OutsideRzAcE Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Where do I start? I hope Flacco doesn't get too much blame for last night because he had no help. There were at least 7 or 8 drop from the Tight Ends alone. Ed Dickson is a complete waste of space. 4 drops in limited action...are you kidding me? Dallas Clark also played poorly but he at least has the excuse of being past his prime. Dickson should be playing special teams and nothing else at this point. Stokley is done and this signing looks bad. He is old and slow. We have to keep Clark because we don't have better options, but there is so much depth at WR why not give his PT to one of the yonger guys? The Oline looked good when Oher was in there..hopefully he can get back for Cleveland. The Dline looked good - Suggs and Doom were getting pressure and they held up well against the run. I'm trying to be patient and wait to form my opinion of Huff, but I don't understand how this guy ever made the pro bowl. He plays like he doesn't want to get his uniform dirty. 2 of the TD's were squarely on his shoulders. Some issues in the secondary will go away as the guys develop a better repore but I don't think Huff's play is one of them. His play kind of reminds me of Foxworth: he reacts to late and plays too soft. Quote
cravnravn Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 That 3rd quarter left a sour taste for me, we did absolutely nothing offensively to assist the D.3rd quarter killed the D. 1st game jitters is what Im pinning it on, horrible coaching by Harbs on not to challenge that 3rd down drop by Welker, that was a game changer, players running into each other, I counted 3 occasions that when the O broke huddle, that Joe would yell out to Torrey caus he was on the wrong side of the field. A friggin blocked punt, commmmmmeee on Quote
Robjr83 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 It was one game. We had a couple of those games last year. The team still looks to be in preseason mode..sloppy/no chemistry. A lot of that is on not having a clear TE/WR. I hate when this team tries to be too cute... lots of bubble screens, misdirection's yada yada. Quote
varaven45 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I wasn't surprised by the loss and suspected a 13-17 point loss. We were "out everythinged" last night. Still, we are, as someone said, a work in progress. The lack of communication, leadership and cohesion was showcased last night. It may be one game and appeared to be an extension of the exhibitions season, however, this team will struggle throughout the year. The lone bright spot for me was the play of Marlon Brown. Quote
RavenMad Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 The lone bright spot for me was the play of Marlon Brown. I agree with this. I think we have found a good one. Quote
Spen Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 It was ugly, but not unexpected by me. The defense is a work in process but I think it will get better relatively quickly. On offense they need to run better and the recievers need to catch the ball. No reason for panic just yet. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I loved the look on Harbs face in the 3rd and 4th. While not all his fault Flacco did play poorly. The $120 million dollar man. 1 Quote
Tornado700 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Just total ugliness. Defense was, I don't know where to begin. 7 TD passes against a Ravens defense? They gotta alot of work to fix this. Alot. Quote
deeshopper Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 On the plus side, I started Manning on my fantasy team. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Not that it excuses any of what yinz are saying but opening up in Denver on prime time sucks. Most of the starters are barely in what you would could football shape and you have to go to mile high. As some have said it was one game but yinz absolutely have issues that need to be addressed. papasmurfbell Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 On the plus side, I started Manning on my fantasy team.I did on my other league too. So happy about that. Quote
cravnravn Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Nice, Daytona beach journal has it 17 - 14 Baltimore at the half, paper must go to print early down here, Quote
vmax Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 It wasn't too bad if you were on a morphine drip. Stokely is too slow so he can't be used unless you want the ball intercepted.Clark is too slow and has shit for hands. Can't depend on him.Dickson does a great job getting open but Joe might as well throw at his feet because he can't catch anything. All 3 are drive killers. Running game was very disappointing on a night where it was needed. The lack of discipline was rampant. From missed assignments to stupid selfish penalties by Smith and McClellan. Harbaugh has to get this under control. Not good to lead the league in penalty yards 2 years in a row. This could be real bad losing Jones and Oher. There is nobody who can hold down the fort at RT and nobody who is a threat returning kicks. Bad showing by Special Teams. That is 1/3rd of the winning formula. Huff = Soft. I saw it but it's hard to admit it...7 TD passes ...7!Most since Kapp did it to the Baltimore Colts in '69. The Broncos were a step faster all night. On offense, defense and special teams. All that being said...Way too early to panic. Quote
vmax Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Wow...the Ravens ran 87 plays to Denver's 68 and won the time of possession 34 minutes to 26...and got murdered... Quote
