2022 Ravens Training Camp

vmax

Right now, they are throwing the whole playbook at Hamilton. Trying him out everywhere to see where he fits and how they can use him. There's going to be a learning curve and he's smart enough, athletic enough and focused enough to master his role.... whatever that will be. He'll develop and prove why he's #14. Clark is having an outstanding camp and Marcus Williams is a savvy vet FS. Then there's Stone and Jefferson who are having great camps. This is a great problem to have.

The D is loaded.

But 14 and hasn't been able to seize the starting spot?

Clark has the green dot and calls the defenses. Hamilton is too young and inexperienced to do that as a rookie. Marcus Williams us a top 5 Safety in the NFL. The Ravens need his experience and play making ability.

Hamilton is turning into a position they didn't need.  But we left bare the LT spot.

Agreed, I thought they reached for him, their claim as the BPA is hoo- hockey, there were other players both in need and talent worthy of 14 above Hamilton.

I would have been happy with Luke goedekie.  He was drafted late in the 2nd round.  So a few trade backs and they could have had him.   If played right we would have a 2nd 1st round pick in 23.

Ben Powers, who is expected to start at left guard for Ravens, is now at center. John Harbaugh: "So, if Ben can do that, it's always an addition to your career. It helps you, and it helps us. He could be a starting guard, but [also] be an emergency center if you lose enough guys"
[8:47 PM]
Ravens rookie fourth-round OT Daniel Faalele is down on the ground and being looked at by trainers. He initially grabbed his right knee after getting rolled up on from an inside run.
[8:53 PM]
John Harbaugh greets Jordan Stout with a high-five after the rookie punter hit a 50-yarder that was downed at the Cardinals' 3-yard line.

The fourth-round pick continues to impress.

You're seeing early tonight why Ravens are so excited about their rookie class. Linderbaum and Ojabo aren't playing and Hamilton been quiet, but Likely making plays, Travis Jones getting penetration throughout that drive. Stout pinning Ari inside 5. Damarion Williams involved
[9:03 PM]
Rookie fourth round pick Daniel Faalele back at RT too after injury scare last drive. Colon now in at center. So Mekari and Powers each get one drive at center before Colon enters.

With Lamar Jackson being held out, QB Tyler Huntley has completed 91% of his passes in the Ravens' first two preseason games.

He's completed 29-of-32 passes for 238 yards and two TDs. That's a passer rating of 118.4. :gorave:

John Harbaugh: Ravens rookie DT Travis Jones has a hyperextended knee. He will be out for the rest of the preseason. Harbaugh said it's not a serious injury that will keep him out for a significant amount of time.:(

Anybody see how Travis Jones injury happened? Hate to be without him, man.

Yes, he got rolled up on during the Trace touchdown. Nothing serious.

All in all a very good outing, players continued to build on their camp & the last game, some hurt but none injured as of now.

Would like to see more out of that running game, yards seemed to be hard to come by, ....

Some observations....

NFL Preseason Week 2 Game Recap: Baltimore Ravens 24, Arizona Cardinals 17 - PFF

OFFENSIVE LINE

• Center Trystan Colon and guard Ben Cleveland were the standouts along Baltimore’s line, going without a pressure allowed across 17 and 23 pass-blocking snaps, respectively.

Tyre Phillips rebounded from a rough preseason Week 1 to give up only one quarterback hurry on 25 pass-blocking snaps. He surrendered six pressures in last week’s outing.

DEFENSIVE LINE

• Rookie Travis Jones tallied a pressure and three other winning reps before exiting with a knee injury. He is on track to lead the defensive line in pass-rushing grade on his 16 snaps, pending review.

• Although Brent Urban handled just four run-defense snaps, he made two run stops.

LINEBACKER

• Undrafted free agent rookie Josh Ross earned his second straight 90.0-plus PFF grade, pending review, after allowing only nine yards on three catches in coverage. Ross also tallied two run stops.

Malik Harrison joined Ross in making a run stop, and he earned an 80.0-plus grade on first review for his efforts.

SECONDARY

• Arizona quarterbacks repeatedly targeted Brandon Stephens, who gave up four catches on seven targets for 43 yards.

• Rookie Pepe Williams snagged an interception and surrendered only a four-yard catch on three targets in coverage.

Those grades are incomplete, where are the run grades?

Outside of Huntley and his scrambles, plus 1 nine yard run by Mcrary, the team could not move the ball on the ground. No one could sustain blocks nor make a hole.

Defensively, on 21 carries the Cards only had just under 3 yards per carry. Nice.

But they were 8 of 15 on 3rd downs, not very good; granted these are back ups playing with fry cooks..

12 penalties, more than one of the personal foul varieties, not-not good, berry, berry bad, and is also a culprit with starters in the regular season. Herbs has to put his foot down, eventually.

Run grade? D.  Am I worried about that? :nono:

Yea...12 penalties for166 yards, really bad. The major negatives forme were the Jones injury and no running game.

Only 9 targets for the WR's. What's that say?

They released Moore which tells me they know what they have and wich way they want to go.

Watch the Ravens line Likely up as a WR. Bateman on 1 side. Likely on the other. Boyle and Andrew's at the other TE positions. 1 .2...3 ..destroy

The 6 moves the Ravens made to get down to 80: WRs Jalyon Moore, Bailey Gaither, Slade Bolden; ILB Diego Fagot and OT Jaryd Jones-Smith were all waived. Bolden was waived-injured. And Gus Edwards to reserve PUP. With 3 WRs getting cut, the Ravens have 9 WRs on roster: Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay, James Proche, Tylan Wallace, Demarcus Robinson, Shemar Bridges, Makai Polk, Binjimen Victor, Raleigh Webb.
Proche has been out a few wks w/soft-tissue injury. Tylan Wallace returned today.

The Stanley news is frustrating, but hopefully he just needs to get in football shape.  Fingers crossed.

Hope Gus can get back to 100% too.

Both guys get pay days and immediately fall...

So with Likley playing so well, I wonder what happens with Kochlar, injury/ir game or ps? I doubt they keep 4 tight ends, right?

Six wide outs?

8 offensive linemen?

7 defensive lineman?

6 linebackers?

8 secondary?

Ls/punter/Tucker (3)

4 rbs?

That is 42, 45 if we count 3 tightends

Well, another undefeated fake season, no major injuries to major players, still waiting to hear about the bubble corner injured on the 2pt conversion.. Well, Poe was hurt badly.....

Some good talent on this team, no signs of a consistent running game, though Davis looked like a starting back behind Jk and Gus (who will miss the first 4 games at least.

We won't know the starting line till they line up against the Jets week 1... Robinson looked good burning fry cooks, nothing worse than burnt fries... can he do that in the regular season with Lamar?

Hope, that is what we can take from this off-season, Hope.
