RavenMad Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Good lord...what an exaggeration. Gurley and Gordon are the 1st RBs in quite a while to have a 1st round grade. Gurley is a much better fit for us than Gordon. If we pass a special talent in Gurley (doubt he will there) for someone like Williams or Strong, I will be incredibly disappointed. That shows how subjective the draft is. I would be extremely disappointed if we pass on Strong to take Gurley. There will be RBs available from the 3rd round onwards that will be able to do almost as good a job as Gurley. Quote

I've seen Gurley ranked as the #2 overall prospect in this class. If you are along the same line of thinking (I'm not saying the Ravens are), you don't pass him with 26th pick in the draft. None of this matters though...there is no way Gurley will be there at #26. Quote
Money Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 BTW...this article lays out how I feel about Strong (it's a long read). The last paragraph sums it up though: Players who are seen as projects should offer a greater upside than what Strong offers. Taking him early in the draft would be like betting $1,000,000 for a $1,000 return. The risk-reward balance simply doesn't align to make it a logical decision. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2421862-why-jaelen-strong-does-not-belong-in-the-first-round-of-the-2015-nfl-draft Quote

tsylvester Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 I guess it goes without saying I strongly disagree with their assesment of Strong..... BTW, in Mel's latest mock, he has 7 wide outs going in the firt round, none to the Ravens, having them take Marcus Peters from Washington, with Strong going to the Cheifs at 18, Funchess, talk about a reach if it did happen, going 21 to the Bungles, the 7th wide out going to the Saints at 31 Nelson Agholor..... If it fell that way, I wouldn't mind Peters, but I would expect Godman who Mel has going to the Pats at 32.... Quote

thundercleetz Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Perriman is a risky pick and would probably be criticized, however, I am a risk taker and I would be excited big time! Quote
oldno82 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Wow...3 wideouts! I'd be OK with Perriman but would prefer Strong if he's there. I'd like to see another TE in addition to Jesse too. Quote
cravnravn Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Anybody see the piece on Dorial Green Beckham on the NFL Channel? Projected late 1st or 2nd round. Had a nice highlight reel at missiouri. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/dorial-green-beckham?id=2552491 And if you read his strength and weakness report they contradict each other. oldno82 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Latest is that he has a broken bone that doesn't need surgery. He was examined by Steelers' doctors. Of course I wonder if this is just a draft smokescreen. Quote

I think that BE and assault will scare some teams out of the first 2 days of the draft. On paper he is a top ten talent but that assault is a giant red flag. Quote

TBird Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Here's a bunch of mocks for 1st round. I honestly just don't know and afterlast year I might not even try to guess. Nobody got Mosley and Jerniganlast year. Nobody. Ravens are one of 5 teams that have not drafted anyoffensive players in the 1st round in last 5 years Kiper has us drafting Marcus Peters but he has some baggage on him.I hear there's a sign on the door of the Ravens War Room thatsays yesterday's behavior is a good indicator of tomorrow's behavior.Sounds like Bisciotti isn't going to take any malcontents which Petersis. Beside, I have him going to Squeelers. Others have them gettingCollins of Bama but he'll probably be gone by then leaving Peters forPiss. Strong is the other most mentioned in the link for Ravens but I had Strong gone before us but he just injured his hand or somethingand is supposed to be sliding. Ravens might be able to get him in 2dby trading up like they did for A. Brown. I'm shocked anyone would list Kevin Johnson for Ravens. Even Ozziejust said he'll be gone by 26. Sounds about right. http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/19077/ravens-2015-mock-draft-tracker-1-0 Quote
thundercleetz Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 He broke it in November. We might find a hidden treasure It really depends which bone in his wrist or hand he broke. I broke my scaphoid right before my junior year of high school. I was able to play the season with it, but it required surgery after the season and had a lengthy rehabilitation process. I never regained full range of motion in my hand (wrist), and it zapped me of functional strength. I still have a metal rod in that hand/wrist today. Doesn't bother me for the most part, but it will get sore and inflamed from time to time. Lots of small bones in your wrist and hand, you can play through some of them. But if you don't address the injury, its easy for blood to get cut off to the bone and the bone to die. Quote
TBird Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 OLB Bud Dupree if he drops due to poor 40 time at his pro workout. The last time Ravens got an OLB who dropped because of poor40 time was Suggs who said Im a football player, not a trackstar. HARBs raved about him at thepresser. Has a motor and compared to Adelius Thomas. Had23 sacks in college but scored a 13 on Wonderlick Test andcalled dumb by some scouts. He could be falling. WR Perriman would probably be there. He's a #1 receiver notafraid to go over the middle andRavens don't have one but he also is unpolished as route runnerand dropped 14% of his passes.http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2015/insider/story/_/id/12695891/mel-kiper-jr-makes-picks-gm-every-nfl-team-2015-nfl-draft Quote

tsylvester Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 Not sure they will pull the trigger, but I could see DGB taken in the 2nd by the Ravens if he drops that far It would be a slap in the face and go against what they have been saying about questionable character & work ethic. Dupre would be sweet if he lasts that long, but I think they go with Virginia DE/OLB Eli Harold. It might be a reach for him, but he has the quickness they like and at 26, if all the receivers top rated are off the board, I could see them taking the chance on him. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Just the selection of DGB before the 3rd round would be a PR nightmare for the Ravens, 9ers, Panthers, and Vikes. Quote
TBird Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 There's suppose to be a sign on the door of the Ravens War Roomthat says yesterday's behavior is a good indicator of tomorrow's behavior. My guess is Bisciotti put it there and is reminding everyone aboutcharacter. DGB would be a nightmare and especially for him afterRay Rice so rule him out. Bisciotti said he seriously considered selling the team. Quote
