  1. Now...it was sweet to see the Ravens beat the Skins 23-3 and knock their air headed fans back to reality. But... I'm going to start out hard on the offense although I thought there were some good individual performances and players who showed they will make this team deeper, stronger and better. I know.... there's no game planning and a lot of 2's and 3's are on the field against 2's and 3's.... 1. The Ravens are not ready for the Jets. Well...maybe because Sanchez and the Jets are struggling. I guess the Ravens could kick their ass if things stay the same... 2. The Offense has no rythmn, momentum...it's not in sync or firing on all cylinders. They are not scoring. Flacco has nothing with Stallworth and Bouldin who are the upgrades to take them to the next level. Joe took a step back from a solid pre season week 1 outing. Now fumbles are a new concern. They stunk on 3rd down....1 for 10!...against the hapless Redskins. Oher, who looked good on Orackpo, killed the opening drive by being offsides. Stallworth kills a drive with a fumble after the D gave them great field position with an INT. On a night where Cam wanted to throw, at least the running game was there. 4.9 ypc. That's a good sign because they have not focused on running in pre season games. Only Special Teams kept it from being a 6-3 ball game at half time. The Good... Bulger continues to impress me (against 2's). Watch his eyes and reads. He's lightning fast at scanning the field and knows exactly what he has before he plants. Nice clinic he put on with Stallworth vs the cover 2. Joe struggles with that defense. Reed had a nice game....I see Mason, Bouldin, Stallworth, Clayton and Reed as the WR's. That's a small group but the tall guys are not making the plays. I really like Harewood. He has all the goods to develop into a solid tackle in a year or 2. He plays nasty and is very powerfull and fast. Just needs to learn the technique. Palmerle redeems himself...he's a keeper. Troy Smith played better because he didn't have much to work with. Unfortunately he wants to run rather than throw. Pitta has a great set of hands...he looked very good.
  2. 2 pre season games are "in the books' and if it was an 18 game season, then the season would start next week. From what I've seen of pre season games on NFL Network, teams are not ready to open up the season with everything counting and on the line after only 2 weeks. Granted they are not game planning and playing their starters for 4 quarters but would they do that to get ready for an 18 game season? No. A lot of sloppy execution and sloppy games. I think week 1 and perhaps week 2 in an 18 game season would be the same. When you factor in the attrition an 18 game schedule will induce, then fans will be seeing a very watered down product come playoff time. The best would not be playing the best. The deepest vs the deepest maybe, but not the best. Parity and expansion have already watered down the product. You can definately see that when the 2's play the 2's in the pre season. Look at the bottom feeders in the NFL and you can see rosters that can't compete because the talent is not there. There's not enough. I'm a fan. I can't get enough football because it's good. 32 teams is maybe a few too many, but I can live with that. 18 games will change the quality of the product from the opening weeks to the final weeks to the playoffs. It's going to piss me off if this goes to 18 games.
  3. yea...so long Harper. Jason Phillips had a decent night...then again it was the Redskins.
  4. LOL! The texts have changed on the Redskins game coverage... "I think we got a little too over excited with the Bills win." reality check! Lot's of work needs to be done" "I think it's gonna be a long season." "I wish the Skins were in the AFC North" bwahahaahaaaaa!
  5. No 42 points for the Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons tonight.
  6. Nice running by Parmele...making up for last week. TD! Can you see how quickly Bulger reads the field...lightning fast. Hey...Reed's making a case for a roster spot.
  7. The 2's are light years behind on the timming with Bulger.
  8. Uh Oh...Harewood at LT...and I like Harewood. Reitz...patched up line.
  9. Bulger looked very good until Harper killed the drive. They would have taken it in....Bulger to Stallworth. Bulger knows the weaknesses of the cover 2. Holding McNabb to 3 points is a very good outing for the D...even though they gave up yardage and were not good on 3rd down on the opening drive. That was the 2nd unit D on the field for the last drive. Cundiff is helping his cause tonight. 2nd half will be interesting with all the 2's and 3's on the field. Halftime @ Fed Up Field...
  10. TD McGahee! All set up by Special Teams. You can turn the tide/momentum in a lot of games with solid, consistant ST play.
  11. OH SWEET FAKE PUNT! Nakamura gets it to the 1....
  12. Nice defensive plays! Williams INT and Suggs sack
  13. Mason's fine...it's Flacco having trouble with the Cover 2 and his throws.
  14. Cody's playing well... Time for a drive offense!
  15. Flacco's not throwing well at all..2-5 for 8 yards...that's a stinky start.
  16. Alright...3 and out for the D...that's what you have to do when a team is backed up against it's goal line.
  17. That was a nice play by Washington...He looks fast...not so good positioning by Landry on the big gain.
  18. Sandusky, Stan White and Quadry as announcers....geez! Stan can depress the happiest of people.
  19. Yea...the starters should go for 2 quarters. Cam says they will throw more than run but Ray Rice will get some plays.
  20. OK...bring it on! I'm pissed. I've been watching the Redskins pre game show and fans are texting in ravens r done Maryland is Redskins country Flacco will suffer...
  21. This game is not meaningless. Not for players who are trying to win a roster spot. Not for coaches who must develop their units for the upcomming season. Not for football starved fans like the one below... I want to see how well the O line executes with a gimpy/probable Birk at center and 'Anybodies Guess' at RT. Michael Oher needs a little redeeming himself....so.... Can they protect Joe and Road Grade? I like facing McNabb because we'll find out quickly if this is a pretend secondary. Hopefully we'll see a continuation of an improved pass rush. I want to see more of Barnes, Kruger and Redding....I know what they have in Pryce. Other questions....Can Reed catch as well as Samantha Seff of the Lingerie Football League ? Who can seperate from the pack of linebackers trying to win a spot next to Ray? The Indigenous Persons put up 42 on the hapless Bills last week. Tonight they are 3 points favorites at home. Who goes home a winner? "There's more excitement on the parking lot!"
  22. Basically every weekday night at 7:30 there is a Ravens show. If you miss one you can watch it on the Ravens website. The high tech age is paying off.
  23. I know the AFC North is a very tough competative division but getting owned by teams in the division has to end this year. The 2010 Ravens need to go into the Stealers and Bengals houses and leave with the win. No easy task but this team can do that....only way to turn the tables.
  24. Blocking and tackling are critical skills. The team that does that the best wins the game. I don't see how you can get good at that as a team without going hard. The games are won at the line of scrimage...they can only get better by going all out in practice. You need full game speed and conditions for the QB to get his timming down with his receivers....it's no good if his line can't block or his receivers can't get off the line of scrimage and into their routes fast. Harbaugh gives the over 30 guys days off. I see no problem with his camps. "Finally we can get autographs because that cravnravn guy can't knock us to the ground anymore."
  25. Looks like rookie Ramon Harewood could be the next man up...
