tsylvester Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 that was my guestimate a while back. They will come to regret it. I ould be surprised if they release him shortly after year two. Can't wait to see how they structured it.. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 And I would agree with that. The question is what kind of offense will the run. If they cater to his abilities he will be fine. If you want him to grow then you are screwed. The 9ers are on the way to be a hole again. Quote

If you want him to grow then you are screwed. The 9ers are on the way to be a hole again. They will use him just as they used Crabtree, and they play Seattle & the Rams twice each year. Even with all Seatle lost on defense, they can still cover him easily. So that is four games per year he will likely be shut out.... Quote

tsylvester Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Smith isn't anywhere as polished at Crabtree was. Nope, he may be faster but Crab is a better route runner and more consistant with his hands, not that -that is saying much, Quote
vmax Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Sorry to see Torrey go but glad the Ravens didn't pay him that much. Quote
oldno82 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Sorry to see Torrey go but glad the Ravens didn't pay him that much. With you on that. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Feel bad...that team is going to shit, quick Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I don't think we will sign Crabtree. He is coming off of a rookie deal so we would lose a potential compensatory pick from Torrey and McPhee's big deals. I would love lesser receivers such as Cecil Shorts or D. Moore. However, same as above both guys are coming off of rookie deals so they are unlikely. Dwayne Bowe, Percy Harvin, Andre Johnson (if he hasn't signed with the Colts) or Stevie Johnson are more likely targets. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Stevie is the only one I like out of your list. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Yeah. He was pretty good for a while up there. As a dirt cheap vet i think he would be a solid option. Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Any of those guys at a bargain will be a better value than Torrey. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I don't think Bowe would be. I have zero belief in him. Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Was Stevie with the Bills?Johnson was with the Niners last season after being with the Bills. I don't think Bowe would be. I have zero belief in him. What makes you have belief in Johnson? I don't have an opinion just curious. I think all the guys on my list offer potential being they played in bad offenses with subpar QB play. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 He was pretty productive in Buf. i think he can be had for below market value now. As a #3 or 4 WR I think he can produce way more than being paid for. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Basically I think he couldbe had for $1.5 per and pull in 30 balls for about 380 yds. That is more than solid production for the cap hit. Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Damn Andre Johnson just got $7M a year from Indy! Quote
cravnravn Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That is a bad contract for Indy.Considering their d is pathetic, yes it is, so is the Gore contract.. Quote

That is more than solid production for the cap hit.You could get that production out of Marlon Brown or Camp. None of the guys out there really inspire confidence. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I agree with that. I would pile on the talent to overwhelm defenses. Quote
