There is plenty of depth behind them. You are simply only aware and comfortable with names that you've already heard before. That, as this business dictates and as the front office will show you, isn't how teams (good ones, anyway) actually operate. Not a single one of those stopgap LBs you mentioned are remotely as valuable at $1 million as the players (Bynes and McClellan included) already accounted for on our roster. Urlacher will be doing television in a few months, Spikes has under-performed his early reputation for most of the past decade, and Dansby was out of our price range (and is an outside linebacker, by the way...).
