cravnravn Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) This is what football about!!! AFCN is on the line, playoff spots are on the line. Stealer Fans wont admit it, but they stole a page from Flaccos book and dink and dunked all day long against the #32 ranked pass D yesterday. That aint working against us. vmax Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I'm very concerned about the offense.Counting the Jaguars game and yesterdays 1st half, that's 6 quarters of stinking it up. LeBow will do the things those defenses did to throw the O in quicksand. The one good thing: as usual, the defense will keep it close if the offense doesn't turn it over and gift wrap it to the Steelers. This team is not good on the road this year and they are turning it over at an alarming rate.Stupid penalties are happening too frequently too. A ton is at stake. This is a must win game. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 This team is not good on the road this year and they are turning it over at an alarming rate.Stupid penalties are happening too frequently too. Yes, turnovers and stupid penalties have been a big factor in our offensive slump, and that's the Ravens definitely need to focus on squashing that if they want to win. . The Ravens still have a shot, especially if Woodley misses this game (he hurt his hammy against NE), and Harrison stays out with that eye socket fracture. There is a big drop-off in their pass rush if those two sit out. Right now it looks iffy on both. By resigning Max Starks a couple of weeks ago, the Steelers O-line has also improved since we played them last. They still suck, but they are no longer abysmal. Suggs, Ngata, and Co need to do to them what they did in week 1. No time for Ben, period. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Wood already said he's going amd we dinked and dunked it all over the titans earlier this year. Here is what should worry you yesterday the steelers played man to man all game so that is just one more thing flacco is going to have to recognize. So we can dink amd dunk or kill you deep something 50% flacco cant do. 6 different starters since week 12the bmac doesnt even see the field anymore and he was the starter and tgis will be 3the straight weeks the steelers oline has played together. The steelers are rolling at the right time. Throw week 1the out of your minds this is a different team and like you said its in pittsburgh on sunday night that place is going to be rocking amd you suck on the road. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 yea ok slow down buddy....we are not the pats d. please try to dink and dunk on our d and see how that works out for ur wideouts and qb Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 We can do either that's what makes this offense so dangerous. Take away deep we go short take away short we go deep. Brown is coming on extremely strong. This is a different team from week 1 Quote
cravnravn Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Still the same Steelers, minus 2 key ingredients in Woodley & Harrison Quote
varaven45 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Sounds like a typical Steeler-Raven snot knocker to me ! Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Better check again wood is going he already said so. The biggest thing is no bmac and we just shut down brady hell since bmac got demoted we have shut down every qb we have seen. Also yinz suck on the road throw in its a sunday nighter and that spells doom for the ravens. We are going to be the angry team this time beating us the way you did week 1 only helps us out. Quote
varaven45 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Yep. Since we took yinz out behind the woodshed in week 1, conventional wisdom says yinz will reciprocate by similar beatdown score. Perhaps yinz will, maybe not. We will see Sunday night. , Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I dont think we blow you guys out but i think we win Quote
vmax Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 This is a better Ravens defense than the one that held the Steelers to 7 in week one. That game was an aberation...throw it out. Historicly these games are always close smog knockers. Even if Woodley plays he won't be 100%..that's huge for the Ravens. For sure the Steelers won't turn the ball over 7 times but Ben will be running for his life if he tries to go long and then the bad things will start to happen for the Steelers. It's not a juggernault offense against the good or decent defenses. That's why they are playing flag football. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Worilds will be back for the steelers as well. He has shown some glimpses that he can be a real nfl talent. Hes a lot like woodley only a little faster. Quote
Preacher Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 All these guesses about this week cracks me up. There are only two facts going into this game that matter. 1. It's a Ravens-Steelers game, which means nobody has a clue who is going to win and. . . 2. Last weeks games, last month's games, the last time these two teams played, doesn't matter. You can have a Steelers team that is the 32nd team in the NFL in standings playing against a number 1 Ravens team, and it will still be a "slap your mother, kick your father, throw the dog over the back fence" family brawl. Beyond that well, This game just sets up whether the final meeting will be played in Pittsburgh or Baltimore. As much as it kills me to say it as a Steelers fan, I love what the Ravens bring out in the Steelers, and you know giving ANY praise to you guys is like cutting off my one foot. Quote
RavensDomination Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 If Woodley doesn't play I like the Ravens chances. If he plays I don't think Joe will have enough time to produce with any consistency. Quote
vmax Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Carroll: The Steelers are running out of linebackers. While they should get James Harrison back in the near future, being without both Harrison and Woodley for any period of time is a definite issue — the speed/size combo is tough to replace. It’s a simple hamstring strain for Woodley, but he’s the type of player that the medical staff will need to watch closely. It’s worse when players try to come back and do more than they can, putting them back to square one.Who takes Woodley’s spot?: Rookie Chris Carter filled in against New England, but that’s a major drop-off from Woodley. Carter has a grand total of three tackles in his NFL career. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Max, I dont care who is hurt or out ? The Steelers could put Napolean Kryptonite at MLB and he would play lights out Sunday night. That team w/o Farrior,Harrison and Woodley (2nd half) put the dang clamps on Brady and made him look like Kyle Boller. The Steelers are deep at LB and LeBeau will compensate with his secondary and creative schemes. Tomlin will have his boys pumped. It will be a bloodbath ! Quote
deeshopper Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Max, I dont care who is hurt or out ? The Steelers could put Napolean Kryptonite at MLB and he would play lights out Sunday night. Do you mean Napoleon Dynamite? Cause that would be hilarious! Quote
varaven45 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Dee, Thanks ....,a Freudian slip I supppose ! Actually, LeBeau could probably turn that dude into another Jack Lambert ! Quote
vmax Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Everything helps with the state of the Ravens offensive line.In week 1 they only sacked Joe once with only 3 QB hits. Joe needs a little time and space and he may get it. It will help the running game too. It comes down to turnovers...as usual and pressure creates them. Quote

Woodley Out If Harrison does not play against Baltimore, the Steelers likely will have three of their four starting linebackers out. Linebacker LaMarr Woodley, who leads the AFC with nine sacks, has a left hamstring injury that likely will keep him out, and James Farrior has a torn calf muscle that could keep him out another month. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11305/1186561-66.stm Quote
yagersports Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I don't think the key to a Ravens victory is the injuries the Steelers have. We need to start playing football with consistency. That's our demon. That's our challenge. We conquer that, and I don't care if the Steelers are at full strength, they can't beat us period. We're a deeper and better team talent wise, but we're not a stronger team heart wise and mind wise. That's why we lost in the playoffs last year. We really need to "grow up" as a team and play with purpose and consistency. I feel that growth is on the shoulders of Flacco and Cam. If those two can get through whatever it is they're going through, we can be Green Bay good. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Good points Yager ! I would add character and chemistry to missing elements in this years squad. But its not too late.. We could take a big step in the right direction Sunday night. Quote
cravnravn Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 I want a SB at all cost, if it means the Steelers are decimated by injuries, so be it!!!!! Quote
