varaven45 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Next week's Texans tilt will be tougher than most think - we already saw what happened after sleeping on Jax. Given the Texans precarious QB situation but a very stout D and All world JJ Watt, the game plan should be: 1. On offense, pound the dang ball and keep JJ Watt in run D mode. We need to return to our run game after yesterdays lack luster performance.2. On D, prepare for an extreme dose of Foster and Blue. Texans QB Savage isn't going to chucking the ball all over the field.3. Get the lead, pin our ears back, and send the wolves - Suggs, Elvis, TJ - all game.
thesteelhurtin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 They have no qb yinz win this one going away unless Foster goes absolutely off.
varaven45 Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 Except Texans didn't have one yesterday and it took a 4th Q end of game pick by Indy to with a closely contested 17-10 Division clinching game in Indy.Like the Steelers/KC game, I expect a close dogfight between the Texans and the good guys
thesteelhurtin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Except Texans didn't have one yesterday and it took a 4th Q end of game pick by Indy to with a closely contested 17-10 Division clinching game in Indy.Like the Steelers/KC game, I expect a close dogfight between the Texans and the good guys good point but Indy doesn't have the defense the ravens do. Yeah you hurting at the corner position but get enough pressure that you don't need top flight corners. Watt could be a nightmare and their defense is stout so maybe not going away but I would say Ravens win by 10.
vmax Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Ravens have the #3 run defense. Houston will start a practice squad QB.
tsylvester Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Texans know the Kub offense very well.... as did the Jags, we saw how that went. It took 8 sacks to win that game, JJ Watt will have a field day against either tackle. Not sure the Ravens will be able to run the ball and if Watt gets going, not sure they will be able to pass it either... On the road, Ravens not very good,,,,,,
oldno82 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Well maybe the offense stays awake this game because they know Kubes will want to beat the team that fired him.
tsylvester Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Well maybe the offense stays awake this game because they know Kubes will want to beat the team that fired him. Maybe, maybe the Jags game was a wake up call not to take "weaker" teams lightly. But Huston has a much better defense than the Jags had.
cravnravn Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 This team is to hard to figure out, I said it last week that we have a history of playing down to our competition, now we are going up against a team starting a 4th string qb?? I dont know what to expect. Houston has a solid defense, we could be in trouble Sunday if we let them run on us.
varaven45 Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 Kinda like that blowout of Jax that ended up a nailbiter at home ?
oldno82 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Really anything goes this Sunday. I can see a blowout by the Ravens or a close win for either team.
thundercleetz Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 The Jags played the best game of their season last Sunday. They pulled out all their gimmick plays and still couldn't win. It sure looked like their Super Bowl on Sunday. It's the NFL, sometimes teams play better one week than they had the rest of the season. It certainly happened in Buffalo.
Tornado700 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Kinda like that blowout of Jax that ended up a nailbiter at home ? More doom and gloom and doubt of anything purple.
vmax Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 No doubt this will be a dogfight. The Ravens have their fair share of big dogs too.
varaven45 Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Yes it should be. The Texans nearly upset the Colts in Indy with a banged up rookie QB. I would expect a 3 pt margin of victory.
vmax Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ravens by the numbers.... http://www.pressboxonline.com/2014/12/17/nfl-week-16-ravens-vs-texans-by-the-numbers
cravnravn Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I'm banking on Houston packing it in, their super bowl was last week in Indy against their division rival, they have nothing to play for..Ravens are 6 point favs for a reason
thundercleetz Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 http://espn.go.com/nfl/gamecast?gameId=321021034&version=mobile&src=desktop Ugh I cannot forget this game!
cravnravn Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 We are 6-1 vs Houston, not worried one bit
Spen Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Is there any scenario that can have us eliminated this weekend?
vmax Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 http://espn.go.com/nfl/gamecast?gameId=321021034&version=mobile&src=desktop Ugh I cannot forget this game! That will not happen this Sunday Forsett had 6 carries for 32 yards and a 5.3 ypc.
vmax Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Is there any scenario that can have us eliminated this weekend? Not this weekend. But they would be circling the drain needing help next week if the Chargers and Chiefs win.
Spen Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Not this weekend. But they would be circling the drain needing help next week if the Chargers and Chiefs win. That's what it looked like to me too. All good, no matter what the last game will be meaningful.
