rastaman831226 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Heard today on 105.7 Rob and Vinny Show that Ozzie and Bisciotti have kicked Juan Castillo upstairs to the booth and reinstalled Moeller as O line Coach. Haven't heard this anywhere else except 105.7, but if this is true, this will mark the second year in a row that Bisciotti and Ozzie have had to step in to clear up Harbaugh's lockeroom and on the field mess. Is this deja vue all over again? Quote
Robjr83 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Yeah I heard that on the fan too....from Zorn to Cam to Mattison to Castillo...Harbs hates letting his cronies go. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 So he's being reduced to a well seated fan? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 You have to wonder when Harbs will have coaching calls taken away. Quote

cravnravn Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 You are making a valid point for the hot seat Quote

Exactly what does he do then except play mean? The in game calls, coaching and team preparedness were pretty damn good the last 5 years...all the way to the Super Bowl victory. This and Cam's firing tells a whole lot about John. When it comes to winning or friends....he has no problem jettisoning the friends. He's rock steady. Quote

vmax Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 So why is it different this year? Has he become over confident since hes a SB winning coach? You have been a fan for way too long not to see and understand why the team is struggling this year. You know the key ingredients a team and organization must have to be a winner. It's a long list. Don't try to hang it on Harbaugh. Quote
cravnravn Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Harbs Coaching has killed me this year Quote
vmax Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Harbs Coaching has killed me this year He made a few mistakes...definitely. Every HC does. Now...these are not excuses. They are facts that when you add them up you are a 3-4 team.1. Huge roster turnover. Loss of longtime key veteran players, infusion of youth, and unforeseen injuries. Everybody has to be on the same page with perfect chemistry to be a great team. A few years together will do that. This roster had a few months.2. The O line is not the same. KO played at 50% with the bad back and now he's gone. Burke is gone and Gronkowsky is developing so there's a learning curve and a price to pay with that. Yanda is not full strength and won't be this season because of his off season surgery and limited time to get in shape during the off season. McKinnie could not get the job done.2a. Castillo and the change in the blocking scheme hurt this team.3. Both Rice and Pierce played slow and hurt...hence no running game.4. Almost a completely new receiving corps for Joe.5. New players on special teams not up to speed like last years unit.6. It's a brand new LB corp and secondary. Communication issues and chemistry issues abound. Now: This is also a very talented and playoff worthy roster....and coaching staff. This team, when it all comes together, will be as good as any in the NFL. That takes time and it may not happen this year. 3-4 is the growing pains. The communication and trust issues. The chemistry. This is not a mature roster. Not today. Not yet.3-4 is the injuries.3-4 is coaching errors.3-4 is the price you play for drafting and developing well in the era of the CAP and Free Agency. You can't pay them all so you have to let them go. Other than Boldin....Ozzie let all the right ones go who are not worth the money that they are getting paid elsewhere.3-4 is what they are....but there is a lot of football yet to be played. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 As fans, sometimes you can't see the forest through the trees. This team will get on the other side. It might take us longer than any one of us wants to admit. Quote
Robjr83 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 This isn't all on Harbs. Oz has made some bad personnel choices. The McClain fiasco, Boldin, not drafting a TE, some questionable draft choices. Maybe a couple wins will solve all the problems....who knows Quote

varaven45 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Crav, good point but he did leave behind a void in physicality and leadership. And that $ can't buy or replace. Quote

You know what would override all of these excuses? GREAT QUARTERBACK PLAY, If Joe was playing like the money he's getting we'd have a better record, Joe is the 3rd highest paid player , if he actually played like that we could be 6-1. Quote

OK...I'm really weary of this. What would you like the team to do? What is YOUR suggestion for making it better? Quote
oldno82 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Max touched on this, but chemistry is so important in football. So is emotion. Right now, and with a few exceptions, I don't see the fire I've seen the last 5 years. I don't know (and didn't used to believe) that it's that we're missing Ray's fire-it-up pre-game speeches or what, but the team is definitely sleepwalking. It may be the Super Bowl hangover and that could be bad because it may mean more personnel changes are going to be required if these guys aren't hungry any more. Quote
