We were down on him last week dropping the last pass of the game when he should have gone up

to fight for the ball. He said he's been pressing and trying so today he had two big TDs.

 

An ESPN article said Ravens weren't using him as much because he was a deep threat and Ravens

have been throwing short, 10 yrds or less, 70% of the time. There were only a couple of routes for

Torrey but Joe said it will come and it did.

 

Torrey still contributed by requiring the best DBs to cover him deep which opened the middle for the

TEs and slot receiver - SR who made big plays cutting across the middle. They can't let up on Torrey for a min

like they did today or he will burn them.

He looked straight at me on the first TD, swore I was getting the ball, then he pointed skyward, he is over his slump, the 2nd TD solidified that no matter what papa thinks.

We all know Manning is the choke artist. Also it isn't 16 weeks. When it gets cold and windy in Den he trails off. He has about a month and a half of home games left before he is about useless.

Manning especially chokes in the POs like vs us but come on Smurf, give Torrey a break. He done good. He's had good stats

in the past and this is a new offense where most of the passes are short but did you notice in 2d half they covered all our

receivers deep but left the underneath wide open.

 

Torrey beats you that way too as they covered him deep so give him some slack. Geesh.

For 1 week. To break out iof a rut you need to string some games together. I have seen a guy pop his head up once and hunker down for weeks on end many times.

I'd say 2 TDs in 1 game is a string plus he has 1 other TD from a game a couple of weeks ago.

Thats a game. McCoy is having a great game today. He has been junk basically all season. Will he revert back to junk next week? I don't know. Like the Eagles the Ravens rolled over theri opponent like they were trash. It could be the Bucs and Giants that let these two get off.

Man, you just need to relax and enjoy the games and give credit where credit is due. Torrey has had a good career and got off to

a slow start this year under a new system and coach which we pointed out was using the short pass routes more than the deep ones.

They finally went deep not only to Torrey but to JJ also and that opened up the stuff under neath for Forsett and the running game and

pass catching by Taliferro.

 

Torrey made a lot of that happen going deep as he has done all season.

I enjoy analyzing the games. There have been plenty of players who had good careers and fell off the planet. I am not saying Torrey is but I would be far from shocked if it did happen.

Every team thus far knew to jam the Raven receivers because they can't get off the jams. I guess Tampa's defensive coordinator decided not to watch past game tapes of the Ravens. Soft zone, off or weak man coverage = a big day for the Raven offense.

Bottom line? The offensive line. Joe has to be upright to make a play, period. But, back to Torrey. I love this kid and want him to succeed. I'm thinking he is now going to return to the Torrey we all love.

Torrey said he was pressing before. It's a new offense and Joe went with SR early on because he caught on quicker and the

chemistry was there along Pitta before he got hurt.

 

Kubes is starting to throw more weapons into the system as we saw Sun with Torrey, SR, even JJ plus the new rookies

Campy and Aiken. How bout them dudes?

 

Aikens reminds you of Boldin going up for the ball, the one thing Torrey doesn't do.

 

Oz finally discovered some real gems at WR.

 

This team will be a force down the PO run on both sides of the ball. Will Hill can only help the D.

Is this not the offence we all anticipated in the summer? We drafted Tags, we added Sr and Daniels and Zuttah,resigned Monroe, Juice was going to see more of the field.

 

And I'm hearing "well it was on!y Tampa" the same Tampa team that beat Pitt in Pitt and then went into new Orleans and went to overtime before falling. Beating a team like we beat Tampa is just what the Dr ordered to jump start the Ravens.

It took time to mesh and is still coming together like we said during camp. Wait til the guys have been together for a

year or more like Unitas with Berry, Orr and Lenny.

 

Ravens started a new offense in week 1 that was never used before with new players like SR and Daniels in the mix,

so they were cold vs Cinci and Indy while beating the lesser teams but it's coming together. The big test will be in

Cinci.
