It looks like it with the Flores information coming tolight. He was asked to lose by his GM. Now this revelation by Hue "1-31" Jackson.... With the NFL embracing legalized gambling then how much can we trust the outcomes of games?

What? Washington Gropers? He wouldn't go for it. -
Clifton Brown brings up a few stats and facts about Ravens drive killers... I thought this article is a good summary of the Ravens offensive struggle, Not good in the redzone, lack of explosive plays,....there was a lot that went into this years "fail."

Yes. It is mild and weak and it doesn't say all that I think. -
If the speed rusher is there at 14 I'm good with that too. D line period needs a serious upgrade/makeover. In some respects, it looks like the D is about to fall apart. I think Young, Averett, Elliott, Campbell, Williams, Smith, McPhee and Bynes could all be gone. Peters and Humphrey are coming back from injuries.

Hater. -
The Ravens can use more speed in the secondary but anybody is going to look slow trying to keep up with Hill. What we are seeing is the difference that real #1 WR'S bring to an offense: Kupp, Hill, Samuel, Chase, This is why I want to see the Ravens draft a safety and a CB. If a playmaking CB is there at 14 then take him. Draft capital well spent. The Ravens will have to go through some very good QB'S and receivers on there way to a SB

Wow! I just saw this topic and immediately thought,"Pipe Dream!" Have you not watched the AFC this year? No juggernaut dominant teams. A healthy Ravens team would be playing in the SB. -
Sell. They have no secondary or pass rush to start. and they have to build a brand-new O line. They are about to lose 10 starters to Free agency. Quite a few key players are trying to come back from serious injuries. Not all will make it. Right now the 2022 Ravens roster is a leaky vessel. That's at this moment. A lot of these losses will be addition by subtraction. I see daylight. There remains a ton of skilled playmakers. Plenty to build around to be a playoff caliber team. Possibly more. Going to be a very interesting and fun off season.

This year the Ravens would greatly benefit if they got Michigan players Hutchenson (Totally unlikely) , Ojabo ( very possible) or Hill (love this possibility) at safety. Macdonald coached Daxton Hill and Ojabo so he can let Eric know if the Ravens should pursue these guys who are both needs. He can let Eric know if he can get Ojabo to be an impact player his first season. He took Ojabo from a 1 tackle season to 11 sacks. Maybe he can do the same with Oweh. In his one season at Michigan, he plugged and played the defensive players differently. He got them in their best positions to succeed. Hopefully he does that here. My guess is Wink had players doing assignments they were not comfortable or capable of doing and this messed with them hitting their full potential here....but not elsewhere. Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter “Ravens also announce timing of three press conferences next week. Monday: John Harbaugh's season-ending PC Tuesday: Mike Macdonald's introductory PC Friday: Eric DeCosta's season-ending PC”

Harbaugh and Peyton both had injury and covid decimated roster this season. They did great with what they had. One guy quit on his team.

I'm liking the MacDonald "possible hire" the more that I learn about him. Hutchinson raved about him and he could go as high as the #1 pick in the draft. Ojabo went from 1 sack to 11 sacks, QB 23 hurries and a record-breaking 5 forced fumbles in 14 games while playing on 508 snaps. The Michigan D went from # 97 in 2020 to #12 in 2021. The D went from 34.5 points surrendered in 2020 to 16.1 points surrendered in 2021. serious progress for only 1 year.

Jamison Hensley • TweetShift — Today at 12:07 PM Ravens had 3 players named to AP All-Pro first team: TE Mark Andrews K Justin Tucker PR Devin Duvernay [12:10 PM] Mark Andrews received 41 of the 50 votes in the AP All-Pro voting at tight end. The other nine votes went to Kansas City's Travis Kelce. [12:11 PM] Justin Tucker received 40 of the 50 votes in the AP All-Pro voting at kicker. Jamison Hensley on Twitter “Justin Tucker has been named first-team All-Pro five times, which ranks only behind Ray Lewis for the most in franchise history: Ray Lewis: 7 Justin Tucker: 5 Ed Reed: 5 Jonathan Ogden: 4” “This is the first All-Pro selection for Ravens TE Mark Andrews. In 2021, Andrews led all tight ends with 107 catches and 1,361 yards receiving. He finished tied with the most TD catches with nine.” “Outside of Mark Andrews, Justin Tucker and Devin Duvernay, the only other Ravens player to receive a vote in AP All-Pro voting was long-snapper Nick Moore, who received three votes. Fullback is no longer a position on the All-Pro team, which is why Patrick Ricard was excluded.” “Ravens punt returner Devin Duvernay made All-Pro for the first time, which adds to his impressive story. He led the NFL with a 13.8-yard punt return average even though he had never returned punts before doing so in the NFL.”

WOW! It was ambitious then. Check out all the old technology. Cutting edge back then.

Get the best CB available at #14. Start there. This season exposed that lot. They are getting older, slower, more injury prone and inexperienced. The Ravens need a RT and a LT. Sign Bozeman if at all possible. They need a vet mike LB. They need replacements for Williams and Campbell if those 2 don't come back. They need a play making sack edge rusher.

Preston was a huge hater when Billick was the HC. and yes....I swear he reads my mail.

Where would you rank Lamar as a passer? Top 5, Top 10?
vmax replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
There's a difference between QB as a passer and QB as "The Guy" who can QB his team to wins. Lamar's "The Top 5 Guy." for getting wins. -
Fox reporters are conflicted................. Fox Sports' Marcellus Wiley said Jackson proved just how valuable he is this season not only by what he did when he played, but also how the team fared while he was injured. The Ravens won just one of five games Jackson didn't start. "You can't look at Lamar Jackson and look at him any other way except: 'How do we keep you? How do we make you happy? And how do we retain you at top dollar?" Wiley said on "Speak For Yourself." Wiley compared Jackson's situation to that of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. After Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 5 in 2020, the Cowboys' offense struggled. This past offseason, Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension. "[Jackson] proved his value to the Ravens even more so than Dak Prescott proved his value in injury last year to the Cowboys," Wiley said. "When Dak went down, the first thing we all were thinking was, 'Damn, look how much money went down with him.' Then we come to realize that actually the price tag went up because you saw them sputter without Dak Prescott. "Has Dak Prescott ever won MVP? Has Dak Prescott ever won a unanimous MVP? Has Dak Prescott ever led the league in passing touchdowns? No. No. No. That's Lamar Jackson, who went down, and all of a sudden you saw the Baltimore Ravens not find a way up. So because of what Dak Prescott set in precedent, and because Lamar Jackson — love you, Dak — is greater than a Dak Prescott, there's no conversation about his value. It's just how much are you going to pay him."...Should Ravens Exercise Marquise Brown’s Fifth-Year Option? (baltimoreravens.com) Ravens fans have some of the most exciting football ever and there are those who want to yank out the carpet from under their feet. Getting rid of Lamar will set this franchise back at least 10 years. Don't believe the fans who think they are real smart and are great GM's. You have to lose a lot of games and really, really stink to get a high enough draft pick for an "I hope to God this guy pans out as a Pro" QB in the draft.

Preston isn't as negative or a hater or a know-it-all like papa.
