With former Texans coach Gary Kubiak now coordinating the Baltimore offense, Kubiak could be making the case for making the move. But they’d probably have to be willing to ship someone like Torrey Smith to Houston in order to get Johnson — and that probably wouldn’t be a good idea.Agreed if the price was Torrey. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I wouldn't shop Torrey for AJ; I'd prefer to have both (though we cannot afford). Quote
ForceEight Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Wouldn't ship Torrey either, but they can have Jones Quote
vmax Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 That is one stupid suggestion by whoever wrote it. They shouldn't be writing about football. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 That is one stupid suggestion by whoever wrote it. They shouldn't be writing about football. Why? They are looking at the teams that would like AJ and what it would take to get him. Quote
vmax Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Why? They are looking at the teams that would like AJ and what it would take to get him. They have run out of things to write about.Torry for AJ and his fat contract? If Torry Smith broke a leg and Steve Smith gets hooked on heroin and Pita goes down again...then yea....maybe I can see it. What they did was see AJ....then thought Kubiak....then a made up bullshit first sentence about the Ravens not being happy with the receivers they have....and then they end with saying their idea wouldn't be a good idea....so this won't happen.Sorry you can't see through this bs. papasmurfbell Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 The Ravens were one of the teams AJ was associated with. So he was trying to figure out what it would take. He did that with all the teams he was associated with. Seems reasonable to me. Quote

cravnravn Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Incase you didnt see the AJ message that he is up to be traded, but will not take a penny less then his current contract.. Leave his ass in Texas, Fitzpatrick will hang him out to dry 1 Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Lmao one of the Steelers sites did something similar to this saying trade Worilds, Wheaton, and a second for a 33 year old WR who as crave said wont take a penny less. Quote
ForceEight Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 This might foil all those plans: Sometimes lost in the fervor over a player asking for a trade is the reality that the team has to go along with that idea. Thus, it doesn’t appear the Texans are inclined to move disgruntled wide receiver Andre Johnson just because he wants to.According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans don’t plan to move Johnson for several reasons, all of which are better for them than him.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/11/report-texans-have-no-plans-to-trade-andre-johnson/ Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 I always look at that as ego with the team. If a player demands an out find a trade and ship him. It doesn't have to be to a place the player likes. Just get the best return on investment. I look at Cincy who has had this issue so many times. It only worked out on th ePalmer case. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 AJ is a great talent but injury prone...pass. Quote
oldno82 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 AJ is a great talent but injury prone...pass.Plus we don't need another aging receiver. 1 Quote
tsylvester Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 He is now ready to re-do his contract if it helps in trade talks.... Four teams interested, did not hear who they are..... Quote
