  1. Save Ray Rice... http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/feature/madden2013cover It's getting a little too close...
  2. Good. The Ravens are not redoing contracts while the Steelers are doing that in excess.
  3. I'm concerned. Harbaugh's concerned: “We have to upgrade it. I don’t even know if we have a full complement of linemen to be on our 53-man roster right now,” Harbaugh told reporters Tuesday at the NFL owners’ meetings in Florida. “We don’t have our five starters set. We have guys where you say, ‘Can they play a position or not?’” “The thing I’ve learned over the years in Philadelphia and everywhere else, it starts with the offensive line on offense,” Harbaugh said. “The quarterback is obviously critically important but if you don’t have an offensive line, you can forget about it. We have to be able to build an offensive line.” Now...Ozzie just has to pull off another miracle. Think back to last season. Foxworth goes down, Carr goes down. Jimmy Smith goes down. But wait! Webb and Williams did great getting the job done. They lost Mason and Heap....but then Smith, Dickson and Pita rise to the occasion. This is how the Ravens stay competetive. Solid drafting, developing 2nd and 3rd year players and signing free agents selectively to fill the holes.
  4. The only possible good that I could see come out of that strike was for the owners to agree to a hard cap. And...the owners have to curb their greed. There were tons of games.....what to me is an alarming number of games, not sold out throughout the NFL. Watch. Their solution will be to expand and water down the product even more. There won't be parity. It will be "Crappy"...the next step down. All teams will be Crappy.
  5. As all of us have stated...this is not good news. Joe Flacco could end up with an offensive line like the Stealers and then he'll be walking around like Rthsslxssbrrgrrr.
  6. I like removing the on-field referees from the review process. Do it like college football and save us hours of waiting around...college football made the NFL look stupid on this issue.
  7. And that is good for the fans Otherwise the league would just keep raising prices at an insane rate to fund "average Joe's" into multi-millionaires like MLB.
  8. This happens every year. Many over value themselves, hit the market, find they can't get the money they want, and it's too late! They have just been replaced. Can't go back to their team. For a lot of these Free Agents, by opening day, they realize their career is over.
  9. Peyton must love awkward moments because I'm sure he's having a lot of them hanging around the owners meeting. Now he's playing owner and GM by talking to Parcells. Who runs the show in New Orleans? Must be Payton.
  10. A big part of this is the lying and the cover-up by Payton, Loomis and Williams. They kept it going after being warned and told to stop.
  11. According to ESPN's Walker in the power rankings...
  12. The GM should have more time off. Put an * next to their Super Bowl win...just like the one the Stealers had over Seattle.
  13. "His body's falling apart...probably held together by 1 tendon now....he's fat because his wife won't let him chase college girls...I'd say he's got the body of a 56 year old man now."
  14. Too bad this didn't happen before he left. Then again, somebody else would have over paid. He left a great organization and is chaos now. You need pride in where you work to get into it day after day.
  15. Thanks cleetz! Good to hear from you.
  16. You better clear out fast. The Fed's are only 1 step behind you.
  17. I'd say John's stretching it with Palmer and Dalton....Romo too. Vick isn't scary anymore. Now they are good QB's, but not 'Murders'. Rivers and Eli are the 2 that seem to own the Ravens now. The Ravens secondary will be very solid so it's all up to the front 7. Oh...the rest of the division has to face these guys too. Poll: Should I dress like this when I visit my daughter in boarding school this weekend?
  18. Florio's calling the Ravens 'Losers' in Free agency.... I'm not buying it. This is exactly how they stay competetive year after year. They don't overspend in free agency. "Our good friend Mike Preston has this rebuttal...
  19. "Dear Lord, Please make Manning the most expensive back up in NFL history."
  20. I heard the Indigenous Persons and Mexico's Team we warned up to 6 times not to try and get out of Cap jail in the Uncapped season. The owners had a "gentlemans agreement" to do business as if there was a Cap at it's normal projection. The Owners told them not to take advantage of the situation. As long as a majority of the Owners agree to anything amoung themselves the minority has to bow to their will. In short all Owners were put on notice by each other that: "You're not cheating us."
  21. The facility was a ghost town for his visit.... The Ravens need to bring him back. The D was fine with him and Ellerbe while Ray was out.
  22. The problem with Ginn is that he considers himself a receiver and wants to be paid as such. You can't pay him as a #1 or #2 WR. He's not that good at that position. Now... He should get decent money overall because of what he brings to special teams and the upgraded impact he will make there. For him going all out on Special Teams is a "given" and I like that attitude.
  23. Can somebody get Cundiff in this photo?
  24. I'm not worried about all these players going elsewhere and now is not the time to get value in free agency. What I am concerned with is a defense that was pushed around by the Texans and an offensive line that had no push to it in the playoffs. Look at how the senior citizen Steelers just wore down by the playoffs. They had injuries galore. 8 of 11 starters on their defense were over 30. Lot's of experience but they were run over and Tebowed. Getting too old does that to playoff caliber teams. If Ozzie doesn't score in the draft and free agency this year the Ravens could be looking in from the outside. The signs of all the cracks in this teams were beginning to surface. The Cap is a good thing in that it forces you (if you're smart) to cut ties with higher priced average or very solid players and start the younger, faster less expensive players. Well....the Ravens have to improve both the defensive and offensive lines. They need to add 1 "for real" linebacker after all the sub par/serviceable dudes they have brought in the last 4 years. They need a playmaker. Because Ray Lewis might hurt this defense more than help it next year. 17 years. At MLB? I don't think he can get the job done anymore. "Your house is next vmax!" Flacco and Rice will struggle behind the current offensive line. I mean McKinnie has to come in in the best shape of his life with one bad mean streak. Oher better find his mean streak. Now they have to replace a Pro Bowl LG. and just signed a very old center. Smarts are very important but you have to be physically capable of executing what your "smarts" tell you. Birk and Ray probably can't do that anymore. Ray knows where the ball is going every play. He just can't get there. So.... Where should Ozzie put Steve's money?
