cravnravn Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 We need to stop blaming Cam for Joes horrible play. Cam didnt go 18 for 34 for 188 yards. Cam dint throw at a 51% completion rate. I think we have seen the best Joe has to offer. It wouldntt suprise me one bit if Bisquit lets Joe test the free agent market. And you know a team will offer him a contract. Miami. Oakland zona all need qbs. Sunday was the icing. We had leads of 10 points and a lead of 7 into the 4th quarter and you know what i had the same gut feeling that i used to get with Vinny. I said Joe is going to turn it over. Just have a feeling we will be watching Joes last 4 games in purple. Quote
deeshopper Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Just have a feeling we will be watching Joes last 4 games in purple. I doubt that. But the window is being nailed shut. Another year, another opportunity to help themselves squandered. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I do not think Cam puts his parts in the position to let them shine the most. Joe is very good not elite. I think he can win a SB. He just can't carry a team there. Quote
Robjr83 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I was never a big Joe fan, but I honestly believe a lot of this is on Cam. An OC should play to his team's strengths and weaknesses. The lines been horrible this year so why does Cam call deep dropbacks for Joe? When did Joe do his best in SD? During the hurry up without Cam's interference. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I missed it this morning on Norris and Davis. They replayed it on Rob's show. Keon Carpenter said just from him seeing some Ravens that he can see that Torrey only runs flag, go, and post routes. Q works short. So you defend the deep for Torrey and hit Q to mess up the route. Quote
dc. Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 And Q only runs short outs and hitches... he doesn't run over the middle. Pitta and Dickson, when healthy, simply run 5-10 yard outs and comebacks. You'll never see Doss, Williams or Jones anywhere but near the sidelines. The only player you'll see in the middle of the field is Ray Rice. And even he runs the wheel around to the flag route several times a game. Silly. There is never ANYONE in the middle of the field on this offense. The few times I see it - it succeeds. Again, like Pitta's 19yd first down. A slant to between the hashes... just him against the ILB. Easy enough to get it to him. But never called. Compare that to where you see Hernandez, Welker, Gronk, etc in NE. They devour the middle of the field. Hell, compare it to what Batch did to us... took advantage of deep safeties and struggling ILB. Franchise Tag carrys 15-16 million dollars with it, ya think they are going to pay Joe that? I dont, I bet they let him test the waters. Quote

In fact, hardly any passes over the middle. Maybe our guys are afraid they'll get creamed there? Quote
vmax Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) You can get to and win a Super Bowl with Flacco. He's not Elite and never will be. He is inconsistent but it's a rare QB in the NFL who isn't. Eli Manning, Rivers, Dalton, Romo, Ryan, Cutler, Stafford, Wilson...all are inconsistent. There's a ton who are way worse than Joe.It's a team sport....you win in 3 phases: offense, defense and special teams. The Ravens have been hit with serious injuries on the defense. They have been giving up a ton of yards, giving up leads, losing field position and time of possesion...all this hurts the offense. They are pulling guys off special teams to fill the voids. The offense is healthy so they have no excuse but they defended themselves better than anybody can by not using the best fullback and RB in the NFL. They are the unit who is dragging ass. It's not just Joe. It's all of them...Cam and Harbaugh too.Joe threw 4 bombs to Torry...all incomplete and that is a wasted down which leads to 3rd and long and against a good D like the Steelers that spells trouble. It was...only 3 of 11 3rd down conversions. But it was the D that made Batch look 15 years younger. The D. FYI: If the Ravens were in the NFC they'd have the second best record in that conference. Most teams have been inconsistent this year. We just happen to mainly watch the Ravens but there are a lot of 7-5 and 5-7 teams who's fans are going just as crazy as we are. It's called ADVERSITY guys. That's what this team is going through because of injuries, age for Ray and Ed, and not enough depth to get the job done. No pass rushers. It's patched up everywhere. So what to you do with this mess?YOU COACH.The winning coaches, the best coaches,... create the game plans and schemes to win with whoever they have even if it's the last man standing. Max, Well said sir ! I trust you are recuperating well. Back to your points. It's been a struggle, a grind, all year long. It will no doubt continue. Our team, like EVERY team, has issues and challenges. It's how you respond to issues and adversity. That really defines our team. It will be interesting to see how this team responds in the remaining games. Hey, it's the NFL and anything can happen. Quote
cravnravn Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Max we had the 2nd best record in tje AFC at 3:55 on Sunday. Last year was our golden opportunity to get to the bowl. That was Joe's pinnacle. Hes proving that he needs a top 5 defense to carry him. He has become way to inconstant and cannot take control of a game and finish it. Its going to be a very busy off season e could be possibly aftrt a qb, mlb, safeguard, center Quote

OutsideRzAcE Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Cravn, Joe isn't going anywhere, nor should he. He's still 9-3, and I don't agree that he needs a top 5 defense to carry him. How many games can you say were won by the defense (or in spite of Joe? KC, SD, Pitt). Joe has 3 or 4 clunker losses a year, this is what separates him from the stud QB's. But he has proven this year he doesn't need a top 5 defense to carry him. I think the Ravens will franchise him...if they let him test the waters he'll be gone. They'd be nuts to let Joe go without a good plan B, and there are no good plan B's in free agency this year. Redskins down to thier 4th and 5th string CB's. This sets up nicely for Joe to have a nice rebound game. Quote
cravnravn Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 We will see. Its an away game do you really like our chances in DC? Quote

varaven45 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 We will see. Its an away game do you really like our chances in DC? I thought , most of us thought the beat up Steelers D at home, with a chance to clinch AFCN , was the perfect signature game opp for joe. Oh well. I'll say this about Skins game: RGIII will have a monster game with mega fantasy numbers and Alfred Morris will run all over our slow D. Those two are a lethal combo and the Skins could easily Put up 400 yds and 30 points and Dean Peas will be pooping his pants up in the press box. RG made the Giants look like a geriatric unit and Charlie Batch carved us up. This could get real, real ugly for our D. Meanwhile, Joe will have an opportunity to throw it all over the place. The Skins secondary is their Achilles,, 1 starting CB was just suspended, Hall is dinged up/in a walking boot, and their pass rush is worse than ours. Our offense- even Cam led - could have a big game. But then again it's Cam. If Joe ever needed a huge game, this is it ! Quote
vmax Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 We will see. Its an away game do you really like our chances in DC? The Indigenous Persons are 3-3 at home....the best they have been in years, which is not saying much. They are scoring 22.5 ppg at home. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 We will see. Its an away game do you really like our chances in DC? I think Joe will rebound this week. Like VA, I am more worried about the defense. Ellerbe better be in a hyperbolic chamber or something. They will need his speed. Quote
