  1. ...and may I disagree? The Bengals have won 6 out of the last 9 games with the Ravens...with a crappy defense. They will show up and play hard...forget about what they have done so far this year. Palmer's been rusty due to the layoff, but like Brady, he's getting better each week. I still see a Ravens win because the Ravens are deeper and more talented as a team...more consistant and battle tested as far as big games go. But this just might not be the slaughter some are predicting. Preston says the Ravens will win by 2 TD's. That'll make for a pleasant Sunday afternoon in my purple seat.
  2. I read this quote and thought this mighty man deserves some praise... Hue is the man behind the scenes who is instramental in the development of Joe Flacco. He's done one hell of a great job. From 2004 to 2006 he was the Bengals WR coach and turned Chad Ochocinco and T.J. Houshmandzadeh into one of the best WR tandems in the league. He knows the passing game inside and out. This Ravens coaching staff is stacked.
  3. Ravens fans have been talking about the 17 rushes last week vs the 47 pass attempts. Here's an interesting quote from Cam Cameron.... Many of us believe that you better be able to run the ball and play good/great defense to win in the playoffs. Cam probably agrees, but he's tipping his hand as to his philosophy and preference that passing is more important than running. Definately the NFL has made a ton of favorable rule changes for QB's and WR's to have more scoring and explosiveness to the game...and that has worked. Cam speaks of the last 10 years of Super Bowls...when I think about it, the quarterbacks come to mind. Not the running game. Definately the successfull throwing teams have better odds at making the playoffs. I've researched that and you can get to the playoffs with a good passing game and an average to marginal D depending on the conference you're in. But.....Maybe he's wrong because when it's playoff time. What worries me is that the pass happy Chargers never advanced when he was OC there. Is there a slippery slope ahead if the Ravens offense gets 'pass happy'? Shall we debate this? http://baltimoresun.image2.trb.com/balnews/media/photo/2008-10/43066017.jpg[/imgt]
  4. It would be huge for Flacco if Tank is off his game due to the foot problem. That would mean no double team on Tank...free up the line... so Odom can't get that 1 on 1 that has helped him get his sacks.
  5. From the Ravens website.... Ravens Franchise The Ravens can notch the franchise’s 70th regular season home win this Sunday. The Ravens are 69-30-1 in Baltimore during their 14-year history. WR Mark Clayton Clayton, who has 2,813 yards receiving in his career, needs 7 more to pass Qadry Ismail (2,819) for 3rd in Ravens history. QB Joe Flacco Flacco currently has 4,074 career passing yards and needs 90 more to pass Steve McNair (4,163) for 3rd in team history. Flacco (579) also needs 16 more attempts to pass McNair’s 673 (also 3rd most in team annals). With 22 career TD passes, Flacco is 3 shy of tying Tony Banks (25) for 3rd on the Ravens’ all-time list. LB Ray Lewis With 1.5 more sacks and 2 INTs, Lewis will become the 1st player in NFL history with 35 career sacks and 30 career INTs. RB Willis McGahee McGahee, who has 2,079 rushing yards as a Raven, needs 24 yards to pass Priest Holmes (2,102) for 2nd on the team’s alltime rushing list. (Jamal Lewis is 1st with 7,801 yards.) McGahee (961) also needs 39 receiving yards to reach 1,000 for his career. He currently has 142 receptions.
  6. Jeff Fishee's greatest coaching job was when the Oilers were transitioning into the Titans...no home field...moving city to city until Nashville had a field...I think they were 8-8 but they basically played 16 road games. I was rooting for them then...then we got a team and.....well....I trolled the hell out of the Titans fans...might burn in hell for it... Anyway... Welcome to ExtremeRavens Kimberly...grab a brew!
  7. Early thoughts... I think the Ravens D is going to show up big (thank you very much Chad Johnson for opening your yap). This is a defensive unit with a ton of pride and he lit their fire. They don't want him dancing in their endzone. They won't let johnson or Benson beat them. Nobody runs on the Ravens and the Bengals won't either. They are actually better against the run than the 2000 Ravens were. I believe they'll get Cincy's best effort for 60 minutes...but they expect that....and can more than adequately match that. It's not just a physical Ravens D anymore....it's a physical D and O. I respect the Bengal D and expect a great matchup of Oher on Odom. It will be a chessmatch for Cam to move the ball and score on that D and Cam will make the 'in game' adjustment. He has all the pieces to do it. This isn't Joe's first look at the Bengals...he has 2 wins on them already. The winning formula remains the same...whover turns it over the fewest times and makes the most big plays will win this game. My money is on the Ravens.
  8. Bad idea and bad timming with the state of the economy. Corporate sponsorship will be 0. City graft ...100%.
  9. The league knows they blew it. I think Brady's behavior...the smiling helped...he played the refs. The play where Gaither went down...the blow that did it...was a NE player who lead with his helmit, spearing Flacco in the sternum. Hard enough to hospitalize Gaither....who was behind Flacco. The flack jacket saved Joe or he's sitting like McNabb. Good for Ray to step up as team leader and defends his teammates.
  10. You can't prepare for this....
  11. Today I'm musing about wether or not the Bengals will start their #1 draft pick....
  12. He's always played like that only it was never called before because he was in a Pats uniform.
  13. update...looks good...
  14. and I speak on behalf of all Ravens fans...admit it...you were sweating bullits at the end weren't you?"
  15. Did you hear the guy on Fox? "Gaither is fine while the 6 guys trying to lift him up suffered hernia's. They couldn't even get an MRI result on him...he didn't fit in the machine...literaly..."
  16. LOL! "That ain't no personal foul if you're still smiling."
  17. How about this cleetz...

    Denver D

The Titans started out like that last year...all shits and giggles talk about being greater than the Ravens D...reality caught up with them. That record isn't falling any time soon. Not with all the new changes to help the passing game and increased scoring. Still...great start for the Denver D...never in a million yearts saw this comming.
  19. post the vid when you get it dc... bitching and moaning after a loss is not cool.
  20. I'm not blaming anybody in particular. It was a team loss just like it would have been a team win if they pull it out in the final seconds. I am not impressed with Carr...Landry has work to do and Clayton did make some key catches...just not The Key Catch. at times I was impressed with some of Cam's calls and formations.....that TD toss to Willis was total deception. When the 1st quarter ended and the Ravens had only 1 possesion I thought it was time to run and control the clock....rest the D...win the field position battle ect. That is part of the game...part of finding ways to win on thne road. I will give Cam this...until today the Ravens offense was almost perfectly balanced in their run/pass ratio...something like 119 passes to 112 rushes. Also...I will give Cam a mulligan...he's earned it for the outstanding work he's done with this offense.
  21. What happened? How did the Browns stay in the game?
  22. It's the only 4 o'clock game I can get. After 2 MNF games in a row...which I did not watch, I refuse to have this team shoved down my throat. Friggn'n Mexico's Team. I F'n hate the network love fest with those losers.
