Cold Truth

But he was not getting yds that makes a D respect the run early on so they stop having to respect the run. Later they sold out to stop Joe and Ray could gouge for yds. If they had a RB that had some weight to be a hammer then he would get off more than RR is in what they have concocted this yr.

Papa, they do need a hammer...a tough runner who can get tough yardage. Jamal Lewis was such a guy. Unfortunately, these guys don't grow on trees.

Ray needs more touches, I agree, but they can't run him into a wall 25 times a game like Lewis did.

I unlike many half stupid fans look at how the number were gained. At least one of those last 2 runs was a draw and maybe both. That tells me they used the pass to set up what few runs they tried later on.

They do have Anthony Allen on this roster. Maybe a heavy dose of him early on would allow RR to get off later on for long runs.

Use Leach as a runner instead of a receiver.

One person who thinks Rice should get more touches is linebacker Ray Lewis.

“If that talent right there isn’t touching the ball 25-30 times, then you have to kind of question yourself,” Lewis said. “Ray Rice is definitely one of those talents that has to get our offense going.”

Lewis compared Rice to former Ravens running back Jamal Lewis, the organization’s all-time leading rusher.

“He’s that type of player,” Lewis said of Rice.

Lewis mentioned the Ravens Super Bowl season in 2000, comparing the current situation with Rice to the number of carries that Jamal Lewis got during consecutive games that season. In a four-game stretch, Lewis never carried the ball more than 20 times, and the Ravens went 1-3.

In the team’s final 11 games (including postseason), Lewis averaged 28.7 carries per game, and the Ravens won the Super Bowl.

“When those stats changed, we never lost another game,” Lewis said. “Sometimes those things have to happen to put you in position to understand.”

He is also the guy who said Kyle Boller is a warrior and will be good.

So you are saying you take every quote from a teammate completely 100% as truth? Have you followed sports before? Imagine a world where everyone takes everything a player says about a teammate 100% seriously.
