Ose scares me with that achilles injury, they can nag all season and this team needs him in order to run the ball...
-
Not at 34 with his injury history. Let the Pats take him, for spite, and make a hero of him....

Cousins was the quarterback, let us see how well they do when a real quarterback is on the other team. Time will tell but I am not sold on the secondary, even if Webb and Smith are in there. I was very impressed with Gilmore, he has taken on a new personanlity after he catches the ball. Speaking of catching it, he is alwso snatching the ball out of the air, he is a beast and if he stays healthy, could have a great season.

3-of-7 for 17 yards and a costly INT for a 10.7 passer rating
tsylvester replied to vmax's topic in Baltimore Ravens
My point is and was, when Shaub went in, he was given no time at all because of two factors; the line not being able to hold a block for more than 1 second and the receivers unable to get open, nor get any seperation. Is he a starting qb at this stage of his career? No, but a better back up than what the Ravens currently have or could have? yes. As for fry cooks, the Skins didn't put them in until the middle of the 3rd quarter and even then, they mixed them in gradually. After the dust up with Harbs, Gruden wanted to rub the score in. -

Wow, no one getting open, no protection at all, against mostly the starting defense and you wonder why he didn't do well? Renner looks good against people who will be out of the NFL in the next two weeks and he should be the back up? Sure, sure thing... -
Jamison took his guess earlier this week- http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/21199/baltimore-ravens-end-of-camp-53-man-roster-projection I think it was pretty obvious what the roster would look like, with only a few question marks; how many and which receivers, how many and which corners, who the bleep will be the return men..... After last nights game, it was clear for all those questions, but the answers are not exactly great news... Jamison has them keeping 6 receivers with Butler and Carter heading to the PS, Robinson, Nelson, D Brown and Steelman cut. Frankly Butler has been a big disappointment, he simply can't get open, does not run his routes properly and forget breaking tackles or making people miss should he catch one..... I will be a bit surprised if they keep Waller on the roster, especially after yesterday's game playing with the first unit. He showed just how raw he is, how far he has to go.... This position on the team is very, very scary. None of them aside from Smith seems to get seperation, or are able to get off the jam, still.... Runningback, he thinks Tousaints will go to the PS, with Magee sticking on the roster while Tali heals... Only 8 on the line, yes, he thinks Reid sticks again, like a bad odor after Max is done in the bathroom...... Lewis-Moore and Bilukidi I have to agree with him here. Lewis-Moore I was hoping would reach his potential this year, but this far, nope.... 5 corners is risky if they stick with that, but what choice do they have; after two of them, the rest stink and you need to keep players at other positions.... Asa seems to be their choice for returning kicks & punts, ouch. He scares me and yes, I know, he had a good return in the game that resulted in no points, but that is another thread..........

The report about his PCL sprain came out on the 20th of August. I found it simply using google the other day. Why any "sports" reporter who guessed it might be a childhood disease couldn't find it, who knows (he is getting killed on his own site over his "article"). As for Williams, he was dinged up each of the first two games so they held him out. They know what he can do and what to expect from him, they wanted to see how the otehr two did; we have a manimal at tight end

PCL sprain, 6 week recovery, from date of injury. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/315122/ravens-rookie-wr-perriman-has-sprained-pcl

Oh I agree, thus my statement, IF it is true. We know the track record over there with their insider info. Maybe the Ravens don't want to address it is because it would put egg on their face for picking him even knowing he had it, ala picking some one with Spinal Stenosis, another injury most athletes have or anyone who has ever fallen on their butt or fallen on top of their head causing cervical stenosis.... They don't end careers but will lead to nagging pain.

Hudreds of thousands of people have this disease, my older brother had it growing up. Many, many professional athletes had/have this disease, especially NBA players. Now is it true or another "fact" made up by them? I should note, while my older brother had, my father had, neither my grandfather, I, my other older brother nor three sisters had it, nor any of my cousins 12 deep there. An MRI which he had during the vetting process at the combine would have picked this up, it is pretty clear on the image, the long bone of the lower leg would be longer; it is obvious. So even IF this were true, the team would have know about it prior, and, he never missed a game in college due to this, so, much ado about nothing at this point.

Special teams, two games, two disasters....
tsylvester replied to tsylvester's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Most people see a bull rush and think the defensive lineman did a great job. However, while most times this is true, there are times, in certain schemes, when that same rush is detrimental to the "play" the defense has called. You will notice this when a defensive lineman gets a big push but all it does is open a huge hole for the back to run through because the other linemen and backers are doing their job properly on what ever "play" was called. There is so much that goes into gap responsibility, far more than simply getting penetration, sometimes, that penetraion is exactly what the offense needs and wants.... -

A coach will chew out & cut a player for breaking his lane responsibility even if he makes the tackle. Lane responsibility is a big deal to coaches; frelancing on special teams is a big no-no. -
I know, it is pre season, most of the guys out there right now will not be on the team, this is a chance to settle some positional battles.... However.............. Returnman for punts, don't see him out there, don't currently see him on the team.. I am not talking about a home run hitter, just some one to safely catch the punt, to know when to run away from the ball to let it go.......... None of them have caught the ball cleanly, consistantly, nor with confidence so far. Asa came the closest, but with the injury history of the secondary, can he be used there? Kickoff returns, not that they have gotten much chance with the other two teams kicking it out of the endzone most of the time, idiots.,.... Still, when the chances were there, fumbles, bobbles, no burst. I do wonder if Tousant will be the default kickoff return man, he has the quickness, toughness and has experience with it. Maybe they are just not using him there for now ala, BJ Sams many moons ago who did great in practice and they kept him quiet until the season started... But then, injuries killed his career.... Coverage has been horrible. The first game while no one scored, while there were no big returns, there were plenty of times whre one man got one arm on the returner who had a huge hole. The second game speaks for it self, one return, one almost return..... Special teams are key, most teams who go far are among the tops in the league in this area..... Game three should tell us some thing as the starters for all positions, will go longer into the game.....

Sometimes a good old arse kicking is good for you
tsylvester replied to Tornado700's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I agree 100%, but the effort or lack there of, was missing a lot in this game as well. On the Suggs hit, yep, hit the qb hard each time. It looked worse than it was. If people would just see the play for what it is they will see Suggs going in at Bradford's mid section, but Bradford turns slightly away, which causes Suggs to drift lower. The intent was there, hit the qb until he makes it very clear he does not have the ball. The intent to harm, or injure, was not. Perfectly legal play. -

Complacency sets in quickly. I think the shared practice and staying up there in this, the "off season" had the entire team too relaxed. Very few of them were ready to play & it showed. -
Waller looks great, so far, but he is still very raw. He does need to switch to the # 88, he is not a #12, once he makes the roster.....
-
Right, at least he can catch, unlike another wide out with size & speed who everyone in the world except for Ozzie and Crav knew couldn't catch an elephant.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-suspends-49ers-wr-jerome-simpson-for-6-games/ar-CC18Zp?ocid=U142DHP I get that, give the kid another chance, Aldon Smith was doing everything right too,,, oops... Then this- Stay classy.....

Bothered me? Not so much the right word. What "bothered me" as I said on page one was his abuse of being gay to cover up his lack of will power, his lack of NFL talent. Then for him to blame his drop in draft stock on his coming out when it was clear to those who know the game, he was not an NFL player. This pretty much sums it all up. No guts, no talent. I do hope the best for him in what ever he does.

could be worse, could be Kevin White, crack in his shin, out the first six weeks of the season........
-
Actually, not an excuse at all.. On the play in question, the receiver was suppose to run a come back route, it is a timing route. The ball is thrown before the receiver makes his cut. If the receiver had run the route properly at worse it is incomplete. Dispite what many who watch games think about an interception, proper route running plays a big role.

Looks like the saga is over. After stepping away from the Candaian team last month, he comes back to play for one game and quits again..... He says the "pressure" is too much for him "mentally"..... What pressure? The pressure he brought on him self by doing all the shows, by agreeing to a Mike Sam show with Opy? By making up claims he was drafted low only because he is gay? Or the pressure to make it in the CFL since he clearly was a great college player whose talent was not good enough for playing at the next level... Maybe he can go to an indoor team..........

IK did the Jets a favor, maybe he was paid off by the receivers to get Fitz in there...............

Ah, a Sun article,.... not paying to read that bunk.... I thought Weller stood out, played very well save for one slip up on a route, taking off too early on the slip screen. Other than that, he blocked well, made a difficult catch on the slant with a defender trying to jump the route. Ran his routes, other than the one pointed out, very well, selling the clear out so Camp could get open deep.
