Spen Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Yeah another new OC..... That'll fix the Flacco led offense. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 They can't even run a screen, we ran screens in pop warner! That is not on Flacco, that is coaching of the offensive line & backs... Yet teams can run screens against this vaunted defense because they are undisciplined.. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Marty is another friend like Cam so he will not want to fire him. His hiring method is nepotism. Quote
varaven45 Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Nepotism - yep, its a slippery slope in any workplace. Quote

The entire fan base was ready to see another offensive coordinator at the end of last season. The Ravens kept Marty Mornhinweg on for one reason, and one reason alone. They were tired of looking for offensive coordinators. The Ravens fired Marc Trestman in the midst of the 2016 season. Mornhinweg took over as the interim coordinator, and the Ravens did the easy thing (not the right thing). I have been on the record of saying that Mornhinweg should not be fired. Like I said before, it won’t accomplish anything. The Ravens will still have problems all over the offense. I stand by my assertion that firing Mornhinweg would be pointless. The Ravens could have fixed this problem in January. The take home message is that this problem could have been avoided. If the Ravens fired Mornhinweg after their 8-8 falter last year, they wouldn’t have to talk about it this year. There is no offensive coordinator that could make this work like a well oiled machine. It still seems that getting new ideas into the room would be a good idea. What could it hurt? Keeping Mornhinweg is like driving with the maintenance needed light flashing on your car. You know there is something wrong, and avoiding it can’t make it better. Eventually the whole thing is going to break down and things only get worse from there. Mornhinweg was never the right man for the job. The Ravens could have admitted it and found a creative young quarterbacks coach, or an offensive coordinator with a good reputation. Instead, Harbaugh insisted that he didn’t have a problem. That was wrong. Quote

According to ESPN Stats & Information, the last time a team had that big of a negative difference from one year to another came six years ago, when the Indianapolis Colts were without injured Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos were in the midst of "Tebow-mania," relying on a telegenic passer who struggled with accuracy and reading defenses. The Ravens' problems -- which has caused the passing game to go from No. 12 in the NFL last season to No. 31 right now -- has spanned from Flacco's poor decisions, dropped passes by the receivers, shoddy protection at times from a makeshift offensive line and an overall lack of cohesion. That is a gigantic drop off. papasmurfbell Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 https://ebonybird.com/2017/10/18/time-ravens-give-kubiak-call/ It is time for Baltimore Ravens to give Gary Kubiak a call?It was said that Kubiak found “contentment” with being the Ravens offensive coordinator. If that’s true, maybe he would be willing to come back. He could save the ravens from their anemic offensive scheme. If only he were healthy. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 The stat is miss leading, they didn't throw many passes in the first few games. But the premise is good... Kubes is not coming out of retirement, even if he did the Broncos hold his rights. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 I know he isn't. He isn't healthy enough. Quote
