STLRaven Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Normally I hate it, but I've found some gems on Amazon MP3. Reggae Christmas Los Straitjackets Christmas What's your favorite Christmas song? Do you have any cool Christmas traditions? Quote
Dunno Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Easily this one I mean: Rudolph, he will change his name, 'Cause "Rudolph" just sounds really lame— Now we'll call him Ragnagord, The evil reindeer overlord. Quote
DarthSizzle Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 A Chipmunks Christmas every year baby! My grandmother would play it every year, so in her memory I have that music going all the way though December lol. Quote
Guest BallTMore Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Me and my sister have to hear, "The Marvelous Toy" on 101.9. It's become a tradition to listen to that song together. Haven't heard it yet. Quote

Otis Redding and Bing Crosby singing White Christmas... And to really make me somber... James Taylor's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas Quote

XCelR8 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Something about being Jewish makes me avoid Christmas but no matter where I turn it gets pushed down my throat. Quote

dc. Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Something about being Jewish makes me avoid Christmas but no matter where I turn it gets pushed down my throat. Sucks. I think Christmas season has gotten out of hand... but I also think the anti-Christmas sentiment has gone too far. So many people celebrate it, regardless of religion, and yet we have to fight about the legality of putting "Merry Christmas" or a tree in a public place... bah. ... and too funny, Spen. Quote
Spen Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 ... and too funny, Spen. I was goofing off but I really do like that song. A lot. Quote

I don't mind if somebody says to me "Merry Christmas" at all. But my friends and co-workers know that I am and they don't say anything out of disrespect towards me or anybody else. But we all joke around about it this time of the year and people have to have a sense of humor and not be such a tightwad. I hate that people have become "offended" by things these days. But I do feel that everything should be given as much attention as others. It helps one realize what a big nutty world we live in. Quote
dc. Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Totally agree. (I almost wrote Amen... ha). I try not to say it to people I know are not Christian (or who simply don't celebrate Christmas), but Merry Christmas still slips out on occasion. But the sense of humor... I agree 100% that it is something more people have to remember to add to their lives. Sometimes, instead of getting upset or anything, you have just step back and look at the absurdity of our world, our lives and all of that. It is sad at times, but it is also funny and can be as inspiring as it can be depressing. Quote
nattybohfiend Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 As long as it starts after December 1. Quote
52isUnstoppable Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 kinda off topic but since your talking about our absurd world I recommend buying this book called "Our dumb world" its The onions' version of a world atlas. They make fun of every single nation in the world in 250 pages. Just picked it up for Sh*ts and giggles and cant stop laughing. Quote
dc. Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Love the Onion. Might have to check that out. I have seen some of their other books that look funny, but not quite funny enough for me to buy. An atlas, though... I might have to. Quote

52isUnstoppable Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 that was nice maniac. Good find. Love the giant shit factory, the most historic and recongnizable monument of essex. DC- check out the atlas its awesome trust me. Excellent bathroom reading material (Then again I just finished reading a book on how to survive the zombie apocalypse.) Heres an excert from what they say about maryland "with a suprise around every 15 corners, and a good surprise around every 30 or so, maryland is an exciting place to visit so long as one comes in with zero expectations, has never eaten in a restaraunt before and can ignore the overpowering smell. Americals very well-hidden gem, Baltimore in particular remains an undiscovered treasure, as few are willing to venture past the crime scene tape." It gets much better. THey shit all over the middle east and poor countries. Quote
