  1. True, history says only 1 team will rebound. The Ravens could easily be 2-0 right now, save for one play in each game. Not many teams so far this year can say that, save for the Giants who blew two 14 pt leads in the 4th quarter. The Ravens have played two games on the road, we all knew the first part of the season would be incredibly diifficult, but with two games against division rivals, this season could turn around quickly. I don't know if history repeats it self, looking at the teams that are 0-2 right now, the Giants are in a terrible divison, the SeaHawks should rebound, but then they have some team turmoil going on, so maybe it will be the Ravens.... who knows, it should be fun to watch and answer a lot of questions going into next year when the Ravens will have several free agents and a ton of cap room......
  2. Nice, insult people just because they disagree with you. Smith sr could easily have toe tapped, he has done it before, receivers do it every week end, on that last touchdown pass, high as it was. Just like the week before, Smith sr dropped a game winning touchdown pass; maybe he should bring his lunch box to practice so he can practice a little more...... On the pass to Aiken that was under thrown, Flacco had to back up while throwing because he had a man in his face. Had he not backed up, his arm gets hit ball flounders and is likely picked off... Do you know how to watch a play? Or just follow the ball? The defense forced how many punts? 2, two, TWO punts the entire game. The Raiders were: 2 of 3 in the red zone coverting to touchdowns..... 9 of 14 (64%) on 3rd down. The Ravens had 10 penalties, 10, 2 on the last drive, one of them for 15 yards, the other, bogus, but still called. So it is Flacco's fault the jump ball to Smith sr was called early in the 4th quarter? Or that they tried it again, this time on the other side? That knowing the tight ends would have a great day, when one was already having a great day, when one of their safeties could not tackle because of injury, that the play calling, especially in the red zone, did not include any, none, nadda, zip, plays that involved matching up either of the 6'-5 tight ends? You are entitled to you opinion, one play does not win or lose a game, but one 3rd down stop inside of the final two minutes of the game certainly would have.....
  3. He made a nice comback, , the turnovers didn't help, but you would expect them from a first year starter.
  4. Just to add, Will Hill's 2nd pick should have stood. The back rookie judge, a kid all of about what, 25? Made the wrong call. Hill has the right to the spot he is standing. Just because the receiver runs into him does not mean it is pass interference. I am sure the Ravens will get a letter from the league stating the official made the wrong call.
  5. Every qurterback, everyone, misses throws during a game. The issue was not Joe, he was making throws into tight windows all day. The issue with the offense yesterday was two fold. Not being able to run the ball consistantly and the play calling in the red zone. These stupid jump balls are ridiculous, especially when one of the players is five foot five and the other is 6 feet tall, the shorter one, a reciever. The went to this play too often, it ws obvious what play they were going to run. Show some imagination and may Smith doesn't have to toe touch to win the game, which he failed to do......again............ The loss though,, goes on the defense, dating back to last year's Pats game, no leads are safe, whether they come in the first quarter or the fourth. It is not missing Suggs as the the announcers tried to claim, they were just flat, two steps too slow, again. The entire team was that way, backs were not finishing runs forward, receivers were getting knocked off their feet easily; no push from either lines; all signs of no legs. The sleep on the west coast was a stupid idea.
  6. Do your self a favor, watch this kid tonight against Bama. Prior to breaking his leg last year, he was on pace to make a big name for him self. Now he is back healthy, stronger & faster they say. Now he will go up against better coverage, at least a better defensive line to cause more pressure on the Ole Miss qb. This kid has all the tools, 6'-3" 220 lbs, quickness, "suddeness" as they like to say, speed and a huge catch radius with great hands. IF he comes out next year, he is likely a top 10 pick. I doubt the Ravens will have a chance at him, but if they did, they would be foolish to ignore him.
  7. Yep, both starting safeties out, the Ravens looking to get the passing game going, I could see fantasy numbers for the Monster and maybe even the rookie over the middle..... down the seams......
  8. I go back to the just miss on the touchdown pass Manning threw to Sanders. If they connect on that one, game would have been long over, blow out style. That miss kept the Ravens in it, as much as Joe's pick, which I agree, changed the game.
  9. Eh, we shall see. They are mostly just saying he has a high motor, big deal. 20-25 snaps per game max. He is better against the run, though not great, than Freeney is, so I can see them wanting him over Dwight (who is reportedly in great shape just waiting for this exact situation). So glad they at least did not take Phillips. One year vet min deal, nothing to lose....
  10. I am surprised by this move, surely there was a younger player capable of filling in. Babin has been a draft bust for all intents & purposes. Only two years did he ever "stand out", after being drafted in the first round of the 04 draft. 2010 12.4 sacks, 2011 18 sacks. Other than that, 7.5 in 2013, 2012 he had 5, 2 last year in a full season with the Jets. I would have, and they still might, moved Orre over there and let him rush the passer, he has quickness, power and speed to stunt when needed.....
  11. Brown had 49 receptions his rookie year, 7 of them for touchdowns. Aiken had 24 last year, his first real season of regular play, 3 for touchdowns. Yes, both are posession receivers, but that is all they really need right now to move the chains. Paired with Smith sr, Camp, the tight ends and backs, and if the line gets back in business, that i plenty. I guess you forgot about the deep pass to Camp in preseason, where neither Smith sr nor Perriman were involved, right? He was wide open because of play design. Speed is nice, but not mandatory to win or be a successful offense. They should suffice until Perriman gets healthy. Even then, depeding on a rookie is kind of foolish, isn't it?
  12. I disagree and think it is a tad bit early. Yes, there is no true deep threat. However, play design can get players deep and open. AS has been said many, many times since the game, the receivers were not the issue Sunday, it was the offensive line. We can expect that not to remain to be the fact since they have played together for a full season and did a pretty darn good job last year. This means that the pass protection should be better which means Tresman can use formations and route trees to get receivers open, at least in a one on one senario. We saw it in preseason, least we forget. Denver's secondary is in the top half yes, not the best, they only looked really, really good because of their pass rush. If you look at the coaches tape, receivers did get open down field, unfortunately, Joe was already on the ground or having his arm hit at the time. I would be shocked if the front office made a move, there just isn't anyone out there.
  13. I put a picture up on Crav's facebook page of the Smith drop. Yes, he should have had it, it hit him right in the face. The defender distracted his eye enough to throw off the timing of his hands coming together. It happens, another receiver would likely have had the same result.
  14. speed had nothing to do with it, you can't get 10 yards down field and have a chance at a catch in under 1 second. Smith is a sure handed receiver, 9 out of 10 times he makes that catch, this one happened to be #10......
  15. Very nice game, I hope he contiues to grow. His only real issue was learning how to read a defense. His accuracy issues were easily correctable.
  16. I saw what you did there..... Wagner, Ose, and even Yanda were pretty quick as well....
  17. Not really, Suggs, while very good, I was not expecting much from this year. The Ravens can replace him, the secondary and middle backers is my concern for health.
  18. I take umbrage with blame going on no play makers. Joe had no time, none, to get the ball to a receiver on the line of scrimmage, let alone down field, even if they were wide open. The offensive woes goes right on the line, and in doing so, on who ever decides the protections. It would not have mattered if the Ravens had a young Jerry Rice and Fred Belitnikoff, Joe had no time to get the ball out. This offense is going to be fine, I am actually encouraged and see this team going far if they stay healthy at certain positions.
  19. Yeah, especially at his age, he was already slowing down, this may be it for him, if he wants to go out this way, which I doubt.
  20. I've heard done for the season. torn achilles
  21. Sad? Crav, they kept Manning out of the end zone ALL GAME. This defense is B.A.D. to the bone good. They were gassed at the end, thanks to a Denver time out, they caught their wind enough to make the last stop and force a field goal. With a little more offense at any point of the game, this is a win. I blame this loss, if on anyone, on Tressman, no solution to help either tackles, or the gaurds, all of whom gave up sacks & pressure all game.
  22. Wow, quite impressive to keep Manning out of the end zone; just wow. Especially when the offense could do nothing. To come up big with a field goal stop after an 11 minute drive! This defense, the secondary, is far better than I thought, if they can stay healthy. This offense is not as bad as it looked, not many teams have two edge rushers like the Broncos. Still boggles my mind why they would not chip, and only slid help over, a guard, later in the game. Even then, because of the wide sweep of the edge rushers, the gaurds were no help.... A 6 pt loss, almost a win, Smith's drop, Gilmore almost had that one, Joe ruushed it, who could blame him, he ws going there before the ball was snapped. The play was to the right side, one on one with Aiken, who had the height advantage.... I honestly feel better about this team after this loss, even if Suggs is lost for a long time....
  23. The Giants claimed him, then disowned him; bad breathe or bad skills?
  24. A snot nocker with the Ravens being the boogies blown out into the toilet paper........
  25. During warm ups they reportedly had lower level employees go into visiting teams' locker rooms and steal play sheets.... They did it so often team caught on and started putting fake play sheets in the locker rooms....
