How confident are you going into Sunday?
millz58 replied to OutsideRzAcE's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I've got the same anticipation for this one like (but certainly less than) the AFCC game against them or the AFCD game v. Colts a few years back, hard to keep out of my mind or mouth. gahdammit... -
should be more like "Nhehh mnshh nhehh" based on how drunk his 'dates' usually are
-
I understand and basically agree; but the same concern lies with execution of plays that are rarely used in game situations, even if used frequently in practice. Maybe keep the D guessing, but unless stressed during the week practice (I'm assuming now they are) those plays could be non-productive or even turnover potential. Trust me I DO LIKE the idea of 3 or 4 wideout sets with Heap involved, I just don't know how the Oline is gonna do in those situations. What particular plays would throw off or be unrecognized by Pittsburgh's D? I'm curious because so many times these teams have been pegged as being so similar in nature on both sides of the ball, I'd like to know what aces are up Cameron's sleeves.

How many fines will be handed out as a result of this game?

I voted 4, one each for Suggs and Harrison, one for Tomlin stepping onto field to bark at coach, and hopefully one against Ray for anything egregious because the refs (and everyone else) are sick of those horrible old spice commercials; maybe one more for Ward pulling Reed down by the beard as he pick-6-es big ben -
fisher's the only reason that franchise is mildly competitive still. besides, he's got the ditka-like hair and stache. He's the one to keep, never fire proven coach for the sake of a only recently-proven player

That could be media speak to throw off opposition; really McClain hasn't been used enough this year to warrant that type of response. Pass-happier offense can spread their wings this weekend I think, and if Stallworth is ready it could be really cool. I'm more concerned on the D-side and whether we can run-blitz effectively, with DB/S combos. I think we need to make the Steelers one-dimensional with their passing game, and make Roethlisberger and co. force the hand to Ed & Co.
-
It's not easy anyway, but harder keeping a similar running program without McClain, and better then to spread out and rely on quickness over power. The Oline is suspect and so can't be counted on for physical runblocking like Cleetz suggested so we need to just give Flacco the extra second to check down and flood the lanes. Rice can chipblock on passing; Joe has enough targets, just needs enough time to hit them.

Yeah, nice watching Troy and another Ravens QB castoff do battle. Troy looked good a few times...

Because Arundel Mills and Laurel are right in the increa$ing glut of higher-earning $urbanite$ on the B/W corridor
-
My wife loves Jensen, and his cheeseburger-stuffed-grins, maybe I'm hatin' but he forces some lines...; he was good in that episode about the rabbit's foot
-
I actually bristled watching this; I'm not too familiar with Johnson but I don't recall him being like that before, I hope he has been though because that's way too big a reaction unless it was really provoked and 'long time comin'. Either way it was stupid and ugly on both sides.
-
Nor I. If Harbaugh is even more blandly coach-like in his media dealings, great. He seems to relate well across the board with the team and organization. Forget the rest. edit: regarding the "shift" in team philosophy, it's about time the offensive could support or even front the defense a bit, I'm liking the way the current offense (slightly more pass-oriented) can take control. If the reins had been slackened a bit at the end of the Pat's game maybe this team would be #1 in the rankings and in firm control of AFC supremacy.

I was reminded that Winslow's still a punk. Other than that, the injuries only bothered me.

Ngata should have something to say about that, maybe with a DB run blitz -
Booooo, those plays usually get us nowhere or in trouble against Pittsburgh; passes to wideouts in flats or quick outs would do better, they've not for some reason adjusted to those as well

Also "Cautiously Optimistic", Steelers even with injuries tend to adjust well; Ben with a bad foot may aid our containment efforts, but our secondary won't. Best bet is for our O-line (also patchwork) to hold up and give Flacco the extra second to check and roll. What if Rice is our primary run threat? not good IMO. Hopefully we can use the full complement of receivers especially Heap to spread things out. I think at home and with Reed healthier our D has the advantage and I actually think our O is at least even if we have no fatal errors; thus a close victory. -
Congrats to the whole team, especially after last season, and Coach Friedgen for a great season. That game against NC state was killer; O'Brien's performance gets him top ACC rookie, and Torrey Smith was a huge part, turning into a real force. too bad that the Terps lost to the 'Noles.... I guess MD will be Meineke car-care-bowl bound or something as FSU & VaTech will take the top bowl games for ACC, but whatever, a great season for the Twerps! http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/34297/friedgen-named-accs-coach-of-the-year

wow, I haven't thought of either one as even good actors, but I'd agree Jensen is better; Jared is kind of dumb and he does cry "cue card" at points; at least Ackles has some facial expression down
-
So, here comes the Slots at Arundel Mills! We'll see if MD can play this right and lure gamblers back instate, but from what you say Crav, too little too late and with too much take. Great response, thanks! well beyond my knowledge...

I think it's actually hazzard county. and yes.
-
I'm hoping the Ravens are very judicious in using stallworth this week, but still try to stretch the field a bit and show some length in passing. I think they'll need that dimension against the dolphins, the fins certainly fronted well against pittsburgh.
-
Apparently Moss had something bad to say about the locker room catering, and pissed off some people. Including the Vikings. Like Childress. Really.
-
lol yeah, no other real reason to pull McNabb, I took Deadskins on that spread... oh well I've made worse decisions, but it was worth it watching that ball pop out of Grossman's body and turn into a defensive touchdown.
-
crav, whaddya think about the Question A approval? I voted against it, although I get the revenue angle, I just couldn't really stomach the thought of such a monstrosity next to where I take my kid to the movies. then again, Arundel mills is hardly family friendly. Is Cordish's slots really the best medicine for the horse-racing industry? just curious...

I've thought now about how the ravens have historically been on the wrong end of similarly played games; like some vs. the colts. now we have the passing. Flacco gets my vote, for his cool-headed-ness after being assaulted early, and YES for his Cromartie tackle (huge). the only second (or better) would be ray-ray for his D-coordinating job and his total highlight reel hit on keller. edit: IMO Boldin did what he was brought here to do, did it well, but let's keep the accolades to a minimum with him just now
