vmax Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 The Ravens have 2 wins. You've heard the saying "Win the games you're supposed to."Well they have 7 games that I see are "Supposed to Win Games." :Jaguars, Bears, Vikings, Texans, Colts, Dolphins and Browns. I say supposed to on these games because of the The Ravens D shouldn't have any trouble with that lot.Win those 7 and they are at 9 wins. They still have another game against the Bengals.10.Split with the Stealers. 11! One can only dream! Quote
tsylvester Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Jags have a very good defense, add that it is London and I would not count that as a win. The Vikes gave the Steelers a run for thier money without Bradford, they too have a very good defense. Miami is a solid team all the way around, that could easily be a loss. It has only been two games, but there are symptoms that this team, could still be the same team as last year, or worse. 10 turnovers, how many offensive points? How many sacks in two games, with all those turn overs? Still wide outs running wide open because of broken coverage, mix ups in the secondary; we've seen this show before, been told they will fix it... The offensive line, will it get better, with Yanda out? If not, that offense will be in big trouble. It is an old mantra but one game at a time even for fans, because we still do not know what this team is, it has only been two games.. Quote
varaven45 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Love the diverse perspective here. I'm between VMAX/Crav and TSY on my view/forecast of the team. Win total looks slightly north or south of .500 - depending on the injuries/health/performance. FWIW-not that anyone comments on my opinion on this exclusive board (sure miss good ole Sock; may he RIP) - here are my thoughts: Defense - has been lights out, fast as all get out, and opportunistic. Adjustments needed for the big chunk plays and loss of Brandon.Offense - mildly surprised with Joe and the RBs play. Wonder about the loss and makeup for Yanda. WRs need to step up and Joe needs to continue his progress.ST- Awesome so far. Tucker may be key on Sunday and throughout the season, esp down the stretch. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Good stuff VA, I figure the wins all come down to how the offensive line does, plain & simple. Quote
cravnravn Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Good stuff VA, I figure the wins all come down to how the offensive line does, plain & simple. It comes down to how fresh the offence can keep the defense. If Joe can control the clock for 32 or more minutes a game, we will be well above a 500 team. T don't know where you get your 411 from on Jax, but they are a terrible team, don't care where its played, Ravens are 3-0 heading into Stealers week. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Crav, their defense is pretty good and I would not bet $1 that Howard can keep Calais Cambell out of the back field. With London, as any gambler should know, is no easy bet, neither playing there nor when the teams come home and play they next few weeks... Quote
vmax Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 8 sacks in 2 games! That's damn good.I suggest reading up on the Jags. They gave up 390 yards of offense and 37 points to the Texans.Bortles is tanking again, they lost their #1Wr Allen Robinson, their center, Linder, who is their best player on their weak O line has a bum knee and is not practicing..... All that said, the Jaguars play the Ravens well and I expect a close game agreeing with all the Ravens offensive concerns and coverage concerns.But....this team ain't last year.Last years team hurt my eyes and brain. This year, they are entertaining and making plays. There is a key core and solid nucleus on D and Special Teams....2/3rd's of the winning formula... It's missing some pieces and others hopefully will develop.Definitely one game at a time...and yes, the Ravens are a mystery team....but one can dream! Quote
tsylvester Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Max, they gave up 37 pts to the Titans and Mariota, but held him to 15 of 27 for 215, 1td, 2 picks, 2 sacks. It was largely done by big plays, 42 yard touchdown pass, a few 15 -20 yard passes. Sound familiar? It is only 2 games, but that is a very good defense.... Quote
RavenMad Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I'll be at the game in London and all I'm looking for is the victory formation with 40seconds to go. Everything else is gravy. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Look at these guys coming out of the woodwork Quote
Tornado700 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I just worry about why the Ravens are leaving tonight, as opposed to last Monday. If it were me, I would want to get acclimated ASAP to the London time. The Jags have done this before, so advantage goes to them. However, that being said, the Ravens are still the better team. They have moved up to the 10th best team in the NFL. Their D is the best in the league, my opinion of course. They are favored by 4 and have beat the odds in both games. Ravens still owe the jags a punch in the mouth after they won that game in Bmore a couple of years ago with that weird game where Jax kicked the game winner. That game was, in my opinion again, was stolen by the jags and the refs. Ravens win in a slugfest by starting slow and then coming back to win 23-17. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Kind of agree with Tornado here. It's tough with the jet lag and used to take me several days to recover. They'll feel it on the way back too so effects could carry over to the Steelers game. I also agree it's going to start off slow for the Ravens but with them accelerating at the end to win it. Quote
vmax Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 Upon the emergence of new evidence I changed my mind. It's not possible. Quote
RavenMad Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 My guess is they used this as another bye week. Have a little weekend break, don't stay long enough to suffer jet lag and be back into work on Monday morning fresh and ready to go. Just wish I had been in on it and saved my money for a trip to Baltimore. That would be cheaper for me than a trip to London Quote

Nobody could prove it better than you. I'll be at the game in London and all I'm looking for is the victory formation with 40seconds to go.
