Also, can we not try a Toss out of the I-Formation in short yardage? The other team always commits everyone to the middle since we pound Rice behind Leach, but if we have Leach run up in there and toss it to Rice I'm not sure how he DOESN'T get the 1 Yard in space versus a defender or two.

First of all, I would like to ask if anyone knows whats up with Zibby? He's been active right? He was great last year filling in for Reed and was supposed to start at SS but Pollard replaced him. Now we have Nakamura in often on Dime packages but I really haven't seen Zibby at all? I'm asking because I think having him out there would solve this problem without having to shift Webb. Other then that, I'm not worried about making a big transition. Last week Dalton was just on fire with some of the throws he made. Also, our pass rush was non-existant sans the last drive, and it really made our pass defense look bad.

Was going to say say exactly what 52 said. Hopefully it is a bruise, and one that heals. We need him to return to form badly, the pass rush was absent last night except for the last few plays.

Take it up with the NFL Rule committee. As rules are, there's nothing to bitch about.
-
Calvin Johnson rule, as CBS showed.

Welcome to the AFC North, Cincinnati. It's not your time yet.

Yeah, I could say the same about Joe's turnover. The fact you mentioned holding with these random calls on us the Refs has had is absolutely ridiculous.
-
Really in need of a game-changing turnover...

I was expecting a lot bigger package in their with the way we've been getting pushed around. We had to know they'd run Benson again. At least make Dalton beat 1 on 1 coverage, it's a better option than letting Benson walk in again.

Does Ray really make this much of a difference in our goal line defense? Or is the Bengals offensive line really this good?
-
Pass rush has been non-existant today.

Awful play by Joe on that one, we could've had an easy 3 points. Really too bad Torrey has to have that long hair, he would've scored without it, you have to think that it slows him down just BARELY anyway, get rid of it! Thanks to Ed for bailing us out!

Not sure how it's possible that you saw him apply pressure, because I damn sure watched the entire game and Starks & Co. owned Suggs' ass, part of the reason he thought about dropping back on the pivotal play, since he wasn't getting to the quarterback anyway. Ben didn't get rid of the ball early at all, he escaped and had a ton of time to throw all night. I really don't understand how you saw a completely different game than I.

Not sure how Cam is getting a game ball, we didn't go to the hurry-up until the last drive when it's clear that we should be in that at least a few possessions throughout the earlier parts of the game. It's clear to everyone that Joe operates better out of the shotgun and in a fast pace, I don't see why we don't run that offense more often. I love Leach and Ricky and understand our depth is part of our success, but we need to run the hurry up more, period. Also I loved Suggs' interception, but he was shut down the entire game on the pass rush, he doesn't deserve a game ball for making one play, no matter how big. Game ball goes to Joe Cool in my opinion for obvious reasons. Absolutely clutch performance. My only qualm is that he needs to get rid of the ball earlier. He always holds it too long and that's what led to his fumble. Great performance by the defensive backfield as a whole. The coverage was fantastic. Even though Ben had a good game, that was a result of the lack of a pass-rush as any pressure we got was clearly the result of fantastic coverage on the back end. Cary Williams is really stepping up for us, Webb is fantastic, and I can't wait until Jimmy Smith gets his legs under him as he flashed some skills. Carr really doesn't belong out there though.

I still don't get how Andy Dalton has led a team to a 6-2 record, I'm just not buying it yet, but he clearly is performing.
-
Well, we'll see this Sunday, any further talk from you saying you know they're great when you haven't seen them play much is a lot more unfounded then me guessing that backup linebackers are subpar (which they usually are, that's why they're backups.)
-
I'm not worried about either, I just think Harbs is playing it safe giving some guys playing time and making sure those two are healthy come playoff time.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7176924/lamarr-woodley-pittsburgh-steelers-reportedly-miss-baltimore-ravens-game Pittsburgh's defense is based on Polamalu and it's linebackers speed. Without Harrison and Woodley, their pass rush is going to be awful. I don't think the Ravens overcelebrated after Week 1, but Pittsburgh's still going to come in angry. I see a win.

I actually think he'd be a good pickup as a #3 WR who knows how to run the quick curls and out routes (Joe hasn't been able to find a rhythm on those with our young guys all year). BUT, there's no way we actually do it. LaQuan would lose his spot, but LaQuan contributes on special teams, I don't think Oz would choose a #3 WR over the STer help, especially when we've already got Lee Evans coming back soon (who Rodney of course forgot completely.)

Dislocated shoulder for reed.
-
That ball is out, we got the ball baby. Huge play.
-
This is about as poorly as this game possibly could have started.
-
This doesn't mean anything to me. They play Pittsburgh tough with ALL of those guys you listed out, so they'll play us tough. We can't overlook this team.

Great teammanship from Suggs there. Prove him right Joe.
