  1. There’s been some talk about Maxx Crosby being available for at least one and maybe 2 first round picks. That’s a pretty steep price but what do you think of that?
  2. That's how I read it too. I think it was smart to bring in some help for Orr but Pees shouldn't have been selected.
  3. Yup...a breakout year for Bateman. Glad we re-signed him.
  4. Well...he was bugged by injuries too in the past and missed a lot of practice time and just couldn't seem to get over a few drops that may have made Lamar look elsewhere.
  5. Due to a mixup, I missed the 1st quarter so I started out watching from the 2nd on. The offense appears monumentally great, the defense monumentally poor. Lamar was simply outstanding even when he didn't have much time to throw and his bomb to Bateman was a thing of beauty. Henry is just a beast. I'm so glad we have him. Receivers are playing well and getting separation, and I haven't seen a drop in quite a while now. Todd Monken has also been brilliant during this 5 game run. Now the defense is pretty pathetic. Tampa ran a lot of up tempo offense and by the 4th quarter it looked to me like our defense just wore out. Poor conditioning perhaps. Poor adjustments by Orr and I detected the return of Dean Pees in the bend don't break philosophy. But we won and won big. We should be able to handle the next few games with ease until we run into the Wilson led Steelers, our next big game. Of course, in the NFL you're never safe playing anybody. Look at the Raiders game we played for proof of that.
  6. Nice to hear Lamar get some kudos from those guys.
  7. No, I agree. A loss to TB would not negate all they have done so far. If it's competitive I'll be satisfied. If we win I'll be real happy. And even though they are a tough foe, we can beat them.
  8. I am beginning to think this is the most difficult game on the remainder of our schedule. Mayfield is playing exceptionally well, the offense has jelled, and the D is pretty impressive too. We'll have to bring our A game to this one.
  9. Yep, and they beat Detroit too. They are no push-overs.
  10. The offense was clicking on all cylinders. The defense not as dominant as last year's. All in all, the team is about the same quality as last year's team, which means they will have another shot at a Super Bowl if they, like you said, can just keep stacking wins. Tampa will be a tougher test, especially as an away game.
  11. Good entertaining game. Impressed with how the o-line is coming together and Lamar's accuracy. Henry is simply a beast. Hope he can hold up over the course of the long season.
  12. Kudos for Orr from me too (and maybe Pees too?). Quarterback was contained completely on the ground and he's just damn good on throwing into tight windows. Washington's defense couldn't handle the Ravens balanced attack. All in all, a good game that I enjoyed watching. Tampa Bay away will be tougher.
  13. Yes...if we're going to go on 'pouty', then Brady, the GOAT, would have a zero in leadership. Members of the O-line have also talked up Lamar's increased leadership role this year.
  14. The thing I didn't like about Pees was his 'bend don't break' philosophy. I like the 'controlled chaos' defenses espoused by Rex, Pagano, and MacDonald where you are disguising what your're doing, who is or isn't blitzing, and maximum pressure. Pees' defenses were too passive in my opinion. I don't doubt that Orr could use some help right about now but I don't think Pees is the influence we should be looking for.
  15. Larmar is definitely a leader on offense and it's true Henry is quickly developing into one also.
  16. NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  17. Yeah, I think that really screams negligence on the Bills and Refs' part. He looked out of it to me and I bet he is concussed.
  18. Probably another Cinci replay that goes down to the wire. Fortunately, it is a home game for us. That should help some. This game looks like Lamar I vs Lamar II.
  19. I don't know many, if any, quarterbacks could have made the play where Lamar stiff-armed Hubbard, not once but twice, while running to his right and then thowing across his body to both find and complete a pass to Likely in the end zone for a TD. I've never seen a play made like that before. And Tsyl, you're spot on. There aren't any great teams in the league these days. Our defense had a piss poor day for sure. Orr is learning on the job. The O-line is patchwork with several moving parts. And yet with all that, the Ravens put on a 41 point outburst. It was one damned good entertaining game. Next up is Washington which will test Orr's D again. If the Ravens had a good offensive line, I wouldn't hesitate to pick us to win. We will lose a few more games on the way but so will all the other teams and in the end I think we will wind up in the playoffs.
  20. I dunno, guys...we always wondered what Lamar would do if we got involved in a shootout. I'd say he did pretty damn good today. And a big, fat NO to Davante Adams! We don't need him.
  21. He's b-a-a-a-c-k!!!
  22. You have to ignore them because they always laud the flavor of the month. I've noticed this even during games by the announcers and color analysts. When a team has the lead, they crow about how awesome they are. Then, if they fail, they've got all the reasons they 'knew' that would happen. It's pretty sickening.
  23. If the Ravens win Sunday, the bandwagon won't have any room left for more analysts.
  24. The sooner they forget about last week's win, the better. I want them going into Cincy with a chip on their shoulder. Should be easy to wear since Burrow has always had success against us.
  25. Ravens' website reports perfect attendance at first practice this week. Vorhees back. I think they should go with the same line as last week though. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Pierce practiced also.
