I was referring to their offense being dangerous which 450 yds and 3 TDs usually is but not vs us. We still won despite our secondary because the front 7 put pressure on that offense and took the running game away but it was still dangerous. We're still dangerous too despite our secondary. Just saying, ya know?
-
True dat but that lousy team threw for 450 yds and 3 TDs and 1 INT and still lost. With an easy schedule the rest of the way, the moon and stars are perfectly aligned for us. Just saying, ya know?
-
As far as the coverages they just won some games with their best player on defense out -Jimmy Smith and Webb playing on bad back. He can hardly keep up with anyone. They got new guys like Hill and Levine playing. He blew the coverage on Jimmy graham's first TD but we still won in spite of their breakdowns. Hill was the hero reading Brees as Sugg pummeled him forcing Brees to throw late. Hill played the ball perfectly and took it to the house. NO never recovered. Again with easy schedule Ravens are a dangerous team as national writers are say. Check out nfl.com.

NFL.com has a piece saying the same thing as Gruden about being a dangerous team adding Brandon Williams and Ngata up the middle and Suggs and Dooooom onthe edges and Mosley as the DROY. So I'm going by what they say not you. Besides, Ravens deserve a break. You just need to relax and enjoy a win even vs a lousy team. This is still a dangerous team if they wannna be with winnable games at home vs SD, jags and Cleve plus one on the road in Houston maybe Miami too which just gave up 39 pts in Denver.
-
That's what Gruden said after Forsett's final TD. He said if they can keep improving the secondary they have great balance. Both Torrey and Smith had 90 yards receiving, they have great running game with good blocking. During the game Gruden was in high praise of Wagner and KO and said you want to lean on that big LG they have there. He also praised KJ on some blocks and a big catch after fumbling near the goal line earlier in the game. With home games coming up vs SD, Jags and Cleve plus road games in Miami and Houston Ravens could easily win 11 games and try to run the table. BTW, on that last Forsett TD, Joe called an audible and Gruden said he looked straight at Kubiak when he called it and ran away from an over load. Joe saw something that utilized Forsett the best. I've been critical of him for not doing that much this year. Glad to see Joe get it back. Like Smurf said on the WOW thread, they must have done a lot of work with JOe during the bye which couldn't have come at a better time.
-
Exactly. Man, that bye couldn't have come at a better time but I think NO gets Pissburgh next week and after a bye. Poor Brees. LOL

Drew Brees threw for 450 yds, 3 TDs and 1 INT and still lost. WoW, just WoW. Who would have thunk it. Our patched up secondary was better than his as Forsett ran for 182 yds and 2 TDs himself. SR caught another one. Ravens ran the clock out in the 4th qtr after getting a 14 pt lead. Brees came back in gravey time for a TD but it was too little too late as JJ caught the on side kick. Will Hill, what a great signing, with an INT and a key break up. All that after a bull shit penalty that gave NO a first down and then then score. Even Gruden said the penalty was BS. The Refs did their part to give them the game all night but Ravens over came them. Did I say WoW, just WoW. Think about this, with 7 wins and winnable games coming up at home vs SD, Jags, and Cleve, Ravens could finish with 11 wins with a road win vs Miami who gave up 39 pts to Denver Sunday and Houston which isn't very good. Just run the ball vs them and stay away from What and we get the 11 wins and POs. That would be something after everything this team went thru since before the season started and losing our best 2 corners and we still beat Brees who had over 400 yds. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/game/2014/regular12

Just like in Indy, Piss and Cinci on the road - heh? Flacco doesn't do so good on the road either.
-
TB didn't have Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham to score 6 TDs and now Jimmy and WEbb are both out for us - a double bonus for Brees. Other factors like it's a road game on a fast track don't speak well for Joe Cool.
-
Saints will bring their A game vs Ravens at home and a fast track. Brees will get 6 TDs. It's another night mare.
-
Hopefully. Better him than us! I'm stay waiting for him to zap Ravens over Rice.

Yea, as far as being forced to play on injuries, it's always been that way. People used to get killed playing football. In fact, in 1907 over 17 players, 5 from Harvard died getting run over in games. Congress was even gonna out law the game because it was such a national disgrace until Teddy Roosevelt called the colleges in and said you're gonna have some rules and run plays and spread things out. They outlawed the flying wedge which was the main culprit in killing players. Goodell would have had a heart attack just watching those games. The forward pass was born and the NFL was born 18 years later. But today guys will sit out with a busted toe. I played with a broken hand at my lowly level as a kid after my own RB ran over it after I wiped out the right side of the line. /Vince Lombardi's son was on TV talking about how he injured his knee trying out for his college team. It was just before the big game and he needed to play to make the team. He told his dad he wasn't going to make the team. So Vince brought the team doctor home with him who examined the knee and he said it was fine, just sprained a litte. No broken bones or torn liagaments. Vince said you will run on that knee and you will make that team. The son said I ran and gained 100 yds and made the team while the knee hurt like hell. He was crying his eyes out.

Well they pulled some surprised inspections on teams in reference to drug use. SF, TB, Seattle were visited by agents. Teams left on schedule. Damn, our bye week couldn't come fast enough. DEA spokesman Rusty Payne confirmed the existence of the investigation and said it was triggered by a class-action lawsuit filed in federal court in May by more than 1,300 retired NFL players. In the suit, they allege that NFL medical staffs regularly violate federal and state laws in plying their teams with powerful addictive narcotics such as Percocet and Percodan, sleeping pills such as Ambien and the non-addictive painkiller Toradol to help them play through injuries on game days. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/federal-drug-agents-launch-surprise-inspections-of-nfl-teams-following-games/2014/11/16/5545c84e-6da5-11e4-8808-afaa1e3a33ef_story.html

Talk about negatives. I got my ass kicked good on another board for mentioning Joe in the same sentence as Boller. I was just comparing Joe for this year. He hasn't beaten any good teams yet this year and has done nothing since SB 47. This year he seems like Boller making some head scratching decisions, not reading defenses, locking on to his receivers, not seeing the unbalanced blitzes vs Cinci in week 1 etc, etc. Like with Boller, Joe's probs seem all mental. There was a big article that HARBs had to pull Kubes out of deep film study to work with Joe on the things he does understand about his system. Joe has had trouble learning this system and shouldn't have afterbeing in the league since 08 and winning the SB. So just this afternoon on radio, the guys were saying Joe can't carry the team unless everyone is working on all cylinders. Earlier, SR was doing well and Torrey wasn't, but now its SR having probs and Torrey doing well. JJ hasn't done well receiving. The line has probs again like in Pissburgh. Everything has to be working well for Joe to win. That's just my humble opinion on some message boards and if nobody likes it tough shit. The can go screw themselves.

WOW - So much for parity but how about them Browns. It might be time to change our opinion of them. Pettine is doing a great job. He was Rex's right hand up there, then went to Buffalo and got the Browns job by default. No one else wanted it-lol. Didn't Kubiak turn it down?

Ravens can go from worse to first this weekend? Looking ahead to NEXT weekend, can Joe Flacco and the offense keep up with Drew Brees and the Saints in the dome on Monday Night Football? The Ravens are on a much-needed bye this week, but hopefully they can pick up some ground in the division anyway. Bert locks it up, saying that every AFC North team will lose this week (which should horrify all purple faithful, due to Bert’s awful lock it up record). If Bert is proven right, the Ravens can go from worst to first this weekend.

Ravens would have another win or two like in Indy when they stopped running the ball and were getting 9 yds pr carry. Pisses me off every time. Also, yesterday, the Ravens ran out the clock in 2d half running the ball. Joe got clobbered in the first half but line settled down in 2d half and did some great blocking for RBs. Pierce and Taliaferro too.
-
That happens when Joe isn't as rushed as well. There was one play in 2d half with Forsett wide open on a swing pass and Joe missed him by 10 yards. He had time but Forsett could have gained a big one. Joe seems to have gone backwards since SB 47. He's always locking on to his receivers.

We should beat Tenn. We even have our under cover agent down there to sabotage their line with false starts - Michael Oher.

Per Kevin Byrne via Aaron Wilson - Sunspot. This is turning into the 07 season with both Jimmy and Webbie out. www.baltimoreravens.com

This is a far cry from the Rice case with the national uproar. There's a ton of jokes on all the boards including my own but this was seduction and a criminal act vs a child.

Great points guys and great point on HARBs looking for an out. Theres these Michigan rumors but Michigan is doing pretty well in Big 10 and thats HARBs buddies and Mattison is with him. They were all at Western Kentucky with pop - Jack HARBs. I tend to think they're just average but weve had Webbie out all year. He has never been at full strength and now Jimmy is out so its no wonder they can stop the pass. They just cut Chykie and Franks. That definitely makes them mediocre until Jimmy and Webbie are on the same page together. They gotta draft a CB in first round this year.

ooops. double post.
