tsylvester Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Maybe the change of scenery will work, but he is a classic under achiever...
Tornado700 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Oh God, the negativity here. This looks like a great pick up. 6'7" 330 lbs, a starter the last 4 years, and best thing yet, he is not prone to injuries.
oldno82 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I like the move and it didn't cost us any draft picks like a trade would have.
papasmurfbell Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/893536044758560768 Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 11m11 minutes agoMore#Ravens & OT Austin Howard agreed to terms on a 3-yr deal worth $16M, source said. There are team options after each year. $5.5M in year 1.
tsylvester Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Howard has been hit with injuries of his own over the last two years, coming off surgery for a torn labrum/rotator cuff back in January. And Three years, a handful of injuries and a few personnel shufflings up front later, Howard is back on the market. He confirmed his release via an Instagram post Friday. And Howard, who had shoulder surgery in January, can still be a solid sixth man for a team looking to bolster its offensive line when he's healthy. While last year was considered a down season for Howard. As I said, maybe a change of scenery will help him, I hope he is more than servicable...
oldno82 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 "He started 10 of 11 games on the Raiders’ offensive line last year, which was one of the best units in the league."
vmax Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Great move and addition considering need and available money.
ravinmaniac52 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Guess they are happier with the middle of the line at this time
papasmurfbell Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I figure a C can get help from one of the OGs. An OT is pretty much on his own.
