Yeah, I don't understand this one, unless no one else wanted the job. This is a great recruiting area, tv time is fabulous with the Big 10, playing against top tier talent. With all the experienced coaches out there, they go for him?
-
He did what? Aiken has been developing each year. He has been force fed passes since Smith sr went down. That does not qualify as "developing" anyone; it is up to the player to perform. He is turning into a tough receiver ala Boldin. But his routes still stink and his hands are still suspect. Tresman has done nothing but help defenses build stats because of obvious and terrible play calls.....
-
A complete team loss, even Tucker is playing him self into a low contract. Those calling for Joe to go, need only look to Green Bay and Aaron Rogers, how has he done the past 3 weeks. How about Manning more picks than completions and he was benched? even Brady, two fumbles, one lost, a pick(should have been two).... Maybe now, finally, the front office and coaching staff wakes up and stops this; we are close thinking, and gets some real plans done to fix this team. Get rid of Dumervil, while it would cause $4 mil in dead money, they will save $2 mil in cap space. Yippie, has has had some good sack numbers the past few years. But none in the play offs, none in the 4th quarter of games when this team needs a stop. He is terrible against the run, so ditch him. That last play Max, quarterback falls down, all the defenders stand around like the play had been called dead. Then Dume strikes...... I don't care what they have to do, but get some one in here who knows how to evaluate and teach receivers..... Ditch both coordinators, we know all about Pees.... Yesterday proved Tresman has to go. One of the fastes men in the NFL and they don't use him to spread the field, open the middle, to go deep but on one play? They force feed a receiver who would be fourth best on any other team trying to turn him into a Boldin type receiver, which leads to three dropped passes, one ended up being picked off. He can't find the ball on deep throws, let a lone fight for the ball. This mantra of throwing it deep into double coverage to draw a penalty has to stop; that is not on Joe, is it a mandate from the coaches. I am not sure who Harbs was fighting with on the sideline, one of the coaches, but some major changes have to to be made and if Harbs doesn't like it, maybe he needs to go. He has not learned anything about game management since he came here. I like him, I think he should stay, but I can see reasons to let him go too.... This is a two-three year rebuild. We have an offensive & defensive line, a quarterback, at least two runningbacks, now fix the rest.

They are getting pressure with the front seven, with the defensive line, the issue is, these guys tire out and can't get the same, consistant pressure later in games. It was much the same last year, even with Suggs and Dumervil, both who disappeared in the 2n half of games and in entire games later in the season. This team, for a few years now, has lost their wind late in games/late in seasons; conditioning.....

Not likely, he was always nicked up in college as well.....

2 things, one just for curiosity sake... do you have permission to use the NFL logo? 2, no chance they take Nkemdiche. The Ravens have enough money tied up in the rush ends and they have a solid, young core group for the defensive line..... I also question the statement of him having the most uip side of any draft eligable defensive player. He often takes plays off, mostly because he is doubt teams a bunch, but is there more to that fact? There are a number of others who have far more upside and your number 2 selection is one of them. Jalen Ramsey can play two positions, his great instincts are why, his athletism takes him over the top. I am not sure he goes #2, maybe top 5, most likely top 8... we shall see.... But he is a better prospect than Robert is at this point.... Yes, it is just my opinion and this is all just for discusion.... No way Boyd is the first wide out taken, no way he goes top five, only the Browns would make that dumb (sorry) of a move and well, you have them taking the linebacker from ND. Ok, you had me rolling with Cardell Jones going top 10, seriously, not even the Texans are that dumb. Limited game exposure, even when he has played, it is a simplified play sheet, reading just half the field, with far better athletes on his side of the ball vs his compition.... Myer has found this out to be very, very true, thus, his benching of the four game wonder.... Scott Mitchel comes to mind.... Ooops that was more than 2 things, my bad,.....

What a game it was.... I just don't get these defenses struggling with the tripple option! It is simply assignment football more than against any other type of offense.... Defensive tackle takes the back, end/lb takes the quarterback (and drills him each & every time) and the corner/ ss lineback gets the pitch man...... Back side corner and safety stay home to defend the pass..... Shoot, I grew up playing against the tripple option.....
-
However, you can't pay a qb, wr, and running back top dollar.... As Papa said, you can plug & place backs most of the time. Fournett is the real deal, when he gets blocking, , he reminds me of Eddie George with the way he gates and runs so up right. But no, I would not draft him in the first two rounds, too many other glaring needs.....
-
Yeah, why not, they have given every corner back & safety in the known universe a chance, may as well try more runningbacks............
-
they are a talented bunch, but injuries have kept them out; no one can plan for them. it is odd though, the number of rookie wide outs with injuries..... by the way, while cooper had a nice game against the stillers, i have never seen a player play so scared,,,,,, he looked terrified out there.....
-
Titans moved quickly, fired their head coach at the bye... We ned a petition to get Clarence Brooks the DC job, after the fire Pees.... Pwees!
-
He has done a great job with that program, but there is a big difference between recruiting for CAA and FCS compared to the Big 10. Even so, I would like to see him get the job if he would be interested.....

That isn't saying much, now is it.... The redzone play calling under Tresman has been atrocious, or is that expealidocious............... What we, all of us need to keep in mind in the final two minutes of games this year, are the players he as to work with. I will gladly pay you tomorrow for a wide receiver today......... Look, these guys struggle to get open, to catch passes, to get any semblance of seperation all game long, and we expect them to all of a sudden to those things in the last two minutes of a game? Has Flacco missed some passes in those last few minutes of each game? Sure, but what QB has not? Rogers, anyone? 77 freaking yards total last night.... But when you have hold the ball a split second longer because these guys need that time to get an inch of seperation, the pressure from the rush gets there quickly, passes are off target by what, a few inches, when these guys have 0, ZERO catch radius..... The failures this season, THIS SEASON mind everyone, to win games at the end, or hold the ball for the final minutes so the defense doesn't get a chance to blow the game, are a combination of many factors, yes, play calling is one factor, Joe is another, by personell, to me, is the biggest issue. Now injuries have forced their hand and some players not living up to what they ave done in the past, have pushe dothers to the forefront. Oh I will give Treman some credit, did everyone notice, in the past two games, the offense has slowed play down, eating as much clock, play clock, as possible to shorten the game and keep the defense off the field as much as possible.....
-
we shall see, rehab for this injury is neithr fun nor easy and when retirement has already been uttered, it has been on the mind long before....
-
I am most intreged to see both GIvens and Ross more in this offense now with Smith Sr out and another piss poor game from Brown, much to my dismay. Ross has the wiggles to work from the slot and run after catch. Givens, we know, is a burner and timing is everything. Should be fun..
-
Wth Beamer retiring, another job opening up, more viable than MD..... beggers can't be chosers....
-
Yeah, he will be a posession receiver in the NFL, with the ability to go deep. He is strong getting off the line of scrimmage, even against Florida, he had no toruble with press coverage. His biggest issue this year is his quarterback and the fact they now have two other real good receivers, Stringfellow being one of them. Another tall, big, strong handed receiver. Both he and Treadwell have great body control and concentration,as you saw in that clip, just one example....
-
He has a major learning curve to go through. I've been watching all season, with a rush in his face against better defenses than Tulsa, not so good... Oh and Papa, in College, Joe hit receivers in stride on deep routes, too.... They all do, but timing gets messed up in the pros for a few years due to many factors.....
-
that was before Pees...........

Spoiled by success? You realize the majority of the people on this board, in this thread are those old enough to remember the 96, 97, 98 seasons, vividly. We also remember the 2002, 2005, & 2007 seasons, very well. We are also the ones who have been saying for the past few years, the drafts have been a bust, not just saying it this year. Most of us old timers also said this season was going to be a bust because of those poor drafts, unlike some others, cough, cough, you, who said this was a Super Bowl team just prior to the start of the season..... Spoiled? Hardly, realists? yes, that is the ticket, we call it as we see it..... Fait weather fans need not apply here. Drafting at the bottom of the round is not a good excuse. This team drafted at the end of the draft many, many times and hit. They have made their money later in the draft and in undrafted players quite well. It is not where you draft, it is how well you draft. Many first rouders, historically, have failed, not just on this team, but overall in the league...... Just because we question does not mean we lack "faith" in the organization. But yes, if changes are not made in the front office & or in the coaching/scouting staff, this team will stay below the Mendoza line. Oh and by the way, this organization does have two Super Bowl wins, but 9 of the seasons (including this one) have been 500 or less. 11 of them have been 9 wins or more. So how is it we could be spoiled?
-
The games being close is a distraction, this team is really, really bad. If the coaches and front office people think; well, the games are close so this team must also be, then we are in for a decade of bad football....
-
sure, what moves can he make in the front office, coaching staff, to turn this thing around. and how does he get me to stop calling him Biscut, it's all gravy....
-
I agree. There are a number of throws he has missed, some rare poor dicisions he has made this year, but none that would turn this season around more than any of the other issues. I will say, something seems off with him this year, some of those throws he normally makes he is way off, contrary to his nature. Take the last play Monday night, he normally makes that throw, why he chose to go to a fade when the defensive back was behind Gilmore has me puzzled. He knows and has made that throw properly in the past, a bullet between the 8 & the 0, not a fade. I am not sure if he is pressing too hard or if something else is bugging him, but he does not seem to be the same so far......

Cooper is a smoother runner, more precise route runner. He reminds me of Jerry Rice. Coop is a decent blocker but that is where Treadwell has the edge. Coop is a bit faster, but Treadwell has better leaping ability and is stronger. Speaking of Cooper, Bama has a freshman right now with the same body type, but looks like he will be even better.....
