    Joe

Colin... The O line is not only getting Joe clobbered but it is not run blocking, so Joe has no threat of a running game. He has little time to throw and only 1 proven pass catcher to throw to. He's not Superman. No QB in Joe's situation would look good. You see that right? We saw what Joe can do in the playoffs with a running game, guys who could catch and an O line who can protect him.....against very good defenses. He's shown what he can do...proven it...when he has a TEAM around him. Joe hasn't changed. The team has. Matt Ryan with all the offensive weapons in the world can't win. Romo can't and Rodgers & the Pack are 2-2.
  2. It was colder the next week, Christmas night against the Vikings. Never forget that game....a woman in the section next to us, in that bitter, bitter cold, with high winds, took her shirt off and flashed us. It warmed our hearts.
  3. No way do I want to expand the number of teams in the playoffs and turn it into a farce like other leagues. We've already see a 7-9 team reach the playoffs because the league is so watered down. Now they are telling us that this is what we want. Friggn'n Telling us! Let's just make the regular season meaningless. Let's celebrate .500 ball. Oh yea....we really want to have 1 less home game a year, so London can have 3 games, while we pay the top premium price for 4 pre season games that mean nothing. WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER DID. When he stands there....the Mouth of the NFL Owners....Sauron's Mouth....and says this is what we want, it is a total insult to my intelligence. They think we are stupid sub morons. "It's what the fans want!....you fucking liar.
  4. He's their Director of player personnel...maybe that's why they draft so high every year and miss.
  5. "All they have to do is cover Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Jermichael Finley and Randall Cobb"
  6. How do the Ravens stop or limit the damage Aaron Rogers can inflict?
  7. Bulletin Board!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Yea...I heard that today. Even if he wears a cast it will hurt his game. He could've had a 5 sack day against McKinnie.
  9. the Jaguars would have no luck at all.... They trade their LT Monroe to Baltimore last week because they thought their #1 pick Luke Joeckel could take over and he breaks his ankle Sunday and is out for the season.
  10. Look at making several WR packages. Joe can do a lot with that group when they are split into different packages/groups for different situations....create a lot of mismatches and head aches for defenses. Now...if Dickson starts to come along....and the line get's it's ass in gear....
  11. Get over it. If you want a QB who wins in the playoffs, then it will cost you $120 mil. If you had to watch Harbaugh, Mitchel, Banks, Case, Boller, Blake, Grbac, Redman, Wright,....$120 mil is a very fair amount to pay to stop your brain and eyes from hurting.
  12. That was in the back of my mind. Yea....good catch.
  13. We have a couple of O lineman topics here so I just wanted to make a feeble effort to put it all under 1 roof. The state of the Offensive line is a big issue. A major one. Here's the situation: It's not just 1 guy on the O line who is the problem. It's all of them....coaching too. McKinnie puts his hands on a guy once and then acts like he's done his job and then he stands and watches the play. Osemele has back issues so his game is not 100% like last year. He's a shadow of himself but this is the reason. Gradkowski is not big enough physically to play smash mouth ball and it will take time for him to get close to reading defenses and calling adjustments like Burke could. He's a highway for nose tackles and blitzing linebackers. Yanda is a weaker version than last year because he was limited in what he could lift in the off season. This affects his physical play style and the run game. He just is not up to strength. Oher...something's not 100% right with him too...it will come out later, but he needs to get that nasty mean streak back. On top of this Osemele and Yanda have to help Gradkowski...so with their injuries they have this additional weight to pull. The only solution for the 2013 season that I see is putting Monroe in at LT and hope he does well. Then hope Osemelee and Yanda get healthy quick. They may need the bye week to come back 100%. Gradkowski is the center because the other options are worse. He's a hard worker. Let's hope he develops, reads better and grows into a better center as the year progresses. Yesterday was his 6th NFL game if you count last year. He needs time. Michael Oher has to play under control but real pissed off. And then there is the coaching and scheme..... From Philadelphia via John Harbaugh. Philly did not have a smash mouth rushing attack. I was never a fan of their run game. The Ravens have always been smash mouth. It's part of their winning philosophy and Harbaugh does understand and embrace that. He get's it. He wants to be the most physical team on the field. But...the feature back and playmaker is Ray Rice. You're not road grading with him so Wilbert Montgomary is the perfect coach for him. Ray has been terrific...until now the offense ran through him. He may be playing hurt right now....may have lost a step...but he's dancing in the hole too much. He is not running like he used to. Something is wrong and it's not his heart and guts. Pierce...he must be hurt too. And the running lanes are few. Rice had some yesterday, but he danced too much while Leach cleared a lane into the second level. Something is not right there. But...this Castillo guy is implementing a scheme that does not work well for his personnel. It, in a sense, neuters them. You really can't get all mean, nasty and physical and beat the defensive front 7 into a shell. Caldwell never had it with Manning. There's a disconnect here in how to accomplish a nasty, physical run blocking O line. The current smash mouth solution is to fire Leach out of a cannon into a linebackers face until the LB wants no parts of him any more. It's punishing, but for years we saw defensive front 7's in the 4th quarter looking at the clock, looking at the side lines and looking at the tunnel wanting to go home and definitely looking in the dirt when the Ravens O line towered over them. Not this season........... Well...They did beat the Dolphins up in the second half yesterday. I guess that's a start. IN Short: We saw what McKinnie, Osemelee, Burke, Yanda and Oher can do against the best in the playoffs last year. They were dominant. 4 of those 5 men are still in uniform. All that's changed is Burke and McKinnie....and health. Maybe McKinnie has packed it in...maybe physically he doesn't have it any more...he is one huge man getting older and slower. But he looks like Kip Vickers on the field at this point in the season. Gradkowski is a weak link, but he's no quitter. He needs time to develop into this unit. He's learning under fire....and he may not be the long term answer at center. Get these guys healthy and put Monroe in there and we'll see a very solid line. Ozzie knows it. That's why he got Monroe now. Get it done ASAP before Joe get's sent to the ER. He's getting mauled and it's only a matter of time before an arm, or a knee or rib injuries strike.
  14. I agree....very predictable play calling....saw it just like you wrote it.
  15. I haven't seen a passing game like this in Baltimore since Bert Jones and Roger Carr. Pay him because: 1 High Character man. Not a take the money and run guy. 2. Not a Diva. 3. Great hands and ball location skills. 4. His ceiling has not been seen yet. He is now running routes and making plays all over the field. I'm not saying he's Jerry Rice...but.... 5. He's leading all receivers while he's the only receiving threat for the Ravens. Every team game plans and puts their best 2 men on him and he's tearing it up with a QB whose line does not give him adequate time to throw the ball. 6. Defenses have to be honest and defend the whole field. Huge value in having a man who can stretch the field. Lot's of players can run deep but few catch the ball consistently and deliver the goods. 7. He's the Ravens best weapon.
  16. Brady only has 2 INT's on the year but they are not a strong team. 6 points is a weak effort. They are in a weak conference and they are still favorites to win their division.....so they are not "in trouble." They are in trouble as far as getting to the Super Bowl. I don't see that happening.
  17. Felt good to type BWAHAAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
  18. very good, solid player but you have to say that he's injury prone...
  19. The Ravens D is on the rise... It's a new unit learning to play together...they will be dominant if everybody get's on the same page. Suggs putting up MVP numbers...he took over the 4th quarter... Huge play by Dumervil...Thank You!

    Game Balls

Yea...I saw that and thought the same thing. He was a chain mover today...definitely clutch. Tucker deserves a game ball too.
  21. 2.5
  22. Hurt back. That explains the drop off in his game.
  23. The Ravens did all the same things to lose a game on the road. Turnovers and penalties. 1 Ray Rice fumble leads to 3 points. 1 Flacco INT for 7. 6 penalties...Shipley's set up Joe's INT...facemask 1st and 20. Yet they found a way to win and looked better when you consider the left side of the O line was McKinnie, Shipley and Gradkowsky and that Joe only had Thompson, Smith and Doss as receivers Speaking of that...hat's off to the Ravens receivers. Smith had an outstanding day 6 for 121 with a 20.2 ypc Doss 3 for 58 for 19.3 ypc And Ed Dickson Sighting!!!! 2 for 55 for 25.5 ypc!!! 6 sacks by the D. 3 for Suggs. Lost in this is Tucker who had a solid day and roll in this win. Nice game Webby...
  24. Suggs and Torrey?
