Week 3 Ravens Vs Patriots

Just in case...if last week is lingering.......giphy.webp

"We can’t dwell on that,” Jackson said. "It’s still early in the season. We’ve got to focus. We’ve got 15 more games left of the regular season. We aren’t going to let this loss define us.”

The Ravens are 3-point favorites, and they need to right this ship really quick and take advantage of the opportunity of the other AFC North teams losing.  The Ravens have never won a regular season game in New England. They are 2-10 there all time.

Dobbins, Jones, Proche, Stephens and Stanley are all questionable at this time.

The Ravens only have 2 OLB's on their roster. Yea....a little irresponsible. Jason Paul Piere is at the Castle today. Maybe they sign him. Nobody else wants him. Why not? ...Eric?.....image.jpeg.62ac1b8470126920e5d7fd2ffac0d398.jpeg

Linebacker Odafe Oweh has received defensive grades under 50 from Pro Football Focus in each of the first two games this season. That only happened to him once last season as a rookie.

the Ravens are getting a whopping 2.6 ypc from runners other than Jackson.

Why didn't they use Hill more?

Will Belichick outfox the Ravens again with a trick play? Oh...Mac Jones can throw the deep ball. Somebody tell Macdonald.

9. Baltimore Ravens (1-1)

Week 2 ranking: 6rd-arrow.png

Biggest early adjustment: Turn the run game around

The return of running back J.K. Dobbins can't happen soon enough. Dobbins, who has been out since suffering a devastating left knee injury 13 months ago, represents Baltimore's best hope of getting a once-proud run game back on track. With Kenyan Drake and Mike Davis, the Ravens' running backs have totaled 79 yards rushing in the first two games of the season. That's the fewest of any running back group in the NFL. The Ravens will struggle to finish out games if they can't run out the clock like they've done in the past. -- Jamison Hensley

Fastest in the NFL.

The Pats have a bad offensive line, if the Ravens can't get to a statue of a qb, then we have bigger problems.

Jones is accurate, but his receivers are all possession types. The defense should rebound.

Their defense will like play the same type coverage the Phins employed. Lamar should feast once again as the Pat's do not have the talent to pull off that coverage, consistently.

Now, can the Ravens run the ball?

It's not the loss that defines them.  It's the way they have played that does.  The jets are so putrid we pulled a win.

The pats can run though.  We are vulnerable to the run.  If I'm Bill I jam that ball down our throats until 9 are in tg3 box.

Imagine Lamar Jackson will be asked about this during his press availability after practice, but he was wearing a sleeve on his right arm and he didn't seem to be doing his usual amount of throwing early in practice. Media, however, can only watch a small portion of practice.

LT Ronnie Stanley was practicing for Ravens and he seemed to be doing a bit more than what we've seen him doing in recent practice weeks.

Here's a good article on Tucker....

Quote

As he has done before every game and practice since college, Tucker will finish his warm-ups with a kick from the right hashmark, 48 yards out. It was from that exact distance 20 years ago that Tucker's idol, Adam Vinatieri, kicked a last-second field goal to lift the New England Patriots to their first Super Bowl victory, 20-17, over the St. Louis Rams.

"To me, this is one of the biggest kicks that's ever been, if not the biggest kick that's ever been made," Tucker told ESPN. "This [routine] just puts myself in that mindset, each and every day. How am I going to approach this kick and this moment when it arrives?

"That's one of the greatest parts of sports, seeing one guy propel his team to that winning moment."

Tucker's 91.1% accuracy on field goal attempts is the best in NFL history. And he's not only the most accurate, but he's also the best in high-pressure situations. He has converted 59 straight field goals in the fourth quarter -- including a 51-yarder Sunday in Miami -- and overtime, which is the longest active streak in the league. That includes an NFL-record 66-yarder last season in the closing moments of a 19-17 win in Detroit.....How the Baltimore Ravens' Justin Tucker became one of the NFL's all-time greatest kickers (espn.com)

Baldinger makes a Bold Prediction...

White jersey's Sunday....Image

"Hopefully, we'll just have a balanced offense and not just a heavy run and sometimes throw or heavy throwing and sometimes run – just keep it balanced," Jackson said Wednesday. "And I feel like the sky is the limit for us."

No one knows for sure how Brownie the Elf became the Browns' mascot. But it was Art Modell who put the elf on the shelf.

  "My first official act as owner of the Browns will be to get rid of that little f---er." :yeah:

• The Patriots are one of five teams Harbaugh doesn’t have a regular-season win against on the road. The other four are the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals.

• The Ravens are averaging 28.3 points a game on the road since 2019, the third most in the NFL.

• A week after leaving the Dolphins game early and entering the concussion protocol, wide receiver and All-Pro return man Devin Duvernay is expected to play Sunday barring a setback.

• Harbaugh also said that rookie third-round defensive tackle Travis Jones, who hurt his knee late in the preseason, is healthy and could make his debut Sunday.

• An interception Sunday for safety Marcus Williams would make him the first Raven to have an interception in three straight games since Cary Williams in 2012.

• Judon is one sack away from 50 for his career.

• Peters and Patriots safety Devin McCourty both have 31 interceptions, currently tied for the most among active players.

• Cornerback Shaun Wade, who was drafted by the Ravens in the fifth round in 2021 and traded to the Patriots about four months later for two draft picks, has yet to see action for New England this year and played just three games last season.

• Sunday’s game is the Patriots’ 2022 home opener. They’ve won 17 of their past 20 home openers at Gillette Stadium.

• Ravens special teams coordinator Chris Horton and Patriots special teams ace Matthew Slater were once roommates at UCLA.First-and-10: Key matchups and subplots for Ravens-Patriots, plus a prediction - The Athletic

Is Dobbins ever playing again ? He’s a definite maybe every Sunday.  What up ?

Good to see you va!

I think we see him Sunday. He's had 2 full weeks of practice. Hill should see more PT too.

Drake and Davis need to take a seat. It's not all on them. The blocking has been sub par.

Max, took a little sabbatical but glad be back.I hope you are well Max.

Man, hard to figure this team.  Until we get a healthy Dobbins and Gus, the O looks one dimensional.  Lamar can’t do it all.  And the defense 🤔🤨

Clueless about tomorrow.  If the D steps up and makes a big play or two, we can take it:

if not and we make Matt Jones look like Brady, well …….

It looks like another coin toss outcome and maybe a Justin Tucker game.

Go Ravens 👍
