Teryl Austin, Lions defensive coordinator, has with drawn his name from the Brncos coach search. Word is because he is now the front runner for the Falcons job.

In any event, this takes one more name out of the Bronco coaching job........ Good luck Kubs, you are gonna need it out there. I understand him "wanting" to coach there, having played there, coached there, raised his kids there..

Watched some highlight tapes, I know its not completely accurate but I was very impressed with Green-Beckham. Always attacked the ball at its highest point, strong hands. Looked the part of a #1 receiver. Mel Kiper projected us drafting Devin Funchess at 26. He was also a guy who attacked the ball at the highest point. He is a real big guy, so I don't know anything about his route running ability. Kiper has Funchess labeled as a WR but said he's not a flanker or a traditional tight end. Interesting.

White's speed and ability to attack the deep ball was very impressive. I didn't see much in the way of catch radius or attacking the ball.

By the way Mel Kiper projected EIGHT WRs in the first round. These guys are going to go fast!

Yep, the wide outs will fly for a while, but I truly believe there are as many as 10 who can play right away and be true #1's.... Funches, as I said on the draft thread would be nice in the late 2n or 3rd round. He is too inconsitant with his hands, is lazy in his route running and a poor blocker.

Like I said...every man has his price and Elway will give him everything and more in hopes that his Titanic doesn't sink.

it was great having Kubiak for a year. Great to see a decent Ravens offense. I can't fault him for going for the money. Also...I like how he carried and conducted himself.

Mike Shannan taught Kubiak...and Kyle this offense. Kyle also worked under Kubiak. Hope the Ravens don't lose out on Kyle. Getting him feels like going from varsity to jv but he knows this offense.

And...he's a Shannarat.

Wouldn't we rather have Mike over Kyle?

No!

Not Shifty Eyes!

Not Forked Tongue!

He'd make sure Joe had 2 broken legs.

I want no part of either Shanahan.

Question: how does Kubiak demand everything when there's no competition for the job?

I will be the bold voice that says Kubiak bails on the job...

Ditto.

You beat me to it. He's so wishy washy. He did that a long time ago and changed

his mind after the interview. Maybe he's just doing Elway a favor by talking to him

but he's heading a hornets nest. Manning's arm has more holes in it than swiss

chese, more like speghetti and Elway will demand that his next coach win the

SB with Manning nonetheless, or he'll be gone - in two years.

That's why Fox was let go.

Once Kubes sees the situation first hand he could be wishy washy again and

change his mind.

Speaking of wishy washy, when he came here he said he wasn't using this job

to get another HC job. Then he said earlier in the week he's staying and is

building a house. Don't forget the house part of it.

So he just might be talking to his old pal to feel the situation up.

As for a replacement, Dennison would be the front runner and be good but

he'll probably go with him to be the OC out there.

Kyle Shannahan would be next up. HARBs was calling Dennison for a reference

on Kyle when Dennison said they'd be available. HARBs thought Kubes was

taking off a year.

So my bet if Dennison leaves is on Shannahan who has experience with

Skins and Houston.

Because they called him,he didn't call them. He still has a good job he

likes and can stay here. He can just about name his own price but the

way it works like with Billick, they'll offer the sky and moon and give them

15 mins to think about it. Once you leave the room the offer is off the

table.

In Billick's case, he knew he was getting the Ravens job and spoke to Cleveland

anyway.

It's imperative that we somehow retain the same offensive scheme. Joe flourishes in it and even an average, one-cut running back can pile up a 1000 yards in his zone-stretch offense.

If Kubes goes, and I think he does (20 years of Denver history. Imagine the friends he has there plus he loves the team), I'm almost sure he will take Dennison and Pariani with him. That leaves only Shanahan the way I see it.

So if Kubes is leaving I hope he lets us know real early.

Shannahan turned down the 49ers.

Kubiak could make Shannahan his OC in Denver which would leave Dennison for the Ravens.

The thing is, Max, is that Dennison and Kubiak are a team. He uses the guy as a sounding board and confidante and he's been with him for years. Dennison is to Kubes as Kubes is to Elway.

There's a remote chance that Kubiak is interviewing just to be fair to the Broncos, but I think the reality is that there's too much history and friendship there both with the Broncos and Denver for him not to take it.

Odds on Marone becoming the OC here? Do the Ravens trust a man who gave up a job thinking he ha anothr locked up only to find out no one wants him? Will they rent an OC for a year again?

Posted

I think they'd be better served with Dennison or Shanahan. Somebody who knows how to run our offense. And I don't think he's coming here.

Just had a thought: what about Juan Castillo if both Dennison and Shanahan are gone?

Assuming Kubiak takes Dennison who would you want? I've heard the younger Shanahan is a know it all but do you want to change the offensive system again?
