Birk's High would have been a more appropriate title.
-
You might tag him to keep him off the market and be able to negotiate exclusively with him. The other side is you could tag him, try to work out a deal and then trade him if nothing comes up especially if we end up with a top LT from the draft.
-
In the limited time I saw of Juice in preseason playing FB he looked very timid while run blocking. Hopefully a season playing behind Leach has taught him a thing or 2.
-
Pettigrew would be an interesting option at TE. I know Ozzie liked him coming out in the draft and he was a potential pick for the Ravens at the time but he went to the Lions and we ended up taking Oher I believe.
-
I looked at that one as well as an interesting option. He is a typical Ozzie pickup. After the initial burst of signings are made by other teams throwing crazy money around at Free Agents Ozzie normally comes along and picks up a decent player or 2 for the right price. Toby could be one of those guys.

There are a lot of good players among the list of Free Agents this year. Looking at the list of free agent TEs I wouldn't overpay to keep Pitta. He might be the 2nd best TE available but there are plenty of good to decent free agents available and the draft has a lot of talent that I am sure we could come away with 2 good players for the money Pitta might be getting. Here is a pretty good list from Yahoo: Offense: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/2014-nfl-free-agent-rankings--offensive-players-205834976.html Defense: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/2014-nfl-free-agent-list--defensive-and-special-teams-players-055219169-nfl.html

The 2nd 5th round pick he was predicting was for Reed. We are not sure how that is going to work out because Reed was cut during the season. His contract was borderline 5th/6th as it stood so more likely 1 of those 5ths becomes a 6th or 7th round pick.
-
It takes 2 too Tango. You need to find a sorry team willing to give up draft picks for that old player. That isn't so easy. We traded an old man in Boldin last offseason and netted a 6th round pick. By your reckoning a sorry team should have been offering a 1st or 2nd round pick for him. I'm glad you are not the GM. The fanbase would hate you for trading away all the decent players for draft picks that may or may not work out. Players would hate you because as soon as it became time for them to get paid you would be trying to trade them away. This isn't Madden. The trades you make in Madden won't work in RL. The players you draft in Madden won't develop on the same linear scale in RL.

True that is far from given but the vast majority of the pick calculation is based upon size of contract. It's the easiest part to analyze in terms of weighting Free Agent against Free Agent. There are other parts such as performance that go into the calculation but they don't have anywhere near the weighting of contract value. Only comparable contracts factor into the calculation. If we lose Monroe to an $8mill per season contract somewhere and then sign a UFA to an $8mill per season contract then we won't get a compensatory pick. However, if we sign a UFA to a vet minimum contract this won't effect the compensatory pick calculation and we will still get a high pick. FWIW Monroe would have to sign somewhere for around $10m+ per season for us to get a 3rd but that generally seems to be the contract value to get a 3rd round pick.

I'm not convinced this isn't a ploy to try and get a long term deal worked out. The Ravens are using the TE franchise tag over Pitta as a way of getting a good deal for the team and possibly as a way of seeing more of how Pitta does after that hip injury. Pitta's agent is saying he will look for the WR tag because that would make it hard for the Ravens to be able to afford Pitta in terms of this year's cap hit. It's all posturing at the moment. I still expect to see something worked out with Pitta and the Ravens.
-
While that is probably true, if Monroe gets a big contract elsewhere we will get a 3rd or 4th round pick in the 2015 draft as compensation. In the end the trade may cost us a 5th round pick at most. Not a huge loss especially to stay true to right player/right price.

Military guy. Kicks ass. Is trying to help someone get to Washington DC. As Grubber said this guy is called Eugene.

Gary Kubiak: We’ve got to get Ray Rice going
RavenMad replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I think he put on a little too much muscle weight last offseason to try and prove he was an every down back and he seemed to lose that quick burst he normally had even before the hip injury. I would like to see him shed some of those lbs and split more carries with Pierce and then he can be fresh for more 3rd downs where he can be so dangerous in the receiving game. I don't think we can write him off just yet but he is basically on a 1 season prove it or lose it deal now. He will be cut/traded next offseason if he is not effective. -
Another character that was great in the Comics but has been a disappointment so far on the show is Tyreese although that scene where he gets mobbed by the herd of walkers was a lot more like his character in the comics. I'm looking forward to see what they do with Abraham in the show. He was a good character in the comics.

We normally spend a day or 2 at Clearwater.
-
In the show, probably Merle. In the comics it's probably Andrea. She is still alive in the comics and is kick ass.

Oh I know, but I love the heat. It doesn't bother me at all. We normally play golf really early in the morning so it's not a big issue there either. The only time it gets tough is when we are in the parks but we likely will only do a couple of days at Universal and Sea World so it won't be too bad. Will be there from the 10th until the 26th.

A few ideas for the London NFL Team when it becomes a reality. Your welcome Roger Goodell. Please forward all checks to RavenMad c/o Extreme Ravens. With the Redskins facing even more problems over their racist name, how about they move to London and become the Redcoats? OR We could finally put the Cleveland Browns out of their misery and rename them the British Bulldogs and at least they can then keep their Dawg Pound. OR The most boring option, just move the Jaguars but change their mascot to the British Car.

Over here it's been a really mild winter so far. But it's also been one of the wettest I can remember. We aren't too bad in Ireland but half of England is under water. When I get to Florida in July I might not come home!

There are a lot of differences between the comic and the show despite Kirkman being so involved in the show. For example Andrea and Michonne never wound up in Woodbury after the farm. The first time we visited Woodbury in the comics was after Glenn, Rick and Michonne found it after they saw a helicopter crash in the woods and when they got to the helicopter there were tracks that led them to Woodbury. There was an interview on the 10 year anniversary of the comic and Kirkman was asked what he regretted the most about the comic. His answer was having the governor cut off Rick's hand. I'm guessing that is why it didn't happen in the show. He said he can't remember the amount of times the artist had drawn Rick with both hands or the wrong hand cut off or Kirkman had set the scene with Rick doing something that required 2 hands and then having to do redo the whole scene. I can't wait to see how the show handles what comes next in the comics.
