thundercleetz Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I'm not sure about that picutre specifically, but here's what I found: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_burn http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichtenberg_figure Lichtenberg figures may also appear on the skin of lightning strike victims. These are reddish, fernlike patterns that may persist for hours or days. They are also a useful indicator for medical examiners when determining the cause of death. Lichtenberg figures appearing on people are sometimes called lightning flowers, and they are thought to be caused by the rupture of capillaries under the skin due to the passage of the lightning current or the shock wave from the lightning discharge as it flashes over the skin.[11] Quote

Spen Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 I try to have some sort of plan for everything. My plan if I ever get struck by lightening and survive is to slowly stand up, then look at my hands. Then raise them in the air and yell in a deep voice, "I now have the power of the gods", then sprint away.Hopefully there are witnesses. 1 Quote
dc. Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Cleetz - precisely, I have seen those markings but never anything like the pic. Quote
dc. Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Very cool video from the campers. Always wondered what lightning looked like at that distance as it strikes. Quote

ForceEight Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 They got that crap from Sweet Home Alabama. Ha! It doesn't look quite like that, but something called fulgurite can form if the lightning was hot enough. It's kind of ugly, but sometimes can wash up as somewhat cool looking pebbles. Quote
oldcrow Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 it happened in the movie Planet of the apes cravn your picture looks like plastic pail and plastic shovel struck. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUyYBrlF_W8 A Most Wanted Man is a damned fine character study. It is not James Bond. I think this is what the CIA is really like. I also saw Lucy. While not perfect there is some really cool ideas and visuals in it. I wish it had had a coupel more rewrites before they filmed it. I wish it had had a coupel more rewrites before they filmed it.I think it's based on a book by the same guy who wrote Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Great acting but they can be very hard to get into - that one more so perhaps because it was all about British SIS which I know a bit less about. Bet Hoffman nails it. Man will I miss him. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 He was very good. Rachel McAdams fell out of her accent every once and awhile. They should have left Robin Wright as a blond. She is distracting with black hair. But all and all it is very good. Quote
