Joe always checked down. Rice, Rice and more Rice. Wonder if Pitta is the #3 on most plays? But what about the WRs Joe is putting the ball to? Trusted Boldin along with Smith but Smith was old. Jones to me was just lucky. And yes Pierre Garcon would be a good fit, not saying that is going to happen. Oz fails badly drafting WRs, wonder if the Raven are the worse at it.

Joe's best throws are from the hash marks out, 20-30 yards down the field but just don't see the playing call there. And as for last season, Joe played with fear in his legs. Go watch any video of his play the year before to last season, not the same, no step up.

I cannot understand how the GM office can stink so badly in drafting WR's. Either the quality of the draftee is not there or we are failing to grow them with coaching.

I'm not sure the front office and ownership are taking that inability seriously.

I think a little of both.

I just read this. The photos explain it all. Joe checks down much too frequently...

Unfortunately, I think Joe's too set in his ways to improve.

The photos arw misleading, typical.

Not knowing his progessions, the only thing we can tell is what we over here have been saying all season, even last season.

The route combinations suck. Each route runs a defender into the other. On the sack photo, where was Joe to throw? A jump ball to Pita? Over the middle where there were 2 defenders with position on the receivers... Brady just made that throw for a pick-6...

On the other photo, the middle seam receiver came open late for one, after Joe had looked off him because the weak side safety was cheating to the middle. Joe rips one in there either the receiver gets blown up or it is picked off.

Then there is the question will said receiver make the catch? We all have said Joe lost confidence in this group.

And as RM said, he also lost confidence in his leg & line.

T not sure if joe lost confidence with his knee, my guess is, it wasn't fully healed. 10 years ago that was a 12 month recovery, Joe got injured in November of 2015 and participated in camp 8 months later. Yeah and I know about "modern medicine" and how advanced it's supposed to be.

He definitely played scared on that knee this year, the amount of back foot throws is the tell tale sign.

When we talk about Joe, we are talking about the offense in general.

It's a team sport. It takes a combination of units effectively doing their job to be potent.

The best we saw was the 2012 playoff run.

Joe had a reshuffled O line that gave him a pocket, gave him time and got the job done.

The running game was respectable.

He had a great hands, possession receiver in Boldin. In the red zone Boldin and Pita were a combination too potent for defenses to defend.

He had a deep threat in Tory and when Jones was on the field, that made 2 threats for the safeties to worry about.

All these cylinders, firing and executing in tandem, made Joe look "All World."

He could do his thing.

Fix the line, run game and develop the receiving corps.

All will be well.

That's what they need but it'll take time and cap space to get those things.

Patience is needed by the fans and media to go along with that.

They also need Oz to return to form.

I know of at least one thing Joe might do to improve himself. Renogotiate his over paid salary so we can grab some of these top free agents from around the league. Something like this could possibly put us in playoff's next year.

I've also made that suggestion. Brady did it years ago that's how much he wants his team to be a winner. And Joe's contract is way out of line based on reality.

THe Ravens rank 28th in the NFL in cap space.

Doesn't say much for our cap management when we rank that low and just have a mediocre team.

Truth!

They may want to correct this philosophy.

Then again, if you draft well and develop that talent, then you will always be up against the CAP if you try to keep that talent.

They have to be very selective and avoid bad signings.

No way Joe and his agent agree to that.

I have been talking about this a long time. How many yrs do we hear about them being tight on the cap? The first thing they have to do is stop holding onto old men and trade players for picks.
