  1. I don’t know about this move. Smacks of another one year and gone guy.
  2. Additional info...the last time the Ravens traded out of the first round was 2012. They took Upshaw and Osemele. The mess with Kindle and Cody occurred in 2010. Geez! Time flies! 9 Years ago!
  3. All I can say is that I hope so. We'll know in just a few weeks I guess. What would you say to trading Jimmy Smith for a 2nd rounder? I don't think it's a great idea but it's something to think about. Also don't know if we could get a second round pick for him. And I hate the idea of messing with the secondary which may be the best in the league. Tough questions.
  4. They've sure shown a liking for trading back and I don't mind that. I just don't want a debacle like we had with the Sergio Kindle/Cody mess where we traded out of the first round and took those two guys in the second. That was awful. And that worries me.
  5. Well, we've heard from DeCosta. He sounds impressive but we'll have to wait for results. Our strategy seems to be like it was last year. Any ideas about how we can pick up a decently placed second rounder?
  6. I understand that...I'm just prioritizing. The secondary may be good enough with the pass rush we have now (cringe!)
  7. No second round pick is killing us. I'm pro-Oline and WR for 1st 2 picks.
  8. Agree with that.
  9. Dammit! We don't want a WR with a dropping passes issue!!! https://ravenswire.usatoday.com/2019/03/26/2019-nfl-draft-ravens-draft-wr-in-draft-wires-latest-mock-following-free-agency/
  10. I think they may have thought Mosley was going to stay because he was so verbal about doing so. In the end though, the lure of more money, big money, became too tempting for him. He certainly isn't worth all the money that he wound up with and the Ravens usually don't overpay.
  11. I'm all for it. We'll see what Eric does.
  12. "Trading back I think the most realistic option is Baltimore trades back. With no second-round selection, the Ravens will likely look to trade back and pick up some extra draft picks while still hitting needs at better values.Given how quiet Baltimore was in free agency and the way general manager Eric DeCosta seems to be building for the future, trading back is the wisest choice unless a top-15 prospect drops down to No. 22." Yeah, this is the way I see it too.
  13. Good recap, Pops. I think we ought to try and get him come round 4-5. Fortunately, we have 2 3rd round picks. BUT, they may be looking at getting a QB in 6th or 7th round or even as a UDFA. That's kind of been our picking ground for 3rd string quarterbacks.
  14. I think Tyree will go before round 5. I think round 3 or even 2 is more likely.
  15. If Lamar gets hurt or sucks this year, we do have a backup with somewhat the same style but actually more skilled. Plus he has a load of experience now. Glad they signed RGIII.
  16. I want Lamar to succeed but I really wonder about his run first mentality and erratic passing. He was just a rookie but they need him to make a big step up this year. O-line and WR are priorities and I probably would go with WR in the first round now as opposed to my previous feelings. It is quite possible to find a good O-lineman in round 3 but the odds of a very good receiver being there are very low. It was a good article. I don't see the Ravens making it to the playoffs this year, maybe next. They have soooo many needs and the Browns will be rocking and rolling. They would have to have an incredible draft to come up with a starting WR and OG and some pass rushers to get into the January games. Eric has his hands full of problems to be solved; that's for sure.
  17. Yep...impressive credentials too. But what round would he be available? We don't have a second round pick.
  18. Agree with you Max. I don't think it's necessary to have naked fruit next year though.
  19. RGIII was a good solution.. He's mature and a leader. He'll be good as a mentor for Lamar. I think they need 3 QB's too. I don't know a thing about Tyree Jackson. Is he a pocket passer or the running type?
  20. I don't think Bowser has 'it' but Williams is still a possibility. And like you said, Eric isn't done yet.
  21. Well...I still think they need to draft O-line first. And if not there, then WR. We do need a pass rushing LB, badly too but the team needs so much and has no second round pick. They should make Houston an offer he can't refuse. Then we're down to just 2 major problems.
  22. Impressive if accurate.
  23. Are there any worthwhile pass rushers left in FA?
