Father Time has caught up to Ray as it does to all of us. This should be his last season for sure and he should be substituted for more.
-
Yeah, Max, I forsee a tough nail-biter. Either team could win this one but somehow I think the Ravens will prevail. Our secondary will be the key to victory or defeat as well as how much intense pass rush we can generate on Rivers.
-
Well, I'm all for keeping Grubbs as he's shown how important he is to this team.
-
Without knowing what everybody's contract value is and what the cap hits are and what the cap will be next year, its impossible to really be definite on this.
-
And I agree with doing that.

Seneca Wallace had the steelers offbalance
oldno82 replied to borntodiebalmerfan's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I agree with all of you guys---Wallace had the Steelers in trouble and putting McCoy back in when he was hurt was just plain stupid. His father's comments back that up. Maybe they ought to think about letting Shurmer go in Cleveland. And Harrison should get a 2 game suspension. -
I know there's a difference of opinion on this board as to whether Flacco has been a good quarterback or not, but that rating is ridiculous. BTW, they did say those things about Bradshaw---I vividly remember all the talk about his being too dumb to win a Super Bowl.
-
Agree...The only 2 things I'd like to see from Flacco is less fumbles and more accuracy at the beginning of games. Sometimes it looks like he has to get in a groove after a few series.

Ravens Can't Clinch (Yet), But Steelers Can
oldno82 replied to deeshopper's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I agree---lets concentrate on winning out and controlling our own playoff destiny. -
Very interesting. I don't know why that should be with Boldin but T. Smith is a rookie and he's having some drops though I think he'll improve and be the long needed speedy receiver we yearned for. I wonder who ranks where individually on the team with drops. This is probably another reason Joe's completion percentage isn't what it could be.
-
Cundiff looked like his confidence faltered after the first miss yesterday---that has me worried.
-
Right and I don't think he's better than Torrey Smith right now either.
-
A victory in the AFC North is always tough for us. I'm starting to get worried about Cundiff. Also, our receivers had a lot of dropped balls today but, hey the weather was pretty crappy. Defense was solid with the exception of the Hillis catch and the Brownie's touchdown but I'm not worried about our D. O-line play was again very good. This unit has really picked up since Grubbs has been back. Was very surprised the Steelers had such an easy game against the Bungles. Anybody know what the heck happened there?

He'll have to settle for $17 million under the franchise tag instead.

Ravens training camp might stay in Owings Mills
oldno82 replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I hate to see it but I understand it. Under the new CBA you only get one practice a day and you've got to have a facility that would support an indoor place to get away from summer storms. I believe the Biscuit will have at least one outing to Westminster and M&T to somewhat make up for it. But, I do miss the old days when the Old Colts were there. -
I've come around to agreeing with Max. I like the idea of using the Franchise Tag on RR. That way he gets his payday, we get a good back short term and can have a year or two to draft a new one. Everybody wins.

Win the division or bust/AFC playoff outlook
oldno82 replied to RavensDomination's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Winning out is the only sure fire way to get homefield advantage through the playoffs. That should be the Ravens' mentality. -
This will be a tough game but I think the Ravens will play well and prevail. That is, if they don't take the Browns lightly---Cleveland has some good talent.
-
I don't usually agree with Papa but I think he's got some excellent thoughts on the future of the team. The most controversial part is the Ray Rice decision. I love RR but running backs flame out quickly in this league. If they could trade him for a draft pick it might be worth doing. If they don't keep Rice though I think they have to draft a RB in rounds 1 or 2. We need a LT on the O-line. We also need a center for the future, a FS (if Ed retires), a LB to replace Ray Lewis (hard to imagine the Ravens without him). We'll have a lot of needs and won't be drafting high so this year's coming draft is doubly important---and they're always important to start with.

http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2011/11/28/improved-o-line-play-keeps-flacco-upright/ ...and while Matt Birk has been playing well of late, we should move Gurode to Center next year.

It has been a long time since I saw one of these

The only thing I don't like about the current jerseys is the font they use for the numbers...I wish it was more traditional (like me ). I do really like the current helmets and logo; they are far better than the crappy flying B! -
The defense was just spectacular. Suggs was a machine and Cory Redding was really on his game. Ngata must be feeling better too. The secondary, especially Webb, had good coverage. But the biggest surprise has been the continuing improvement from week to week of the offensive line. If you give Joe time to throw he'll be efficient. The running game was just effective enough to keep us moving forward. The pass protection was awesome.
-
The QB draw was downright embarassing and the pitch outside was ill-advised. They do need a better answer in the red zone. They could have tried Ray Rice at least twice up the middle before they gave up on that. But, that was about the only thing I found wrong with the play calling in this game.
-
We beat the notorious Cincy Cover 2 last week---the offense made it look easy...eventually.
-
Great!! I voted for him.
