Magnify it with his blocked punt week 1, the guy is in a funk. I'm just saying I distinctly remember him stinking it up a few times in the playoffs last year, including one during the SB. Hard to find useful statistics on punters but his postseason average was about 10 yards less than this regular season average. At any rate just something for the coaches to keep an eye on. Unless a team has a great return guy, team seem to want to kick to a guy. vmax Posted November 6, 2013 Share Posted November 6, 2013 He's taking his first steps out of the NFL. You always need a good punt, but in critical times of the game he's been whiffing. The battle of field position starts with a good punt. The D gets a stop. Then you hope the other punter whiffs or that you get a good return to set the O up. It's hard to put up points having to drive 80-90 yards every time. This was one of the reasons (of many) the Ravens lost to the Browns....field position.
