I would like Croyle or Delhomme on a minimum salary. But keep giving Tyrod the reps this summer.

Doss is going to surprise a lot of people and people forgot how much the coaching staff loved David Reed last year. Don't forget James Hardy either, the guy has plenty of talent and could benefit a lot from this fresh start in Baltimore. We've got guys that have produced a lot in college and will do the same in the NFL. My only concern right now is at Right Tackle.

At least 10 wins next year. The youth movement at WR/TE is going to work and Joe should continue improving. Leach brings our run game back into the top 5 and our defense stays top 10.

Yeah, just read that. Actually a good thing in my opinion as I'd love for us to go grab Olin Kreutz. Was a Pro Bowl talent very recently and says he wants to go to a Super Bowl contender. He clearly could step in and start for us at Center or at least compete with Birk. Given Grubbs injury and our lack of a RT he could play either guard spot for us as well. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/6828674/ex-chicago-bear-olin-kreutz-play-11-right-offer-agent-says?campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines Also this from John Clayton makes me think we have a shot at it. “@ClaytonESPN: When Casey Rabach failed his physical because of a recovering shoulder, the Ravens now have to look for a vet center.” “@ClaytonESPN: One interesting name for the Ravens to study is Olin Kreutz, who would be interested in a team such as the Ravens. Kreutz would consider” It all starts on the line, grabbing Kreutz would really make me fine with Anthony Allen and Parmele as our backup RB's going into next year.

The Skins cut him because they saved over 4 Million doing so, just why we cut Heap, Mason, Gregg. It's no different. The guy is coming in as insurance at Center and Guard and was a starter just last year, it's not like he's out of the league awful all of the sudden. To Yager. Yes, I would say games played would be a great way to do it. If Gaither comes back good enough to start a lot of games at RT he deserves to be paid for it, if he comes in lazy, he gets paid the minimum. Something like that. Given that it seems no one is interested in him right now he might be open to that.
-
He wasn't awful, but he was overrated in my opinion. I really liked what Zibby and Nakamura have given us in their limited PT and clearly the Front Office did as well, that is why he's gone, not because his play was poor.
-
Hopefully he comes really cheap. Can't go wrong then getting another veteran guy who can backup Center and Guard. I really think the best option now is to bring back Gaither on a heavily incentive-laden contract to compete at RT. Our line would have great potential and be deep at that point.

We will not trade for anyone this offseason. Oz is smart enough to know that giving up a draft pick for a guy similar to one you could sign without giving up a pick in free agency is not a good decision.
-
If we go out and sign a legit RT, the RB situation doesn't matter behind Rice because the blockers do most of the work anyway. I like what I heard about Reid, but I would love to get another guy that has starting experience at RT and RG.

I still would love to bring in another RB or McClain. Talk about a great goal line duo there.... McClain could be the backup RB and FB and goal line back. Not sure he's going to find more PT than that anywhere else...

Big, big fan of this move. He's a big reason Arian Foster ran wild last year.

My offseason would be ruined if Aso goes to the Jets, absolutely ruined.
-
They overpaid him, had to let him go for that price. Bring Carr back at 2.5 Mil/year.

Jets trying to take offseason champs crown from Washington

How can they possible have that much cap space after giving 10 a year to Holmes? Jets would have to be Super Bowl favorites with Nnamdi and Revis. -
I am positive that if it's not Mason returning, we will sign one of these other veteran WR's available to a 1 or 2 year deal at a low price. Joe will have plenty of targets.
-
5 for 32 is pretty good value seeing as how the top guard Evans on the Saints makes 8 Mil a year and Doug Free just got the same from Dallas. I'm still hoping we can resign Gaither for cheap as insurance at RT because I'd rather see Yanda at RG.

Ravens to Release Willis McGahee, Gregg, Heap, Mason
colincac replied to a topic in Baltimore Ravens
Depending on the numbers, which I haven't seen in detail, I'm a fan of the moves. I know I read that cutting Willis saves us something like $6 Mil in salary but only $2.5 Million in CAP space, so I didn't think we would cut him for only that much savings. Has anyone seen the numbers on all the other guys we cut? Please post if you have. EDIT: $4.6 Million for Heap. I'm going to go ahead and say that cutting him for that savings is a good move. He isn't worth that in the open market and Pitta and Dickson both impressed me last year. Still could see us bringing him back for $2 Million or so. $4.5 Million for Mason. Given our depth and the fact that Torrey and Doss are both going to be ready to contribute on Day 1 and the fact Mason has said he wants to come back (hopefully another $2 Million or so guy), I'm a fan of that move as well. -
Not fun seeing we are kinda stuck with our current roster and some other teams can go get a lot of players. Tampa Bay looks like they should be in good shape being $60 Million under the cap with a solid roster already.
-
I always thought he was underrated as a ball carrier, but last year he didn't do as well. Perhaps he needs more carries to get in a rhythm. Tough call on resigning.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6764826/james-harrison-pittsburgh-steelers-blasts-roger-goodell-magazine-interview Attacks the shit out of Goodell, Big Ben, Mendenhall. It's great for us. How must does this now draw in a fine haha?

I go to IU and can tell you that Doss is a man. Guy played all of last year with 2 torn groins (I know one of the athletic trainers), and still led the Big Ten in All-Purpose yards. He is, without a doubt, a younger, fresher version of the Housh we thought we were getting last year. Love the Jimmy Smith pick as well. Whether or not they got caught, nearly all these guys in the draft have smoked pot and drank underage, these are football players we talking about, after all. Jimmy has flat out amazing measurables and shows great tackling and hands on film, I'm surprised he fell to 27. Obviously a fan of Torrey Smith, I just hope we got a burner that contributes, for once. Reid HAS to come in and play immediately unless we find a LT/RT in Free Agency, so we better hope Ozzie hit the nail on the head with him. Tyrod Taylor looks GREAT to me. I know he is seen as a 'runner', but the guy was the ACC Offensive Player of the year, and if you watch his highlights (Yes, I know they are highlights for a reason), you see that unless it's a called QB run, he legitimately sits back as a pocket QB and only runs if necessary. We won't have Boller syndrome where he takes off without need. Not to mention, with Bulger going to Arizona, we need a backup, and if Taylor can't be our backup, he certainly can be our 3rd QB while we see if he can play WR and run the Wildcat formation.
-
I would hardly call what is happening here 'hating' on Joe. The guy has all the talent and arm in the world, but he has not been able to develop this year into what he could be. He locks targets far too often and for too long, which is an awful thing to do when you have a deep WR core as we did. I still believe the guy can put it together, but getting upset publicly as opposed to taking it as a sign they think he can improve is disappointing from my point of view.
-
Joe needs to quit being a pussy. He didn't live up to expectations this year with a stacked WR core, which could be blamed on the offensive line, but I believe it was a combination of the two, and Joe has to play better next year.
-
I've been pitching this idea all year, but yeah, go radio guy. The only thing I've always asked, and noone has been able to answer this, is that is McGahees contract up? Or can we cut him without experiencing cap havoc? If neither is true, then the idea has no basis.
