Reality is setting in. I have a 3-4' wall of snow at the base of my driveway. The street is not plowed and once they do plow it, I'm sure the wall will be higher. The cars that are parked on the street are totally buried. My kids were exhausted last night after a day of shoveling. The elderly who have homes have no way to dig out unless neighbors help. No way to get to work. No way to work if we could get there, because we work on homes and part of that work is outside and we have to set up ladders, equipment and supplies. And where will we park our trucks? A ton of money is being lost on this storm with businesses shut down. I'm going to rally my kids today to help some neighbors.

Well...the Denver defense had a hand in beating the Pats too. But....this is the playoffs. There's no tomorrow and that missed PAT by Gostkowski cost the Patriots a chance to win in overtime. So this new rule has had a big impact on the game. There's nothing automatic anymore. Gostkowski hadn't missed in over 500 attempts. But he did today and the Pats were "sent out unto the weeping and gnashing of teeth." There's a better pun in here somewhere

I saw a video of OC. It's trashed. If I had to dig my house out to the street, it would take a full day by myself. Fortunately I have a house full of teenage cretans for that. I don't see us getting a snow plow up the street for 24 hours. That will put a wall of snow between the houses and the street.

Mayor of Annapolis just on tv. He said that it will take 4-5 days after the storm is over to get all of the Annapolis streets clear. I figured that for many of us, we won't see a snow plow on our streets until some time Monday.

From what I see in the ER Snow Emergency Center, the BG&E power outages are not too bad considering the high wind forecast. My biggest fear was no power during the playoff games. Secondly, I considered the comfort and welfare of my family. I really need them to shovel all this snow.

He's got another Super Bowl in him if Ozzie can get the supporting cast. Just being competitive and making the playoffs is good enough for me. But seasons like this last one?

I left Potomac Md about an hour ago. It was snowing there but it seems I ran just ahead of the storm as it's just starting in Catonsville. As I was coming down rt 40 towards Catonsville I saw cars lined up trying to get on a CVS parking lot. People have to get those last second panic buys in or maybe they just found out it was going to snow. Having lived through storms like this, my best guess is they won't be able to plow during the blizzard portion of the storm. They may get a late start at it sometime Saturday. Sunday they will concentrate on the major highways. Sometime Monday or Tuesday you'll see the first snow plow on your street. We definitely have a 3-4 day weekend coming up. Anyway...to help pass the time and have fun during the storm, once again we will host ER Board Best Snowman Event..... See if you can top last years winner....

Think of the 5 worst snowstorms in your life. This one will be right up there and possibly the worst. I am not looking forward to this at all. Hope the power doesn't go out....it could get mighty cold and no way to get anywhere. Now's the time to get in touch with any elderly or disabled persons that you know to make sure that they can ride this out. I do have about 20 rolls of toilet paper if anybody needs some.

I thought Petine was a good hire. He couldn't change the cloud of depression and despair that dwells there. They need the re-incarnation of Vince Lombardi.

Why isn't he with the Ravens? They need him sooo bad!

Well....we're barely above ground right now..... You should remember me....

Are you shitting me!? Cundiff sighting. I feel bad for the Viking fans. That really sucks.Their defense played a great game.

10-9 Seahawks. Gut check time for the Vikings.

3-0 Vikings....yawn. It should get better in the 2nd half...it's anybody's game. I was offered free tickets, decent seats, to the Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons game. I declined.

This was done in public on a national stage. Thug behavior. The fans and players did a great job at being terrible role models for the young....and anybody for that matter. A history of ignoring character burned them once again. Too many weak links in the chain. This is a real blight on the NFL and playoffs.

I have never seen a game so out of control or an ending so unprofessional in all my time as a football fan. That is a ton of games....decades worth. I was very bored watching the game but something told me to hang in there because the ending would be sick and the Bengals would find a way to lose. Marvin and his coaching staff lost complete control over his players. The players ran the show and the refs were stretched to the max trying to get things under control. It was more like professional wrestling. Each team was baiting the other guy trying to get an unsportsmanlike type of penalty. The Bengal plays had the weaker, mentally challenged end on the gene pool. It takes 2 to get a result and situation like this. Tomlin needs to share some blame too. 10 team penalties for 142 yards. Burfict's penalty was a flagrant cheap shot that could have paralyzed Brown. It was totally intentional, designed to take a man out. He needs to be out of football.

Here's what I think about this season.... "What do you want to hear Mike?" ...What I want to know At the state of the Ravens news conference Thursday, let's not hear anymore spin from team officials about how the Ravens played hard every game, stuck together, didn't point fingers, etc. Enough already. Everyone has applauded the effort but that type of stuff is geared more toward recreation, high school and college levels. The Ravens are a business. It's about money, wins and losses, not moral victories and life lessons. After losing three of the past four games to playoff teams, it's time for the Ravens to put on their big boy pants and get down to business. Let's hear something substantial about plans to fix to team, the salary cap situation for 2016, how the Ravens plan to pick at No. 6 overall compared to previous years and any changes in the front office. I want to know how owner Steve Bisciotti felt watching his team fall to 5-11. And one more thing: I want to know who picked out the dreaded gold uniform pants." http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/bs-sp-preston-ravens-column-0105-20160104-column.html

I'm not a Hargreaves fan. Maybe if he's there in the 2nd round. He gets caught out of position freelancing, gets beat deep by the speed guys and self promotes way too much. "Really....I can see Ozzie trading back to get 2 late 1st round picks. Keep your eye there."
