colincac
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefterUpdate: Ravens are sending multiple third-day draft picks to Jacksonville in exchange for OT Eugene Monroe. Offensive line play has been horrendous but, in my plain sight opinion, I wasn't putting that all on McKinnie frankly. Can't really hate on 4th round+ compensation though. Brian McFarland @RavensSalaryCapTrade 4 Monroe sort of explains quick hook 4 Thompson. His release saved $367K & put Ravens $1.580M under Cap. Will need more moves 4 Monroe They must be cutting McKinnie... or perhaps getting a few people to do some restructuring. http://tracking.si.com/2013/10/01/jaguars-agree-to-trade-eugene-monroe-to-ravens/https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/05/10/two-who-missed-the-list-jennings-and-monroe/ UPDATE Re: McKinnieWill be interesting to see what they can do if not McKinnie. Perhaps extend Monroe and limit his cap hit this year? Brian McFarland @RavensSalaryCapBryant McKinnie's base salary is now fully guaranteed, so they probably won't release him since there's no Cap relief . Just a back-up now
oldno82
Where in the hell did this come from? I'm speechless.! What's the take here: good move or bad? One thing for sure, it's sends a message.

OutsideRzAcE
I love it. Ozzie doesn't do panic moves so apparently McKinnie was a bigger issue than we realized. Even if he wasn't the problem, it's clear the Line needs help and this guy appears to be a steal. If only they could have worked Mercedes Lewis into the deal. tgann68
Love this move. This overall #9 pick could replace most on our line right now is safe...well maybe Yanda but the rest aren't. Bring in that high level competition and let's win some games! ;)
Oldschool739
I told you nervous Nellies, the sky wasn't falling.......Every season is a process of instituting new players, coaches and plays, you have to plan and execute til you get it as good as you can.....When the dust settles, we'll be in that number..... Gitty Up !!!!
oldno82
This could solve our LT problem for years.

vmax
A reporter asked defensive lineman Chris Canty if the trade for Monroe was a sign of desperation. This is the Ravens' first trade during the regular season in their 18 years of existence. "It's a sign that this team wants to win and win now," Canty said. "We're not going to accept anything less than a championship performance."http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/1569/rice-explains-what-really-needs-to-change Agree Colin...I like Ray's comment.Maybe they will wake up now and realize that they are getting everybody's best shot this year and they have to match that intensity. oldno82
Absolutely agree Colin. Rice is right and I've noted a dropoff in intensity this year especially on the O-line.
oldno82
Do they need to cut Dickson for cap room for Monroe?

Robjr83
I've always liked Bajema. Maybe he looked different in practice but on game day he seemed like the only TE we had that consistently caught the ball.

I don't get it, Dickson couldn't catch a cold, naked in a blizzard but yet they keep that bum here, go figure !! Goooo Ravens !!!!
Robjr83
I keep hearing "potential" with Dickson. Boller had potential... Cody had potential... Kindle had potential.... at some point they become a bust.

oldno82
I definitely would have kept Bajema over Dickson. I've never seen Bajema drop a ball and he blocks. I'm still waiting and getting more and more pissed that Furstenburg hasn't been at least given a chance. He could not be any worse than whats been playing.
vmax
I love picking up Monroe....great move. Considering where the Ravens draft they will never draft a guy this good at LT. Brilliant. As for Bajama....he gives his all which works out to being a very low tier TE.
