  1. Okay, but why were we still a top defense when Ray was out/came back and struggled, yet the Colts without Manning looked like a junior varsity team? They aren't comparable. Ray doesn't hold the ball and he doesn't make those decisions. He guesses where a tailback is headed or plays coverage on a tight end or inside receiver. He's extremely passionate. But his presence on defense is not in any way the same as a Manning-type at QB.
  2. I hope you're not comparing the relative meaningfulness of QB and MLB to their sides of the ball.
  3. Yup. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7518305/baltimore-ravens-hire-jim-caldwell-offensive-assistant-source-says
  4. Gurode is not a replacement, and Birk is a better center than we can get otherwise next season.
  5. Dan Peas. I'd almost like to see Clarence Brooks get a shot, though I know Pees is first in line.
  6. They already listed the number of players for each team on the main page, and there are three Ravens. So a max of one more, and I would have to assume that that's Ray.
  7. I agree, but an actual review would have yielded no catch. I'd have been angry if they said it was a catch, because the offense has enough help via silly rules already.
  8. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/23/chuck-pagano-lands-on-indy-interview-list/ Probably not a good thing at all.
  9. Dickson and Pitta complement each other; neither one is going anywhere. PS: Gresham, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Graham are all second year players, too, and were all taken in the same draft last year before Dickson and Pitta.
  10. I'm only arguing as to the WRs. That says nothing about the fantastic team they've put together. I'm just disappointed by the irony of it all.
  11. Sick to my stomach. Is it wrong that I was thinking during the entire drive that it was going to come down to Cundiff? I don't like how the last two seasons have ended with a drop by a one year temporary hack receiver (Housh last year). This is a reflection of Joe not having a go-to guy and of poor decision making by the folks upstairs. I don't trust either of those guys based on the seasons they had to be that clutch guy, and it's a shame that Joe had no choice.
  12. I'm sorry, but a man this fast should be able to beat man coverage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ1fqKS344M&feature=related
  13. And unless you have a great QB and great WRs, it's not an offense that usually works.
  14. My parents are there. Say hi!
  15. Just FYI, this isn't the "actual" DPOY voting. This is just some media thing. It's not the real AP award.
  16. I know, but you're being weird about one of our players for someone who isn't a fan. Reed is fine.
  17. He walked and jogged just fine a minute or two after that, he went through all the post-game interviews, and even said in an interview (along with Harbaugh) that he'd be fine next week. Calm down.
  18. He's fine.
  19. I don't get it. How does that look like beer?
  20. They also have, like, eight receivers that could start on a team like ours. That offense is just ridiculous in so many ways. They'll beat anyone.
  21. We are most likely playing the Steelers in two weeks. This is assuming that they beat the Broncos (safe) and the Bengals beating the Texans (looks sort of likely) next week. All of the "getting Pittsburgh off our backs" talk from the last four years basically comes to a head in this game. It might be the biggest game we've played in eleven years, and it'll be at home. It's hard to even get my head around, considering how most of us feel about this team right now. This is going to be big... (and if it's the Texans we have to play, well, I guess there's much less to worry about for a week)
  22. It's happened multiple times. Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys did it in 2006. Titans, Colts, and Jaguars (AFC) and Cowboys, Giants, and Redskins (NFC) in 2007.
  23. We were 9-7 two years ago Crav. Including playoffs, he experienced eight losses that season.
  24. It's definitely not about running the ball this week. When the other team is throwing the ball at will, you have absolutely no choice but to do the same thing, period.
  25. More importantly, they really need to think about the QB situation. Flacco will never get better than he is, and that's not good enough.
