  1. I thought overall the coverage units did well, save for the one big return. The rerurn teams, punt really since the kickoffs went out of the endzone, yes were putrid, though I think Hester could have returned a few of the ones he called fair catch on... The fumble, inexcusable, that is supposedly why he was brought in....
  2. He did play well, 6 tackles leading the team and the pick, as did the others, please dont get me wrong. With Mosely, I expect more from him, he keeps making the same mistakes. Oh hey, for the defensive line, 48 yards rushing is all they gave up! 12 carries for 14 yards for Ivory, Yeldon not much better, 6 for 17 yards.
  3. Hey, 21 straight completions, even against the soft zone was outstanding by Joe & the receivers. It should have been 22 had Wallace hung onto that perfect pass... 4 drops today, one very bad pass, who was at fault on that is unknown, but I would guess Flacco was, given the coverage and the fact he was throwing to a tight end... I loved the games both lines played today, some stunts from the defensive line. Pulling gaurds in pass protection for the offense, worked most of the time, not always though. Jansen having to come in was scary. Not having a runningback qho can shake & bake nor break tackles is going to hurt this team. I thought West might be the one, but he is playing slow... On a great note, Bengals lost, Stselers are getting blown out, hope Philly can hold that lead...
  4. Nice call VA.
  5. Once these young guys get some experience, they will get more consistent and they should be very good.
  6. Great game because they had a pick each? Come on max, you know football better than that! Late to fill holes, not checking the underneath crossing routes, and no, they still can't cover though they played better in zone better than they have before. Suggs had two sacks only because of a quarterback who ran into him for one of them, then choked and tried to run away from everyone to the sidelines in the waning seconds. He was a non factor for all the other plays. This defense played basic again, deep cover one, that will not fly against better quarterbacks.
  7. I don't normally gamble, but I would be willing to lay $100 that says no. & yes, you can wait until you sober up to answer..
  8. That defensive line for sure. While they did not get pressure all game, they did when the team needed it most, well done. Yes, I will give props to Mosely for an incredible interception, other than that, blek.. A win is a win, and another blocked kick....
  9. Two games, it has only been two games. Stats are not what they appear after two games.... It's like the college rankings this early, there are some terrible teams in the top 15 that will finish unranked...
  10. Who knows how effective he will bein the limited action he is likely to get. He might even take away from the defense because of a healthy, younger player sitting out. Bortles is a big strong kid, the Ravens had trouble sacking McCown, whiffing numerous times. The Jags have some good receiver talent, not good for this porous secondary. Add in the Ravens weak offensive line, inability to run the ball and you get a double digit loss...hope I am wrong..
  11. Maybe more. Torn ligament in thumb on throwing hand... Per Boston paper.. Per Espn.. No tear, only injured....
  12. Yes they did but let us look at two key factors. They were facing basically a rookie quarterback as well. Houstons offense also played it safe to try and limit turnovers. Likely because they felt no way the rookie on the other side could be very effective against them on such short notice. It was in a sense a case of over thinking it on Houston's part, and under thinking it, if you will, on New England's part.
  13. All basic stuff, NE just played better. Houston, on the other hand, was terrible. 87 passing yards came on yqrds after the catch. Poor tackling, improper angles, basic zone defense = a loss.
  14. The Texans had them stopped each series but they failed to make the tackles on those short passes. Plain & simple, the game plan was not the great, the defense was that bad. On offense, Brock can't throw well against zones, right now, his weakness. Pats played match up zone most of the night. That game was not so much what the Pats did, but what the Texans failed to do.... But I do agree with your sentiment, the offensive game plan for the Ravens, utilizing route combinations to get people open, is a glaring hole we can see every time we watch other offenses have success in other games. The only time, this year, they used a real combination was on the long td pass in the first game. In that play both Wallace (who scored) and Smith sr, on a flag pattern to the weak side, we wide open because of the coverage and the proper play call... But Trestman seems to only want to use stacked routes, so there is no yak, so throws are harder because of the congestion, receivers being five yards apart....
  15. Wheels come off the tricycle this week. Jags by double digits.
  16. 2 freaking games! It has only been 2 freaking games. Why would a "reporter" ask him about his targets!?! Trying to start trouble? There are NOW 3, THREE legit receivers, PLUS a legit pass catching tight end. Every week will be different with who gets the lions share... RELAX
  17. We have been saying Castillo is hurting this team since they hired him. Neither rookies on the left side were known for power in college, both more finness players who struggle with bull rushers. Switching centers for some one who also struggles with bull rushers and has limited experience will likely make things worse, not better. This team has, in almost every season for the past 6-10 years, sstruggled with short yardage, and neither backs currently playing, have the speed to get to the edge and turn the corner. They showed it in pre season and so far in two games. Thus, that stupid pitch sweep from the shot gun. Mike, stick to donuts, you know more about them...
  18. He set you up crave...
  19. If they look the same and keep losing, he might become unemployed shortly..
  20. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/many-of-the-browns-scouts-fired-before-the-draft-favored-carson-wentz/ You can't make this stuff up, only in Cleveland...... Granted, the jury is still out on Wentz, but Jeepers... How great would it have been to have both Wentz & Coleman play together for years...
  21. Other than missing blocks on punt returns, nope.
  22. They scored more points than the week before, had less penalties and had two picks. That is improvement! Rolf.
  23. Seattle scored 3 pts today. Drew Brees could not score more than 15 pts. At half time, Big Ben had worse numbers than Joe did at half time. Do you want me to go on? The point is, you take each game as its own season, who ever scores the most points. That is Joe's message, that these tight games, no matter how they got close in score, no matter how many points you are down. Just keep playing and win no matter how.
  24. Yeah-yeah, that's the ticket...
  25. Not because of the play calling... Rather because they are the Browns.. And they were 20 down, even if only for a minute..lol
