Oher back to RT and inserts Fat Mac into LT and we went on a winning streak and never lost. With that revised offense, we came from behind to beat Denver out there with a special play at the end of the game. On that miracle play, Oher was beat and pushed back and his man almost had a hand on Joe who stepped up in the pocket and threw a bullet to JJ who got behind everyone. The D held on just like they did in SB47 that year after giving up a 3 TD lead but hung on in the end with HARBs pressuring KAP knowing he couldn't handle it. Whose wife were you in when Ellerbe won the game with a blitz forcing KAP to over throw their top weapon Crabtree who was covered well by Jimmy Smith. Jimmy had him covered so well that afterwards he said he watched film before the game and notice in the film KAP touched his helmet on the right side. That meant he was throwing right and Jimmy knew the exact spot. That was a defense that sure limped through the last 4 games and in the SB but won and the Ravens are wearing the rings, not KAPs boys.

You're the one in denial. Ravens won a SB riding a damn good D and won it with no QB. At least Manning is there which is more than about 25 other QBs can say. Manning is better than what the Ravens have at QB at the moment. Marsha doesn't mind getting in every year being in a candy bar division either.

Ravens are #2 for pass blocking allowing just 22 sacks overall. Ravens are #10 for run blocking gaining 4 yds pr carry. Not bad considering the unit has been injured like the ones on defense especially with Monroe. Zuttah has been injured and Urschel has played well for him. KO moved over for Monroe and Ryan has filled in well for him. I saw one mock with Ravens taking the best LT in the game with the top 6 pickbut they have a lot of money invested in Monroe but if you have a chance for another Ogden, you jump on it. The Baltimore Colts had a problem protecting Unitas from the left side. Ray Berry says they drafted Jim Parker and we never heard from the left side again. JO did the same for the Ravens for a decade. Still, that's a decent ranking for a beat up unit. Yes indeed. It seems some of the best WRs have come from the middle rounds and lower. Take for exemple, Travis Taylor's class. I forget his name but the top WR went to Cinci and he along with all the other top WRs including TT were total busts except Plexigo Burress who went to Piss. He had a couple of good years, not fantastic but got a big pay day elsewhere but none of the other panned out. Talk about luck, everyone passed on Hiney Ward who was the best WR in the country that year but fell off his bicycle a week after the season and busted his ACL. Everyone passed on him for the first two rounds but Pissburgh took him in the 3rd with the ACL busted. He of course couldn't play for a year but came back to be one of the best ever and he sure hurt the Ravens over the years. Just ask Ed Reed's neck. Ed didn't even speak to him in the locker room during the pro bowl. He later said he respected his football skills but not as a dirty player. I begged Ozzie to draft Roddy White and so did Kiper who was livid when Ozzie took Mark Clayton who was a #1 pick on everyone's board and Ozzie always plays the but all those board's were wrong and Roddy has burned us a few times while Clayton was a bust. So there's a lot of luck to it. Piss got lucky with Burress and Antonio Brown where Ozzy didn't.

Manning lost all those games in NE while the Ravens have the best playoff record up there. It took a lot of cheating, bending of the rules and trickery to beat a deleted or banged up secondary which blew 2 leads - twice. Piss just beat a SB and that same team barely beat the Ravens in week 1 with so many down even then. The Ravens with once again a banged up team took them to the final minute of the game. Thats two tough games vs AFC-N for Denver.We also beat them in the POs just couple of years ago. We beat them in 2000 playoffs on way to SB 35 trophy.

Ditto on the commercials but I'm usually at a bar and guys turn to their drinking and talk, not that they ever left their drinking, they're just not paying attention to the TV and just drink and talk which is usually better than the game.
