  1. I think Steve could possibly change his mind on Eric if it comes to that. Another question is if Steve would can Harbs during the start of the bye week. Don't know who they'd replace him with. I don't think they have a qualified person on the staff but maybe he'd just want to send a message and start the interviewing ball moving. I also don't think Lamar is ready for prime time now so what to do with Joe? Bench him and let Lamar play and gain the experience or show he's not the guy to lead us out of purgatory? And does Flacco have any trade value after the season? F**k! We're beginning to sound like the Browns. The team could stop all of this speculation by winning the next two games.
  2. Could very well be true. And I agree that a loss to both teams means it's Harbaugh's last season.
  3. Just a hunch...we'll beat the Steelers and the Bengals provided Humphrey and Stanley play. Otherwise it's all over.
  4. Today they look out-manned, out coached, and out played. Looks like the Saints game did them in.
  5. You hit the nail on the head. The hangover will be a big problem and they need to be fired up vs. Carolina. I think we'll have a good chance against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. I don't think either of those teams is really better overall than we are. And the hangover will be gone by then.
  6. Well, I don't know about the run blocking schemes. I think Collins could be a success if he just had a hole or seam to run to. But, I do agree that they seem to be building an offense for Jackson. And I don't think that's going to work in the short or long run. It's a shame they couldn't have snatched up a pocket quarterback. I get the feeling they may want to move on from Joe this off-season and as of right now, I can't get behind that plan.
  7. It often appears to me that the team runs out of gas in the 4th quarter, especially the defense. That could be because the offense can't keep the defense off the field enough. Or it may be a conditioning issue. As for Carolina, my gut says we'll win but my head says no.
  8. It's the OL I think. They are very good at pass protection but don't open any holes for the backs to run through.
  9. Mike Preston, columnist: It's hard to believe that the most dependable weapon on the team in recent years missed an extra point. Knowing Justin Tucker, he will rebound will and might not miss anything for the rest of the season. As for the loss, it will be demoralizing but learned that the Ravens are one of the best teams in the NFL. When a defense can hold Drew Brees and the Saints down like the Ravens did they showed they can complete and beat any team. It was a gutsy effort by the Ravens but just not enough. There are no moral victories in the NFL, but this is about as close as a team can get, especially one that hasn't been to the playoffs in the past couple of years.
  10. This week will be a great test of whether or not good defense beats good offense. I’m still a believer in the great defense theory.
  11. It’s gonna be tough to beat the Saints. If we manage to win, I’ll drink a quart of purple kool aid, that’s for sure.
  12. If that’s accurate it’s both stupid and dangerous to put him him out there.
  13. I believe he was released from the hospital and flew home with the team with more tests scheduled for today.
  14. Oh, the new away uniforms with the purple pants and white jerseys look classy.
  15. Great win, Gets rid of the Browns game stink and establishes themselves as legitimate. Really hope Lewis is OK. It’s apparently not as bad as I first worried it was. The Ravens defense just might wind up being as good as some we’ve had in the past with the difference being the team having a pretty decent offense. Still a long way to go. Ten games left.
  16. He was a drive killer today. And why is Tucker suddenly getting blocked? Is it him, which I doubt, or the protection?
  17. Gee. I sure hope so Max. I'm feeling a win but worried.
  18. FWIW Joe is on a pace for a 5000 yard season. I believe Cleveland's defense is rated better than Pittsburgh's...is that right?
  19. This is a great trap game. If the Ravens think these are the same Browns of last year, they’ll lose. Cleveland is now your typical AFC North opponent. Tough, fast, and with talent all over the place. Still think the Ravens win but not feeling as comfy as I did earlier in the week .
  20. Could well be an upset but if the Ravens do win it'll show they have there heads in the right place for the stretch that's coming up. I'm feeling lucky and feeling a win.
  21. I agree vraven. A letdown is possible. It's up to Harbaugh to keep them focused. Love the reverse trends. Getting people back after going 3-1 in first four games is huge. I can't wait to see Hayden Hurst.
  22. Buck Allen is not an every down back. Collins has too much talent to banish him now. Dixon would help a lot. Seriously, though, did you ever think the Ravens would develop a high octane airborne attack? The way they spread the ball around makes it even harder to defense for other teams.
  23. I'm drinking it too, Max! I see 2 problem areas: 1) the running game and 2) lack of pass rush without blitzing. Hopefully, Wink has a plan for 2) and the O-line gets 1) straightened out.
  24. A MOST satisfying win. Joe was just super and so is Brown. And they're only going to get better with Jimmy Smith and Hayden Hurst returning. And how about that defense? It's finally learned to clamp down in the second half and win the game.
  25. I think I agree with USA Today. It can disrupt the flow of the game. Having Jackson throw occasionally with an WR in there instead of Joe would make some sense in startling the defense but why take Joe out now the way he's been playing? He's in a zone.
