...you have seen what he's done in NY, right?

Especially after watching the job he's done despite the bubbleheaded mangement in New York. Come to think of it, with Ozzie and the FO supplying Ryan with the talent, we'd be working on ring # 4.

Thats funny, Rex is a goon, he'll be out of a job in 2 months

I don't know about ring #4 but Rex was saddled with crap FO when he got there. He was saddles with Marty's son for OC. Woody Johnson is a poor owner.

" Goon " in football is not a bad idea. It's worked well for us for many years. Lack of " goon " is what we're witnessing on the field every week so far this season and our record is testament to that.

The Myth was better than the man.

He's really just somebody to laugh at now.

He wanted "Broadway Schmoe" Sanchez and Geno Smith and he can't beat the Ravens...you can have him.

Don't care what anyone says, I still love Rex Ryan. With his talent for getting max effort from players, I say we would be working on our third SB ring by now. Discuss.

rEX WOULD BE WORKING ON HIS 6TH HEAD COACHING GIG...HE FUCKING BLOWS AS A HEAD COACH

Rasta - I can deny that Rex gets the most out of his players.

That's too broad a statement.

He gets the most energy and fire and heart - probably. His players love to play. And that says a lot. I want players who want to win and want to win badly.

He certainly does not get the most talent. Or organization. Or discipline. Or respect.

And that's a trademark of his teams and his players - including when he was here. Here, luckily, he had some seriously disciplined and organized and focused players in the first place. And talented, of course. All they needed was heart and passion behind them. But give him trouble and he magnifies it, instead of ending it. Not what I want.

I like Rex and wish him well. Unless of course he is playing us.

He is kind of a loose cannon and at times a jerk and frankly I am glad he isnt one of the faces of this franchise. Wise move on the Ravens part IMO.

Also I have plenty of doubts about his overall coaching ability. Does anyone think he coached well today? His team was a front runner for a playoff spot and that was the effort they put forth?

Rex could not be HC here after the players lead to the removal of the old coach. They wanted Rex. You can't give them that. They needed a disiplinarian to take over. Rex would not have been that guy.

You can't give them that? Why not? Are the Jets an undisciplined team or are the Jets a disciplined team that plays far above their talent level of talent? The body of evidence says the latter is true and that the former is a crock.

Can't follow your logic. Are you saying a coach who gets the most energy, fire, and energy from his players does not want to win badly? And are you sure Rex's Jets teams have ever been deemed undisciplined? Untalented yes, but undisciplined? Wanna give that a little more thought?

Wrong, the Jets were supposed to be a contender for a #1 pick before this season. With Sanchez done, Revis gone, and rookie Gino in with a buttload of rookies, the Jets were supposed to be a non entity this season, but as in season's past, the Jets have surprised the media critics and the NFL. That's hellufied coaching.

I think Rex makes a good coordinator but not coach. He's a players coach like Billick which usually means discipline takes a back door. Thats why Ozzie looked elsewhere when considering a new HC. I'm not going to put the entire blame on Rex for the Sancheese,Tebow,Geno debacle, who knows how much the GM/Owner played into that. Personally I'd traded for ASmith and not drafted Geno.

Wrong. Yesterday they were in the driver spot for a playoff spot and they had a piss poor effort. That was not great coaching. Donnt be a Rex groupie.
