papasmurfbell Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Thats not going to be forever. He will be back next summer. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 But who's to say he'll be 100% cutting with speed and it's not like he was all that great to begin with. I think we need a step up from him. He's at best an average player. With Bateman coming back from a Lisfranc, which normally take a couple seasons to get back to normal, we need more from our WRs. And I'm not talking breaking the bank to do it. Quote
tsylvester Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 From Fowler, Jeremy on Da Twitter Among prominent coaching names I'm hearing are firmly on #Ravens' radar for offensive coordinator: Former Colts head coach Frank Reich, Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy and former Bucs OC Byron Leftwich. In-house candidates Tee Martin and James Urban could get a look, too Quote
tsylvester Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I can't see a lateral move for Eric, why leave Mahomes? Reich would just be a whistle stop till a head coaching job came around. Leftwich was he really any good? He did have arguably the best qb in NFL history and stil failed when left on his own. Martin and Urban not sure about them, straight from Roman... would things be any different? Quote
oldno82 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I can't see Bieniemy coming here either unless he gets a leg up when Harbs leaves. But as you said before why do that when Andy Reid could be retiring near the same time. Not thrilled with Leftwich either. As for Martin and Urban I agree...why pick up Roman's assistants? Frank Reich, meh...maybe. I pretty flummoxed about it right now. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Maybe this link will give us some more ideas: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/rumor-mill-ravens-offensive-coordinator-search Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 I saw someone mention Bobby Petrino. He got Lamar the HEisman. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 I didnt hate the idea. He may be lured here. Maybe he can fix Lamar. I dont care about the track record. Quote
tsylvester Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Hackett, (Jets) Reich, (Panthers) off of the board... Quote
oldno82 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I really hope they don't pick someone internal. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 But that would be the nepotism hire. Quote
dapetes Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 It shouldn’t be to hard to find someone with less football savvy than John Harbaugh. High school ranks maybe? Quote
tsylvester Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I think they should use the internet for an oc, let fans supply the plays via text message, rates apply, ..... Quote
oldno82 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Or, they could bring Cam Cameron or Matt Cavanaugh. Quote

tsylvester Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 My heart skipped a beat, my dream for this team may come true.. NBC Sports: Todd Monken interviewed for Ravens offensive coordinator. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/28/todd-monken-interviewed-for-ravens-offensive-coordinator/ Quote
oldno82 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 He would be great but what if nobody competent wants to come here because of the uncertainty at QB1? Quote
tsylvester Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Eh, some offensive coordinators may want their own choice at qb. Then again, the wide receivers may also give them pause. Even then, the right system could elevate those players. This team is ready to rock & roll, more so than any of the other team's in need, save the Chargers Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I knew you would be happy when I say that report today. Do we think Turdy is just going through the motions with these interviews? Quote

My biggest fear is that as you & oldno said; this is just to cover the in-house hiring... Quote
tsylvester Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Another key to the new oc is perhaps, just maybe, he will help the Ravens find and develop wide receivers, Monkton has shown that he can Quote
