In response to Ray Lewis stating that the blackout was not an accident but sabotage instead to prevent a blowout SB......

Below is what the 4whiners owner said....Now, if the players are fined for behavior unbecoming to the NFL, why not this little dweeb ?

Thoughts !!

DUH?

Of course it's listed as a mechanical issue...electricity, the wiring and boxes, the power...is all mechanical.

Do you think Vegas would leave their calling card next to what went bad?

I have no doubt that the NFL or Vegas or the Mob turned the power off.

None.

So the electric going out over and over in Aug and the power company saying that some big peice of equipt needed replacing in I think Sept had zero to do with it? I saw the memo produced in the investigation. The Superdome and power company dropped the ball.

Just for the sake of argument. Let's just say, it wasn't mechanical, it was intentionally turned off. My question: How would the people who turned it off know that turning it off would also mean the Ravens would turn off? And the 49ers would turn on? See where I'm going with this? How would anybody know who would benefit and who wouldn't?

C'mon guys, this is as bad as the 911 conspiracy theories.

It's simple....it was obvious that the 49'ers were on their way to getting blown out.....but there was still time to mount a comeback....still time to cover the point spread....so there was nothing to lose by pulling the plug and everything to gain.

and how did they know turning off the lights would change anything. Also an owner should get fined for making a joke under these circumstances I guess harbaugh should have been fined for complaining about the music at Heinz field. Good lord lighten up it was a joke. What is this frickin world coming to.

It was a 50% chance that it would turn the game

New Orleans power grid is not very good. Also the stadium is old and was drawing way more power then it normally does because of all the extra stuff for the super bowl once again lighten up it was a joke. If the nfl, the mob, or whoever gets to fix games then why watch and why celebrate because the outcome was already in the books before the game started. I guess I could say the nfl wanted Lewis to go out on top so they fixed the super bowl.

If it was that bad then the NFL needs a committee to research where the SB's are being played..I guarantee you thats the last time The Big Easy hosts a SB, until a new stadium is buit

The Whiners were on their heels and were getting worse T, they were given over 30 minutes to adjust their game and fix their weaknesses, and that obviously helped them immensely.....Not enough though, fortunately.....

And Ray was there, knows far more than we know, and he said it was no accident......

Jed York is acting like a jerk and trying to cover it with sarcasm, I just think it's a bad example for an NFL franchise owner, and isn't that why players get fined for off field behavior that is embarrassing to the league ?

Well this is one instance where it didnt matter, the 40Whiners were 4 point favorites..So in a fantasy world, say Crabtree cought that pass, that would have given the whiners a 4 pt victory, making the only people in the world happy would be the bookmakers since every bet would have pushed, and the bookies would have collected juice on all straight bets

I completely agree with that. After Katrina you had linemen and electricians showing up from everywhere to collect on the goverment pay. The only problem was the guys that showed up didn't really care and where only there for the money. I didn't have my journeymens card yet or I would have went.

Yeah, but really O.S.? Intentionally sabotage a super bowl? I guess anything is possible but extremely unlikely. I know most fans and media around the NFL don't like us, but I just don't buy it. Yes, the 35 minute delay helped the 9ers regroup, and they did recover- more power to them. But, bottom line- we held it together at the end and WON!

Posted

I think it was just a mistake. I might be able to accept the idea of sabotage if they if the idea was to cancel the rest of the game. Giving the 49ers time to regroup doesn't make sense to me. Most of the time after a half hour break I would think the team dominating would continue to dominate.

Very good cover up.

Hint: It wasn't the girl scouts who planned this out.

So I guess you are a birther too.

It is better than even odds that it would hurt the Ravens and help the 9ers.

Super Bowl blackout report blames electric relay device, cites poor communication

John Palmer, a Utah-based forensic engineerhired by Entergy New Orleans and the firm that manages the Superdome, said the equipment was set incorrectly, though it complied with the factory default settings, and blamed poor communications between the manufacturer and the utility company for it not being set correctly.

Palmer said the "misoperation" occurred because the relay had a "previously unreported instability in the range of the pickup setting," which was within normal operating conditions. "Had the relay pickup setting been in excess of the maximum load current anticipated, the misoperation would not have occurred," the report states. "Thus an appropriate pickup setting was a contributing factor to the relay misoperation."

I'm both saddened and disgusted that there are actually people who think the NFL did that on purpose with the aim of helping the 49ers. One of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard in my life.

And Bill Clinton said he did not sleep with that woman either; do you believe him also ?
